The following two tweets were posted on the Twitter of the hacking group fail0verflow.  For anyone who might not know, fail0verflow is pretty much the same group that originally hacked the Wii...

I have to laugh at this because of the fact that there's a program out that will let you watch videos from your PC to your WiiU/WiiU Tablet.  It's not really a hack.  LOL

megazig

that's not what this is. it's not a youtube video streamed

fail0verflow is Team Twiizers with more members. Do you think they'd fake something like using premade video?

Warlock

Well, YouTube is working on the WiiU as well and what I was talking about can be found here - http://www.gamingvlog.net/2012/12/13/how-to-stream-videos-from-your-computer-to-your-wii-u-for-free/ -
No offense, but what's posted in the first post isn't proof of it being hacked - 2 Tweeted posts, a shared picture, their website (which doesn't have much of anything on it) and according to their Tweets, they have a YouTube page! - So, how is this hacking a WiiU?

I do know that the Wii side of the WiiU has been hacked to a point and they're still working on it!

I agree with megazig, fail0verflow doesn't have a history of posting fake news.  I give it at least an 85% chance this is what it claims to be.

I agree with megazig and biolizard.  If fail0verflow says they hacked the Wii U, I believe them.

Anyone else, and I would be right there with Warlock, "show us the exploits or GTFO".  But I believe fail0verflow on their word alone.

EDIT:

I got nostalgic and found the talk Marcan and Bushing gave at 25C3.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyVuY_S5VcI

Interesting thing to note...29C3 is next week.  I so totally hope they give another talk.

For what it's worth, normally I wouldn't post tweets and a picture from a Twitter account, and provide that as evidence that a console has been hacked.  However, fail0verflow has a very good reputation with console hacking, such as their work with the Wii (Team Twiizers) and PS3, that I am certainly willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

However, I do agree that I would be interested to hear more about exactly what it is that they have accomplished, if they are willing to share that information, since the tweets do not provide a whole lot of information (hence why I put the question mark at the end of the topic title).  29C3 is coming up, but I don't know if they are scheduled to speak at it or not.

As far as I know, the fail0verflow blog was the first site to announce that they had the Homebrew Channel working on a Wii U in Wii Mode...

About a week later, it was announced on the HackMii blog...

They announced yesterday that they´ll be taking a break from Wii U hacking.

May be a sign of having failed.
Their last image showed a trollface after all if you made it transparent using a picture editing program.

That was interesting... although kind of depressing for some reason.

It's depressing that he's still calling the PS4 an orbis
If there's any code at all that you want to be button activated, or even able to toggle on & off, and I have the game, just PM me and I'll make it happen

it's not. he can't bruteforce a collision on the key with what he's doing. and the ugly condition of the hardware station does not bode well. that and some private info I've read from him looks terrible from an engineering standpoint
