I can't see the problem...

there is a new fix for this update :D

unfortunately it uses an official .wad and some unofficial modified applications, but it works :D

if you updated i would recommend reading about it at GBAtemp:

I recommend reading the whole thread

Is it possible to get rid of this IOS51 and then re-update your wii with Muzer's fixed update?

hetoan2

yes you need a legit copy of IOS 30 and IOS 36 from a game disk which you can rip out with wii scrubber, and then you can delete your IOS51, but unfortunately It's illegal so you can search google.

btw Wii Music has both the files, along with guitar hero world tour.

SMG might also.

Instead of wii scrubber
Nuke done a tool which is fast and simple way to get these files and requires no ripping or copyright keys.
WUFE (Wii Update File Extractor)

true that however WUFE is only of use if you do it on a Wii.. and I miss how you could get the Iso of the backup disc on a Wii except for your Wii is modified or you modify WUFE like WiiGator did. Therefore.. Trucha Signer, WiiBrowse, Wii Scrubber or any other Wii browsing application is the better choice in that case. WUFE is really good if you just want to update contents of a retail disc!

Uh... I'm guessing this would be the place to post this... Anyway does anybody know if, when you use the Wii Shop and IOS51 installer, it will also make it so that any games that have the update on it not tell you to update your system? I can't test this myself and I don't wanna install it if it'll just make me update anyway once Animal Crossing comes out.

Working on codes.. Could use some ideas.

I would use an app called Starfall and install the skip disc update, theres an option like that, which skips the updates on the disc so it will load the game in the disc screen like as if the update was never there so you'll be fine if you do that. Also you can get a region free Wii too if you want to use that feature on starfall.

Yeah I could do that... But that doesn't answer my question. I wanna know if using the Wii Shop and IOS51 installer will make a game with the update not tell you to update.

no it will not. you'll have to load through gecko OS or another way to skip updates every time.

when I started Disaster the first time it told me to update, so I started it with GeckoOS but it screwed up the whole game (the textures weren't fully loaded or something like that)

hetoan2

hmm... use gecko region free or MenuLoader w/ skip menu updates.

OK another quick question... If I was to use the Wii Shop and IOS51 installer and then install the update via Nintendo, would that hurt anything?

Updating through Nintendo would defeat the purpose of the Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer.  The Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer is intended to allow you to access the Wii Shop without updating to the latest firmware, which fixes the signing bug on all the usual IOS versions.

EDIT:  If you are talking about a game disc, then it would only be an issue if a game were to contain this update.  There is no game that currently contains it, but that is likely to change in the future.

Animal Crossing: City Folk has it. Listen I just wanna know if I use the Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer then can I never update via Nintendo again or would updating just apply the patches as normal?

I'm pretty sure that Animal Crossing has the first 3.3 update, and not the newest.  In the future, Nintendo may change the IOS needed to access the Wii Shop, so the Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer would no longer work.  However, I'm guessing that it could be updated to once again allow access to the Wii Shop.
