I'm pretty sure that Animal Crossing has the first 3.3 update, and not the newest.  In the future, Nintendo may change the IOS needed to access the Wii Shop, so the Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer would no longer work.  However, I'm guessing that it could be updated to once again allow access to the Wii Shop.
So you're saying that if I use the installer and then update later (like say once the problem caused by the update is fixed) then I won't have any problems?

If you are worrying about the Wii Shop and IOS51 installer causing a conflict with a future Nintendo update, then no, it shouldn't cause any problems.  All that should happen is that it overwrites the files installed by it.  Also, there is really no point in updating through Nintendo at this time.  I would at least wait until when/if Team Twiizers reveals the new exploit that their Homebrew Channel uses.

Also, according to WiiBrew, Animal Crossing contains the first 3.3 update, and not the second.  However, it does contain an IOS38, which might be required for the WiiSpeak feature.
