I like to request a few codes for this game. Such as 99 lives, invincible, 99 bananas and anything else you can come up with thanks.
did they release the game?
Yes it's out today.
I know we're all thinking it- code that lets you play as Diddy Kong solo.
i would like inf hearts or health and the classic moon jump etc

edit: Updated correction in the branch
Works on the 4th level, you should post that in the code topic
I don't think there's a need for pointers in this game
btw how did you go about making that? I searched and got a bunch of floating points related to jumping 3 Y coordinates and 8 related to jump velocity but RAM writing to them didn't have any effect so I figured diving into the ASM would be a waste of time

ok, right now i'm going to work on getting it to work correctly for 1-2 players. but i'll post this one for now.
edit:
I normally use two different ways, this one wasn't two hard to find. 00000000 standing still, Greater than when raising, greater when falling. repeat. i set a normal ram write on it and got the effect.

I haven't got the game yet. It should work like wiiztec said, thanks!
Wait do you use single search? it's a signed search for floating points with it you can search less than when falling
Requests:
Moonjump Code Fix that Moonjump won't affect coming out of barrels. Or a Code That can Turn on and Turn Off Moonjump. Also Moonjump code for Wii Remote & Nunchuck too!
Stop Timer and Resume Timer for Time Attack
That's all I can think of so far please hack these codes.

The Button address for nunchuck is the same as wiimote so you could just change the button activators within the code, I'll Change the Moon Jump to B+2 for the horizontal. that away you don't have to use it. like on the barrels

Excellent job!!!!!!!
I have to report 2 things.
-Using invincibility code while riding Rambi causes the Wii to restart after Rambi gets hit.
-The "have all 7 puzzle pieces" code does not seem to work at least for me...

I know we're all thinking it- code that lets you play as Diddy Kong solo.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I would be very grateful if someone could create a code that allows you to be Diddy Kong in single player.
the 7 puzzle pieces code gives me them in the level but when i get to the results screen i only have the ones i actually collected
I would like a code that lets you play as Super Kong.
Could there be a code to reassign the motion controls to a button instead? I mean it's just shake for pound, shake holding down for blow, so if it instead could become B for pound and down-B for blow that would be great, since B's not being used for anything anyways as far as I know.
it would be sweet for a code to play as diddy
I have the same demand as GuessMyUserName. Disabling waggle and remaping actions to buttons would be great.
Actually, there's code like that for Okami (awful motion controls), and that's what allowed me to finish the game.
I doubt creating a control scheme for the CC would be possible, but if it is, it would be amazing.

infinite lives

All the codes I've tried have worked so far and they're awesome. Having the B button do the actions of the motion control with the nunchuk plugged in would be a dream come true if that's possible. I'm grateful for the horizontal way but the B button doing those actions with the nunchuk would just feel natural. Thanks for the work.

Wanted to help out however I could.
I've tested the B-button code (B For Pound Down-B for Blow B+Directional for Roll) and it works perfectly.
I'd love to see a way to get it to the point where the 1 button could be mapped to run/roll the way the SNES games were.
Which ones are you all working on now? I'd be happy to help test more remapping codes. Even with the B-button hack, I still think the game's control scheme could use a little work. But I'm more than happy to help to help however I can.

What exactly does this do? What does it do in conjunction with the B-to-roll?
hmm it appears using that long code string and the alternate b button codes seems to also make the 1 button act as the roll function and the b button is used to pick stuff up instead of 1... b is also used to escape the pause menu as 1 does nothing..
I just tried that long string of code (without adding the B-button stuff) and the game just crashed... =/
EDIT: It crashes when I do the long code strong WITH the B-button stuff as well, at least when trying to enter 1P mode. Trying now for 2P.
EDIT 2: It crashes for me in 2P mode as well.

Does the 1 also work as run? How would you run in that control scheme?
For me it crashes right as you enter the game before the "clouds" loading screen that precedes the world map.
it sortof acts as both run and roll

That's kinda perfect. Any ideas why it's crashing for me at the clouds? Could you just attach your .gct file?
People there appears to be two different code sets, One code set if your using a legit copy another code set if your using a copy. its very confusing at the moment. This seems to be the reason for the codes not working for some yet work for others

Would it be possible to use the Nunchuk's C button for the roll / pound / blow action? Since it's currently unused there wouldn't be any conflicts.

I think that the codes are made just for the Wiimote only. I'm not having any issues with any of the codes.
Are you using a legit copy or a backup?
is the moonjump code working for your game

Would it be possible to use the Nunchuk's C button for the roll / pound / blow action? Since it's currently unused there wouldn't be any conflicts.
Replying to myself here: Just went to try out the button settings and I think B is actually a better choice if it's possible, but if C is less work that would be fine too. Basically just having the option to play with no motion in the nunchuk setup would be awesome.
Anyone thats wondering I will be replacing my codes on the database with the alternative, I'll keep my old ones on wiird though, just incase.
What would be the code to swap the B and 1 buttons?
switch 400 and 200 that should be it.

Skiller's "Freeze Mini-Game Time" code causes me the same problem(s) as thomas83lin's original set of codes (i.e. black screen lock-up when it's activated). Thomas83lin - I tried the 'alternative' code that you post here (longer time for diddy rocket and always have squawk) and IT WORKS! Thank you so much, now if only you can make that alternative infinte health and DDK infinte health code along with Infinite Banana coins that would be awesome, again thanks a lot for your codes!
Ironically, I had previously claimed that the waggle was not a major problem, but now that the promise of ideal controls looming I can't bring myself to play the game until the nunchuk controls are remappable.
Oh well, it shouldn't be long with the pace things seem to be moving at.

its odd that this game has 2 version ..
Orignal Codes 30310001 (Ver 2 Game)
New Codes 30310000 (Ver 1 Game)
Version 1 seems to be the USA Orignal
Version 2 is what every one is calling a backup .. (And was the orignal codes posted to here)
iv yet to check my disc .. for the version number
this is the main reason iv been asking for a Version checker to be added to the Gecko OS :P

You also need to change the activator on the B For Pound Down-B for Blow code to button one, should look like FDFF0200 that away when u hit 1 you'll roll. I'm guessing thats what your trying to achieve

I'd say waggle on C (currently unused) makes more sense, along with another button swapping code to move it around. Personally I'd prefer to leave B as grab/run, as it feels a lot more natural to me than running with Z; since I don't use the Z run, I'd put that on C just to get it "out of the way" and put waggle on Z. Also, anyone who's been playing horizontally any sufficient amount should already be used to doing waggle with their left hand, so it makes sense to have it on the nunchuk.

Is there any possibility to have a code to play as Diddy in single mode? it is a real shame that rare has deleted one of the most awesome features in dkc :(

Well there is no way if your just using Gecko OS .. the only way to tell is if the codes dont work .. I guess we could Set it to Print the number to the amount of Coins u have or something ..
then u would just see if u have a 1 for coins .. and if u do then u know what your version is lol :P

dear thomas83lin,
Thank you soo much for your work so far. You made the game for alot of us worthwile...i represent a group of people form gully.com. We are thrilled by your work. But there is one last major request we have to ask from your genius: Could you write a code that removes waggle from Nunchuk & Wiimote? That would be the perfect controls...im not an expert on the subject so i ask you if you think its possible...we can only show our support finacially (only if you're not offened by it). We would love to here from you and will praise your name till eternity if you could make this work for us...

Hi guys.
as you might know I added classic controller support to DKCR.
It currently works via asm and is not using any geckoos codes but I thought maybe you can make some with my help, so the masses can enjoy playing it with the CC!
First of all two patches which allow the CC to be connected:
0x80389B90 = 0x38A00000;
0x8038710C = 0x28000009;
The tricky part is the button remapping, I've done this via hooking a function and then just used asm to do it.
Here are the important offsets:
0x805CBCE8 Holds the wiimote button status
0x805CBD48 Holds the CC button status
0x805CBE6E Set this to 0x12D or so to trigger the shake effect
(Player 2 should be at 0x805CBCE8 + 0x180)
I have never done anything with gecko codes so I thought I let the guys who know their way around them handle it.
Wow, crediar to the rescue! CC support would be ultimate, thanks a lot for that :) Now let the Gecko OS code engineers do their magic ^^

Well first off great work :) Secondly I can't see why you couldn't post your hook address and your asm, and I'm sure someone could easily convert it to a C2 Code for use in Geckos.
edit:
Maybe you could convert it yourself using Asm to Wiird, by using this progam just plug in the Asm and the hook address it will convert it to code.
http://wiird.l0nk.org/asmwiird.zip
as I said I don't know much about gecko codes
I hook this address 0x804A5F74, the follwing code must be executed after that function I hook since it relays on the r21 register holding the internal kpad status.
This maps 1 to Y, 2 to B and shake to R and the rest normally Home/Plus/Minus/Direction.

as I said I don't know much about gecko codes
I hook this address 0x804A5F74, the follwing code must be executed after that function I hook since it relays on the r21 register holding the internal kpad status.
This maps 1 to Y, 2 to B and shake to R and the rest normally Home/Plus/Minus/Direction.

i hope theres a classic controlelr code for 1 on the r button, 2 on the b button and waggle on the y button. that would be a perfect as the snes trilogy
Is the CC code for version 1 or 2?
does anybody know how to get version 2? i only got version one... please im going crazy...will cc hack be available for version 1 aswell?
well here you go:
The first bold value is the button (in this case R) which triggers the shake
The 2nd value is the button (in this case Y) which simulates a 1 press
and the 3rd value is the button (in this case B) which simulates a 2 press

hey cred, do you have that CC code for player 2 to use as well, or does it universally change it for both players?
I just tried the classic controller code and it just gives me the "please remove this unsupported extension controller" message.
I assume the code must work with whichever of the codesets I don't have.
I tried it too, but with no results. I get the same message

I wanted to let you know that I tried the code and it does change it for both 1 player and 2 player controls.
Just wanted to say thanks for this CODE it's awesome. My game runs Version 2 of the codes don't know if anyone running Version 1 codes got this to work. Also when I put the code onto my SD card I removed all other controller modding codes. Maybe this will help someone who can't get it to work. Thanks Again hope to see a Code that will let you play Diddy Kong Single player real soon.
For the people that can't get it to work, try this I ported it to version 1

the version 2 classic controller code is amazing
It works, I was even able to switch the Y and R buttons (though I'm not sure that's preferable since holding R to run is a little weird, I might switch it back). Pretty awesome either way, though.
Anyway, if there's still anyone thinking that version 1 is for pirated copies only, it's not, I have a legit disc that uses the V1 codeset.
The code have a problem, but isn't the unplug message, the problem is that the button assigned to replace the waggle if you hold it, keep doing the action indefinitely.
This should be like this: Press that button one time, similar to waggle one time. So, if you want to keep doing that action, you should be keep pressing that button.
Other thing i was thinking, if is possible to assign a action to X button, for example, waggle + down (blow)?
PD: I made a little modification of the original code with other buttons: Y for waggle, B jump and A for grab things (more like the SNES setup).

Would it be possible to make it so that "ground pound" wasn't set to autofire, and make it more like the wiimote shaking style, so instead of you just having to keep the button pressed for it continue pounding you have to keep on tapping it?
And thanks Crediar for this great hack :)

That's the same I requested before, and yes, +1 to this.
PD: Hope X to waggle+down will be great if also can be added.

You got it backwards
Can someone please Modify this Code so that the "A" Button on the Wii Remote is the "A" Button on the Classic Controller. Because when you play 2 players you have to keep picking up the Wii Remote and Press "A" every time you die. I would do it myself but I have no Idea what to change. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!

Woops, gotcha :D
you aint got my ass...did you even bother to look at the date this post was created? There was a split of the hacking section from the warez part of the site; so to be fair and balanced: gulli.com pre 2008 was pretty much hacking & warez; gulli.com as of today is the very best in german entertainment hacking; and not related to any warez site in any way shape or form...try to get atleast your facts straight when you feel the itch to disrespect other people...
Nice logic, so if a thread of a board is 2 years old then it does not belong anymore to the board? It's that that you are trying to tell me? That's ridiculous ;D
But then, the last post in that thread is from 28. 10. 2010. And of course it contains a link to a warez site
You can try to hide the fact all you want, but gulli was, is and ever will be a shameless warez site. Even it's name (Gulli = drain) implies that this board is full of dirty pirats.
Ruffy: if smart mean dirty: gulli people are dirty and you are spotless clean my fellow non pirating cheat/hack user...but if it makes you feel better: gulli is a warez board (now that you've got your trolling success would you leave this produtive thread alone?)

The controllers do work in 2 player co-op but the A button on the Wii remote isn't mapped to the controller so you have to keep picking it up every time you or your friend dies.
Crediar tried mapping it but I couldn't get it to work. Every time I add the code it just freezes on the white safety screen as soon as the game loads. And I have no Idea what do with the second batch of code. Maybe someone else can get this to work I listed the code below if you can get it to work please post the complete code. I'm still waiting to hear back from

Well I own both. And In my opinion the CC Pro is pretty close the the style of the PS3 controller and the CC is pretty close to the look and feel of the SNES controller with added analog sticks. So it's personal preference really if you like SNES get the CC if you like the PS3 controller get the CC Pro although I do have to warn you the buttons that would function as L2 and R2 on the PS3 are really useless on the CC Pro because you never really use them. Hope this helps you.
definitly helps...will get the pro...big hands...
another question? does anybody know about the nunchuk + wiimote non waggle code? is it still being worked on or has it died?
Can someone enable 2 player Co-op in Mirror mode? because currently i learned you can't have diddy in it and that sucks

Thomas, are you still working on nunchuk & Wiimote non waggle?
Well, the K O N G code will tally the letters at the end of a level and show up in the Level Summary, but it will not unlock the Bonus level in each world. I'm assuming that you still need to physically pick up each of the letters in order for the Bonus level to unlock. Is there any way to make a code to unlock all the Bonus levels so I don't have to go back and replay each level all over again?
Thanks
I wanted to know if anyone can help me with this code it should map A to A on the Classic Controller for when you play 2 players so you don't always have to keep picking up the Wii remote every time you or your friend dies. The problem with the code is every time I load up code it just freezes on the white safety screen as soon as the game loads. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP with this code I'm getting really tired of picking up a complete different controller to bring myself back. Also in

There is no reason to make a code that unlocks just the bonus stages because if you turn on the All KONG Letter Code and go to a world that has all the stage beat it will unlock the bonus stage you don't have to go back and pick up the KONG letter in every lvl.

So... what's the definitive code for the classic controller code that makes it most like the Donkey Kong Country games for the SNES?

Look at the other code in memory, it should be close to a normal button activator.
I've tried that, a lot of values change when I shake the wiimote/nunchuk but I never saw a 012C value even when pausing & pressing next frame even when I was looking at the address you found
I figured you had a more sure fire way of finding it

The "first code" is the mapping "A" to "a", the "second code" is just a quote of what the end of the modified code should look like. You've been adding the lines incorrectly, the code goes in midway through the line, as crediar stated.
However, even doing it correctly, the code is non-working for me, with the mapping being entirely screwed; d-pad right is Home, x is left, R is 1, a is plus, etc. I showed crediar the edit correctly applied here (http://pastebin.ca/2004641):
Quote<crediar> well it looks right
<crediar> maybe it's the whole code you must update, I have no idea
Love to hear about it if anybody has a working version.

That's funny, because I've done that in all 8 worlds and not ONE of the BONUS levels is unlocked. So, unless you knew that for a fact, then you should keep your mouth shut! Now, if I may Re-ask my question. Is there any way to make a code to unlock all the Bonus levels?

To any1 out there, I just wanna clarify the version 1 and version 2 of this game. If I'm not mistaken, version 1 of this game is where you see on the (main) screen and press 2 to start the game, and the 'other version' is where it says press 1 & 2 to also start the game. Thanks.
Or if your using the nunchuk A or A & B

Try it with cheats turned off. Early in the game, it says you need the level keys to unlock the bonus levels, and they're available to purchase from Cranky's store.
Also, where'd Skiller go? Any luck with converting those mini-game timer codes?
is it possible (haven't seen it so sorry if i'm repeating a request) to slow down the roll boost so it is more controllable, like in the old series? i hate how to roll boosts you too much and you end up flying into a pit or something.

Thanks Dark_Lord_Prime, you rock. I've never really paid attention since it froze the first time I went into the hut. I now see the keys, but the game instantly freezes when I enter the hut even w/ all cheats turned off and booting normally. Now I have a problem to work on. I'll seek help in the appropriate places. Thanks bro.
I havent been keeping up with this thread..seems like the codes posted in the Code Database just are not all jiving..some work and some dont..versions 1 and 2..etc..I havent tried to hack any myself and havent had time to study it to figure out what is and isnt working.. ???
it would be soo awesome to replace music in this game sort of like how you can replace music in ssbb.... i know it is probably not possible with this game but do you all realise how epic some better music would make this game........ :o ( i can just imagine having stickerbush symphony in this game or forest interlude from dck2 )
I like the music in the game.
I thought of something else that might be useful if it's not hard to do, but maybe it would be.
In time trial mode, whenever you die, it takes you back to the last checkpoint with your current time intact. Since the times are so tight, this is basically never what you want and you just have to pause and select retry afterwards.
Would it be possible to automate this, so that after any death it restarts the current time trial?
@YF191 I think riivolution can change the music, with things like WiiScrubber and SZS modifier; I'm looking into that stuff now. I'll let you know if I have any sucess!

Why don't you just use the "Low Time" code?
I really need an invincibility code for rocket and mine kart levels. It is frustrating to lose a life from every hit...
thomas83lin, thanks so much for the temp level bypass. O0
You are the greatest.
Can someone please make a code where all you have to do is hold 2 to bounce higher off an enemy instead of having to timing it. It was like that in the original and felt more natural. timing is just weird and often doesn't work all the time.

It's not about cheating to win them easier, it's about making the process of attempting time trials work a bit more smoothly.
Does anyone have a "Suicide Switch" code?
With the infinite health code, sometimes when you fall in a pit it doesn't register as a death, and the game just sits there until you reboot. It would be handy to have a button combination that would just kill you instantly.
That only happens if you have diddy kong infinite health on and you fall without having diddy kong
The Classic Controller code is amazing. It makes this game feel brand new and so much more playable.
Do we have a way to disable Wiimote rumble when playing with a Classic Controller? It wastes battery and you can't even feel the rumble, since you're holding the Classic Controller instead of the remote.
You can disable the rumble in the home menu :-X

Yes, but a rumble setting specific to this game would be better than switching in and out of the home menu constantly.
Is there any qay to get the Super Guide for the 9-1 Bonus Temple level? I tried using the Super Guide code, but the pig doesn't appear on the stage at all (he usually prompts me to press the + button to do Super Guide mode). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
You know how in New Super Mario Bros Wii there's codes that makes Mario already riding Yoshi when the level loads?
can there be one like that for this game with Rambi? i want to bring Rambi into other levels since he's only used, like 4 times in the game :-\!

There are separate files for each level, that control your character in super guide mode, I suspect it just doesn't exist for that level, but i will check later.

Okay, thanks. Please let me know what you find out. Thanks.
Well i just checked the files, in the Super Guide Folder, it doesn't really have a good naming scheme so i couldn't tell by looking at that, But i tried dieing about 20 times which normally only takes around 8 times and couldn't get the super guide to appear so i'm going to assume its impossible without some major hacking.
So I've looked at lot of the recent posts and before playing this game, I want to use a control setup that would work awesome for me.
y = Wiimote Shake (Ideally a code where holding the button down doesn't make it constantly shake.)
b = Jump
R = Run/Grab
Is there a stable code for this setup? I'd also like a to function as run/grab but it's not 100% necessary. Ideally, I would love to see a code where the y button performed exactly how it did on the SNES games for running/grabbing/rolling with the a button being ground pound but I don't think that's going to happen. >_>
In the code thread, this code was shown:
QuoteFreeze Time Attack Timer (--:--,--) (Thomas83lin)
042B496C EC00D82A
Note that if u want an actual value just add a button Activation to this .. Tongue
Can I ask how someone would go about adding a button activator?
There's many ways of doing a button activator
Thomas83lin's freeze code with button activator
simple
285C9E28 xxxxxxxx
042B496C EC00D82A
E0000000 80008000
Replace xxxxxxxx with button code (http://geckocodes.org/index.php?arsenal=2 (http://geckocodes.org/index.php?arsenal=2))
If the value doesn't reset than try a on/off code or a reset button activator
Reset 2 easy ways
042B496C (original value here)
285C9E28 xxxxxxxx
042B496C EC00D82A
E0000000 80008000
or
285C9E28 xxxxxxxx ---->if
042B496C EC00D82A----> then
2a5C9E28 xxxxxxxx ---> if not
042B496C (original value) ---> then
E0000000 80008000
where x are the same for the two
On/off
285C9E28 xxxxxxxx
042B496C EC00D82A
CC000000 00000000 or 000000001 (on at the beginning)
042B496C (original value)
E0000000 80008000
Now either Thomas83lin will give you the original value or he doesn't have to cause 1: it's already around in the post or 2.the code resets itself after the level has loaded ( which I don't think it does).
Please let me stand corrected Thomas83lin if I'm wrong
.
Hi,
Sorry to "reopen" this old topic, but I've tried to change the invert the 1 & B button on the horizontal mode like on page 6 :

i tried switching the 1 and B button with the remapping code but it just put the one buttons functions on the b button along with the B to roll
You also need to change the activator on the B For Pound Down-B for Blow code to button one, should look like FDFF0200 that away when u hit 1 you'll roll. I'm guessing thats what your trying to achieve
Quote from: NotTheGuy on November 25, 2010, 10:30:31 AM
change it to this and it works perfectly, you forgot to change the B to D
285CBE68 FDFF0200
025CBE6E 0000012C
E0000000 80008000
All these codes are awesome, all it needs is the B button to do the waggling while the nunchuk is in and its complete imo.
So the structure of my .txt cheat file is :
Quote
New modified mapping
285CBE68 FDFF0200
025CBE6E 0000012C
E0000000 80008000
It did affect the B button to the grab function but it didn't affect the 1 button to the "waggle". So it only inverted one of the two buttons.
What did I do wrong ?
Thx in advance
PS. : Sorry if there are any mistakes, English is not my primary language
Has anyone ever figured out a way to put B to roll with the nunchuck attached? Im not fond of holding a button to run.

I really need an invincibility code for rocket and mine kart levels. It is frustrating to lose a life from every hit...
I don't suppose anyone has had any luck with this? This was actually what I came in here to ask about. It was pretty dimwitted design to give the player up to four hearts but make those levels 1-hit-kills on anything and everything. Not even the original trilogy was that brutal.
Normally I can moonjump through them and still pick up everything, but the one in the last world is pretty much impossible to moonjump through AND get all the items. Reason being that the rocks do not open unless you start up the rocket and if you go too high you don't know when you'll come back down giving you no time to hit the button again and escape a lava death.
Alternatively, being able to go into the level with all the Letters and Puzzle pieces, then being able to moonjump all the way to the end would probably work fine. Unfortunately, I've read that the puzzle piece code doesn't actually do anything and is just cosmetic.
There is a new puzzle piece code that isn't cosmetic, its on the database Receive All Puzzles Pieces After Entering Level
Oh, how odd. I guess it was added after the last time I'd gotten codes from the database, cause there's been quite a few new codes added since I looked. That and the new Invincibility code look like they're all I'll need on top of the ones I was already using. Thanks a ton.
i'd like to have one simple "hack"
on the wiimote
just this: shake = 1, grab = b
can someone pelase do it? i would but i'm not sure how.
;D
