August 2010 Update: Oh geez, this is depressing... it's been nearly a whole year now and still nobody seems to care... (I do however greatly appreciate agoaj's attempt (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4114.msg38171.html#msg38171) though)

Man, and I really need that swap shoot and jump to enjoy multiplayer... Do you know how painful it is to watch your dad and sister have trouble playing a game just because two button functions are swapped from their usual places from other games?  And my sister will be going back to college next month, and we'll be bound to play this again before that.  I originally told them that there'd probably be a code by now, but I didn't realize nobody actually cared about this multiplayer control-oversight...

And need I remind you that there's only one other game with decent FPS-style split screen on the Wii, Quantum of Solace.  ONE!  Really, we needed another and MPT multiplayer fits the bill well. (do not suggest other consoles, dual analog feels really primitive after using wiimote aiming, we should all know that)

I would think that AT LEAST it'd be possible to swap A and B COMPLETELY (like it would even be in effect in the menu options) - that'd be better than nothing.

In other news, here's some other more minor control changes that would be nice, but really don't matter much at all.

Single player
swap boost ball and morphball bombs buttons (A = boost ball, B = bombs)

Multiplayer
swap change visor and change beam buttons (- = change beam, + = change visor)
swap boost ball and morphball bombs buttons (A = boost ball, B = bombs)

EDIT: Just a quick thought, it's not important if this gets made into a code or not (would be neat, but not priority), but would it even be possible to choose or switch the player colors for multiplayer?  Mainly it'd be for easier player identification purposes.

The MP1 missile code now is infinite ammo: missiles, morph ball bombs, and power bombs.

If somebody has a save that is pretty far in MP2, it would be helpful for finishing the ammo code there.

I'm working on health and moonjump, but don't know if I'll get them to work.

Thanks so much for the codes, OneUp.

I don't have a save for MP2, but if it'd help, I could get started on an MP3 game. (I got the game yesterday, so I've only just finished MP1.)

Only just finished it?  I haven't played through MP1 completely at all...I need to do that, but wanted to hack some stuff first.  At the moment I can't hack MP3 because I got a faulty disc and I'm gonna have to see if I can replace it, but I'm not sure if the game will be in stock anywhere for an exchange.

^^that might actually be the same dual-layer disc issue Brawl had, since trilogy is a dual-layer disc as well.  Apparently nintendo will repair (or "clean" supposedly) your Wii for free if you send it in, but if you don't want to there's a cleaning kit as well that goes for like 10 bucks I think?

I was wondering too, but I think it's my disc.  I downloaded a copy off the internet and got it to work through hd, whereas when I tried to rip it it didn't work.  I might try cleaning though one of my friends has a kit for that I'll ask em to bring it probably see them this weekend.

Well, I have firmware 3.4 and it works...

Also have you tried the SSE in Brawl?  Supposedly that's what's on the 2nd layer.

Anyway, we seem to be getting a bit offtopic... *waits for a swap shoot and jump in multiplayer code*

Just chiming in to say that cios rev14 breaks dual layered reading AND writing. In otherwords, if you have cios rev14 installed, you definitely can't rip the second layer of the game (which is where Metroid Prime 3 resides) to your HDD, and you might not even be able to play it if you did. Who knows if it'll ever be fixed, but you could try reverting to cios rev 13, or even 9 or 10 (which are the most stable).

A code that can make the game play and save with "Normal" difficulty while using USB Loader would be greatly appreciated.

Note : While using alt.dol method with USB Loader, the game always start and save with "Veteran" difficulty.

I just played 2 hours of multiplayer with my dad and sister and their #1 complaint confirms what I posted earlier:

Why the crap can't you shoot with B and jump with A in multiplayer?!  The A button is the universal jump button, and a trigger button is the universal shoot button!

PLEASE, for the sake of multiplayer fun-ness and non-confusion, someone make a code that'll switch jump and shoot...

(I also find it silly that swapping shoot and jump doesn't swap morphball bombs and boost ball, so that'd be nice as well for both single and multiplayer, but nowhere near as important.)

Discovered that MP2 Infinite missile code also works for beams and added morph ball infinite to it.

Edit: Until further notice that these codes don't give you infinite for all limited ammo, I'll assume they do.

Working on switching b to a and a to b in multiplayer. You'll be able to toggle it with up/left/right on the dpad.
I can only do it for Player 1 and 2 thought because I don't have enough wiimotes for more.

I tried doing this
* 28533118 00000400
* 14533118 00000800
* CC000000 00000000
* 28533118 00000800
* 14533118 00000400
* E0000000 80008000

but that was a bust, doesn't seem to catch it fast enough. Working on inserting assembly before any other functions get their grubby mits on it.

im hoping that some action replay codes from the gamecube versions of primes 1 and 2 can either be ported or made from scratch such as the prime 1 phazon beam enable code that lets players arm and fire it, the prime 2 death ball and the phazon weapon used on Dark Samus 4(i call that one the phazon burst).if these can be made usable in the prime trilogy things should become very interesting.

Your effort is still GREATLY appriciated.

You don't happen to know anyone you could at least borrow a wiimote or 2 from?  If not, well, only 1st and 2nd is better than nothing (only my sis and dad really need it since I can manage to shoot with A, but other people might need it for more than 2 players...)

agoaj, I dont think that code is going to work.
You need to set a read breakpoint on the address and find a funtion that compares it with 800 or 400, something like cmpi rx,400 and then change the 400 to 800.
At least... that's what I think is the right solution.

Post by: OneUp on August 29, 2009, 06:39:26 PM
Hey Romaap, I'm trying to do something like that, but it's freezing the game.
I'm trying to insert it at the breakpoint for the controller, and it might be I shouldn't use r0.
lis r0, 0x8053
lwz r1, 0x300A(r0)
li r2, 0x00000400
li r3, 0x00000800
cmpw r1,r2
bne Skip
stw r3, 0x300A(r0)
Skip:
cmpw r1,r3
bne Break
stw r2, 0x300A(r0)
Break:
stw r0,0(r31)
The last stw is what used to be there before insertion.

I'm also trying to get a moonjump to work...  I read under Black_Wolf's tutorial that it might be good to attach it to the controller address too, but I'm thinking that is a bad idea now...
lis r0, 0x8053
lwz r1, 0x300A(r0)
li r2, 0x00000400
lis r3, 0x804E
lwz r4, 0xFFFFF850(r3)
li r5, 0x0000004C
cmpw r1,r2
bne Skip
add r6, r4, r5
stw r6, 0xFFFFF850(r3)
Skip:
stw r0,0(r31)
Suggestions would be helpful...I'm gonna try some other stuff too though.

Your code probably freezes because you using registers that are already used by the game.

There are only 32 general purpose registers. You'll be fine if you can set them back to what they were once you've done your thing. There are also the gecko registers which have a static address you should be able to put into your asm.

Does anyone have a better suggestion as to where I should load it into memory?  It either doesn't work right now, or it freezes the game.  Or, could someone explain gecko registers better?  It doesn't look like I can just add them to the code...
Title: Re: [Request] Metroid Prime Trilogy [NTSC-U] R3ME01
Post by: agoaj on August 30, 2009, 09:19:01 AM
From Code Type document:
grN : "Gecko Register N". It's not a real register, like r0 or r1. It's a 32-bits value, for which the Gecko has reserved a place in memory. N can range from 0x0 to 0xF. You can store/load anything in it, however be careful that other codes could overwrite your value. Don't expect it to be the same each time the code handler is executed. If you want to store a value that must not change, try to use a "real" address ouside of the code handler, or use the 46/4E code types along with a goto code type. Note that grN are stored before the gecko/code handler. That mean they should always be accessible at a static address : 0x80001804. [0x80001804]=gr0, [0x80001808]=gr1,...,[0x80001840]=grF. That way you can access them directly, when inserting an asm routine for example.

So you should be able to store some data in 0x80001804,0x80001808 etc while working your asm.

Here's that MP3 save for when you need it. First file. It's almost at the end; either 100% items or close to it. Sorry if that's too far. (Also, there's a gold credit in the Phazoids two rooms away, in case you want to play with that.)

EDIT: Also, the MP2 codes (at least, didn't try MP1) make the game crash during the small Trilogy loading screen. (Although I did change the activator to B+Right... Will test the originals, too.)

justpig1, did you press the button activators in-game?

If the mp2 ammo code is crashing in menu, maybe you guys could use neogamma to alt-dol load the mp2 game. (set alt-dol to disk and choose ***mp2.dol.  I can't remember exact name but ends in that.)  The button activator is there so that the game won't freeze->don't activate till in-game.

I've been trying to get health codes, but I'm ending up with floating point values, and I haven't figured out what to do with them yet...

Edit: Just checked and mp2 ammo code, loaded with wiird at health and safety, and activated in game works without freezes.

Tried it, but it just reported "timeout". I don't think I have the right cIOS installed. (I try to keep my Wii as pure as possible.)

A floating point value may or may not just be the HUD health. I was going to say it probably is, but I think you can have fractions of a health point. Especially weak enemies don't always change the numerical health display, so it is possible...
Can you not just poke memory to see what happens?

EDIT: Disregard that, I'm a retard. Seems the first line of the MP2 code--the activator--went missing. Fixed it, trying now...
Yep, it works. All the bombs I want, and a missile count that doesn't go down. (Any chance you could remove the restriction on the number of missiles in the air at once and/or the missile fire delay too? :D)

Yes, see OneUp's NeoGamma suggestion above.
Failing that, try this: Starting from "walking around" mode, press and release 2, then press and hold it (menu up, menu down). Press and release C, then press and hold it (morph, unmorph). Now press Down. If it worked, you should fire a missile, and your missile count goes down. This is normal. Continue firing missiles to see if it worked. (I think that's what worked for me.)

I really don't know why the code wouldn't work :-/  If you load through neogamma with alt dol, you should be able to use this code:
Infinite Ammo (MP2)
C216DC54 00000002
7C1F0051 7C00FA15
60000000 00000000
C2190D50 00000002
3805FFFF 38050001
60000000 00000000

There is a possibility that the controller address I used didn't exist in another part of the game.

Just a thought on the health thing, you could also try some kind of have all energy tanks, that would be just as good really.

Post by: OneUp on September 03, 2009, 05:47:59 AM
To get an energy tank code, I'll have to do some extensive playing I would think.

I added an infinite ammo code for MP3.

I'm getting kind of frustrated trying to figure out the moon jump/health, so I've been playing the game some too.  I'm probably going to boot up MP3 (original) and look at brkirch's codes for it as examples hopefully.  I might figure out health this way, but that moon jump code is too confusing-I don't know all the opcodes used in it.

Alright, I got them to load ok with GXFlush hook type on GeckoOS. If they don't work for you with that hook then the data must change later on durin the game or the codes simply aren't being applied with your applications.

Loaded & worked fine here (Gecko OS & GXFlush; I'm about 2/3 through the game).

Ok just an update using gecko os health and jump works but if I enable infinite missle it causes the wii to restart.

Probably because it's doing things the menu doesn't like.
Either tack on a button activator or use OneUp's Infinite Ammo code (which has a button activator).

justpig1, you sure your game isn't corrupt ;)  I shortened all the ammo codes to follow TNTkryzt's example.  They're now all 4 lines -2 button activator, 2 ammo.  justpig1, have you tried booting with neogamma and alt dol?  for any of the codes I made that the button isn't working for, just remove the first and last lines and you won't have to press a button, but it may crash the menu.

oneup I tried your shortened code it caused the wii to reboot. I deleted the .gct file that I had previously created and started from scratch and TNTkryzt's codes for health and moon jump works. His ammo code crashes the wii. Your ammo code with the activator buttons now work with this newly generated .gct file. I think the file may have been corrupted somehow because since deleting it and doing it over the codes now work. Sorry for not posting earlier got caught up playing the game. Again a big thanks for the codes.

Hey agoaj, if you're reading this, how's your "swap shoot and jump" multiplayer code coming along?  Supposedly my sister will be home for the weekend from college so I was hoping to test out a code then.

Also, anyone planning on doing an "unlock all arenas and music" code for multiplayer?

I really hope that someone can create a code to make the game save (and play) with normal difficulty while using USB Loader.

Many USB Loader users are in need of this code.

I am wondering if this code is too difficult to create.

Many Thanks !!!

I'm having fun with veteran so far, but I'm defeating bosses with 20 health or so left... Without advanced sensitivity the controls just feel wrong to me.  At some point I'll probably want to switch it back to normal though.

I have no idea how USB loaders work, but I'm sure there is a way... If you're booting an ISO, surely that shows the menu... And if you're booting a DOL, surely you can boot the menu DOL...?

Also, TNTkryzt, your multi-jump codes only work when only B is held down... While that's good for morph ball mode (boosting is actually possible, unlike brkirch's MP3 moon jump), it means you can't lock on or hold a charge when jumping (or use the screw attack properly).
Is there some way you could make it activate only on, e.g., "B AND NOT -"? That is, disable moon jump on hold of minus (and only minus)?
(Even better would be when unmorphed, B regardless of other buttons, and when morphed, B AND NOT Z, but I don't know if there's an easy way to check morphedness.)

You might be able to create a switch (like the morph ball button, c) that turns the code on/off?
As far as usb loaders go, you can't choose difficulty because you can't boot into the games from the menu, instead you have to boot through something called the alternate dol method.  So, you start the game and create a save normally, but to play the games you gotta boot straight to them from usb loader, which it is actually quite nice to skip the menus and go straight to gameplay.  I installed it on my hd right after i got it, so currently I'm stuck with veteran on all three games.

I can't do just light/dark and no missile because they all use the same code.  I'm sure there is a register that I could change to do just one, but why do that if I'm making an infinite ammo code?  If you want to get rid of power bombs/morph ball bombs, you can remove the three next to last lines of code, but as before morph/power use same code.
So , without power bombs and morph ball bombs, the code would be:
2853300A BEFB4104
C216DC54 00000002
7C1F0051 7C00FA15
60000000 00000000
E2000001 80008000
(still press the buttons to activate)

Hey TNTkryzt, how is the game crashing on you?  I had some problems in the beginning when I had CIOSCorp 3.2 installed, but after I installed regular IOS and older CIOSCorp etc it has only crashed after multiple searches or me botching some asm code.

It crashes whenever I break on read and attempt to trace back through memory, MP2 is especially sensitive. You don't have that problem?

On freezing, I have had it freeze with incorrect hooks.  I have done breakpoints on write, and left it frozen a good bit while tracing the memory.  But, would read produce different problems?  I haven't tried it much.

I use default hook when hacking and gxflush to apply sd codes. For example on MP1 log book entries, when attempting to trace how r1 got it's value I must have crashed several times and had to eventually search in parts; see if you're able to make it from the branch below back to the stw without crashing, if you can then I need to install some ios's.  ;)

Did you mean setting a read breakpoint on one of them?  Would I have to get new scan data for this to work?  I went into disassembler and could look at both without a problem, but the game wasn't frozen on anything. I'm using VBI hook in case that makes a difference.

Yeah set break on execute, then scan a new creature. I just tried VBI and it still crashes after about 8 steps.

For anyone who can't get the cheat to work they can try this method.

1-Use Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma
2-Set Config to load cheat
3-Reboot using Rebooter from within Backup Launcher
4-Once rebooted launch game from Disc Channel (cheat should now work)

Happy cheating everyone!  (Now I can finally beat Prime 1)

TNTkryzt your codes have been great just one question is there a way to multijump in morph ball mode

The original jump code also had an effect when in morph mode by pressing B, not sure about the latest version. I'll have a look after I'm done with Muramasa.

Yes the multi-jump code for MP2 works in morph mode aswell, just press b after jumping. I've edited the accessories and max ammo/tanks codes for MP2.

The full list for those unaware can be found here (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4147.0.html).

Have you guys figured out a way to avoid the random crashing when scanning?

Is there any way to import these two MP2 codes from PAL to NTSC? Here are the two codes.

Infinite Dark Beam Ammunitions (C+Z+2)
[removed due to no credits]
Press C+Z+2 to switch the cheat on/off
ATTENTION: this will works only if you already get the dark beam

Infinite Light Beam Ammunitions (C+Z+2)
[removed due to no credits]
Press C+Z+2 to switch the cheat on/off
ATTENTION: this will works only if you already get the light beam

Thanks to anyone that helps.

i need gxflush only for codes on trilogy main menu or for every other code?

You need GXFlush for all codes especially for those of MP2 as it was the most troublesome one. I had no problems after assigning the codes with conditional writes.

fix the codes on code database because it shows gxflush only for the unlock codes

i cant get Have Max Ammo & Tanks (MP2) or Have all Accessories (MP2) working, maybe i need to start a new game for that

Well, I finally got a health code working thanks to TNTkryzt and James0x57 for asm advice, and Apache81 for helping me find the correct address.
I'm posting here to test first to make sure I don't kill the game.  Right now, I'll leave it without a button activator, but if people report crash problems, I'll add one.

Infinite Health (MP3)
C2271E8C 00000002
2C050001 41820008
D3BF0004 00000000

Moonjump?...I'm trying to figure it out, but I've never done one before so I'm still not getting something right.

The hook is for the entire game itself. I've just tested all MP2 codes again on GXFlush hook with default language loaded via GeckoOS v1.9.2 SD cheat loader and they all worked fine.

Are you using only the codes for the MP2 as enabling any other games codes will cause problems, if you're using USBloader that will also be a problem (I can't even boot the game with usbloader). Are you using defalut language. I've tested it on normal and veteran modes, can't test on hypermode so that could be a potential problem if thats what you're using.

Try the codes one by one to single out the cause. I can't offer any more advise until I'm able to replicate the problem myself.

i'm using default language and booting on disc through gecko os 1.9.2 and trying vet, i tried to use 1 code only and it crashed, also you made the codes after game started or late game before killing dark alpha splinter? or bomb guardian, i'm trying to use codes right after samus leave her ship for the first time, so thats the reason it isnt working due to the objects not changing to unlocked (some kinda of crystal door with purple crystals), so thats the reason, i need to use farther in-game to get it working without crashes, from being unable to get it loaded

They were created at the start of a new game and played through without any problems. I just created a new game on a new slot and still work without problems. If you're using the codes from the database (http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=R3ME01) then they should work fine on GXFlush hook. Try creating a new .GCT file, using the latest codemanager, other than that I can't really help.

Moonjump has always been a very important, if not one of the most recognizable cheat codes from any of the Prime games imo.

I hope yall can get it working. I don't see how it can be very much different than the way it worked in the original games.

Any luck with codes for unlocking Hypermode Difficulty for all three games?

I'm thinking about getting Metroid Prime Trilogy soon, and I'd rather play through on the highest difficulty right away than first play through Veteran and then probably not bother with going through on Hypermode afterwards. (But I'd still like to unlock everything else on my own, so I don't want to use anyone else's saves.)

You could try what I did - start on normal, but play left-handed (right if you're a lefty).  Having completed Prime 1 on normal, I'm probably half ambisextrious now from it :P (though I did have above-average skill with my left hand before it)

Oh geez, this is depressing... according to the GeckoCodes.org update history, there hasn't been a MPT code made since a month ago -_-

Man, and I really need that swap shoot and jump to enjoy multiplayer... Do you know how painful it is to watch your dad and sister have trouble playing a game just because two button functions are swapped from their usual places in other games?  And my sister will be coming back from college next month, and we'll be bound to play this again.  I even told them that there'd probably be a code by then, but I didn't realize nobody actually cared about this multiplayer control-oversight...

To any coders out there, I will make an offer in attempt to hopefully try to convince someone to make a working code.

Since I am an audiophile, I will convert a custom song or two for Smash Bros. Brawl and to the best of my ability attempt to perfectly loop it as well.  If you do not even know how to use custom music, I will step you through it without just linking you to another site.  No, you need not share me the song file you wish to convert - I'll just do my darn best to find the best quality version you can get (usually lossless 44.1KHz 16bit) unless for some freaky reason I actually cannot find it.

Here is a link of my previous works which you can listen to right on your PC with the vgmstream plugin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/vgmstream/):
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=739f7f32e2637c491686155677bb2685b350351f7c0ade18

If whoever takes up my offer is fearful of me backing out or not delivering, I can even make available a low-quality mono BRSTM first for proof of my work before a working code is available.

But I feel selfish to have someone fulfill only my troubles, so I'll convert and loop another song or two for a code that'll make Hyper Mode difficulty available - this one's for you JediMB.

EDIT: I'll also do yet another song or two for anyone that does the other button-swap request seen here:
http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4114.msg39685.html#msg39685

Note that I recieve instant email notification from PMs and replies to this topic, and I'm on my PC and check email at least once everyday (more-so if the "gmail manager" firefox extension's mail notifier is working properly)

No, because I haven't tried any codes yet because all I really want is a "swap shoot and jump in multiplayer" and don't really care much about the other codes.

I can look into it though and try myself.  You are using the NTSC/American version of the game, right?

Can somebody make a code to switch the + and - buttons with the 1 and 2 buttons for all 3 games.

There is a new light gun called the "Cross Fire" it's made by Penguin something.

This gun isn't a shell! It's basically just a regular Wiimote, but shaped like a gun.  The B button is the trigger,  d-pad and 1 2 and A buttons are also within range of your thumb. You can do a google image search for "CrossFire Wii" and see pics.

It would work much better with the Metroid games if you could easily press + and - instead of 1 and 2. So can those be switched?

Edited to add

You can see pics of it here

...oh that's interesting, it looks like I'm only using Gecko OS 1.9.1.  Why not give that a whirl?

Also it may be the way you're making your codes.  I myself actually use the BrawlPlusTweaker since it's really just a general Gecko OS code manager.

Can someone please make infinite hyper mode for mp3 in trilogy. Which means it always is full and no corruption for it. If someone made it for metroid prime 3 i am pretty sure you can do it for trilogy mp3. Please!

Infinite Hypermode would be nice, especially during the "Phaaze" planet, where you die if your bar reaches full.

Well, try this code out:

Infinite Hypermode Ammo
0415EAB0 60000000
0415E4F8 60000000

I haven't found the timer variable, but it won't consume your energy tanks/health and it will last as long as your hypermode doesn't auto vent.  (I haven't gotten to the point where I could test what happens when you could become corrupted.)  I'm trying to work on a moon jump code again, but not sure how well that will go... I'm surprised no one else has done anything after ~3 months...

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption has a Infinite Hyper Mode code

MP3:C Original Infinite Hypermode [brkirch]
04161048 4800001C
04162A8C 60000000
04162404 48000070

make it more like that

On another note about corruption Make an Infinite Health in Phaaze which also affects This code also disables the Phazon increase in corrupted hypermode.

MP3:C Original Infinite Health (Phaaze) [brkirch]
04161568 60000000
04154888 60000000
This code also disables the Phazon increase in corrupted hypermode.

OneUp if you hack that your problems should be solved.

**Note** Original is MP3:C Version not trilogy

Yah, Hypermode was a real bummer as far as the codes went. Couldn't vent phazon or get out of hypermode by holding "+" so Samus died over and over again so now playing without the code and running through energy tanks alot (i love hypermode alot lol).

Would be nice if it could like freeze the ammo half way or something so u don't die when you're corrupted (since ur phazon supply isn't "full")

Or maybe disable the corruption thing (sounds harder)

But hey, I'll take what I can get my hands on for metroid games :)

Got a couple codes from original Prime 3 working in Trilogy's Prime 3:

Infinite Hypermode [brkirch]
2015D004 4082001C
0415D004 4800001C
0415EAB4 60000000
0415E42C 48000070
E0000000 80008000

Infinite Health (Phaaze) [brkirch]
2015D524 D01F096C
0415D524 60000000
041507AC 60000000
E0000000 80008000

The infinite hypermode code is tested with GeckoOS 1.9.3 and works. You can shoot forever without corruption.

The infinite health on phaaze code I don't know yet (I'm not that far into the game). It should work same as the original code did.

Both codes check to see if Prime 3 is running before activating, so theoretically they should be OK to leave on all the time (not tested with MP1 and MP2 yet, getting too late).

I tried to convert the moon jump code too, but Trilogy is using different registers in and around where the code is injected and it crashes. Currently, my ASM-Fu is too weak to tackle this code.

BTW, In the code database:
Infinite Health, Instant Beam Charge and Infinite Missiles [Zeld]
Does not work for me. The game crashes. OneUp's MP3 codes work fine though.

Do you have GXFlush hook enabled, if so try removing the 1st and 4th lines from the code. If that doesn't help then I'm sorry but I'm unable to help as I no longer have a Wii.

Do I absolutely HAVE to have a USB Gecko for this to work?

EDIT: Well, after trying your suggestion by changing the Gecko OS hook setting back and forth between Default and GXFlush, and having the 1st and 4th lines present and absent, the only thing that happened was the erasing of all of my saves. Guess that's what i get for cheating... Any other suggestions?

and my request is here http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,5320.0.html

Edit: lot of codes eh? The phazon codes are the most important so the others are just optional. thanks ;D
Edit: also being able to load suits from one game too another would be great including abilities of the suits, beam weapons, and visors would be nice, ex: loading phazon suit in mp1 will replace the varia suit log book entry with the phazon suit's, the ability to withstand some of the effects of dark ether like the dark suit exept get hurt by dark water, the ability to use the phazon beam from mp1 by pressing the + when the power beam is equiped, the ability to charge it like when you absorb the phazon with the power beam when you fight dark samus on the escape from Dark Aether, it will say hyper mode when you equip the phazon beam, when you lose the funtions in the suite in the begining of metroid prime 2 you will lose the same things exept your weapons will fuse together to the power beam exept the phazon beam, your visors will fuse with the scan visor. and ill add more later. PS: I a give my thanks  ;D

Just in general, if all the other codes for a game work except for a couple of them, does that mean I'm doing something wrong?

wouldn't mind seeing some mp2-4-T codes. Seems like the "have all accesories" leaves my minimum missile count stuck to 1... :-/

Is it just me or does the mp2 "have all accessories" freeze your minimum missile count to 1 when you decide to start shooting or something?

Tried saving the game with the code, then turning off the code and playing again, only to find lots of stuff missing (can't space-jump or go into morph ball form...)

The same thing happens to me too and in mp2 after you save with "have all accesories" you cant use the morph ball or go in dark water!

noooo! i just got this game a month ago and had to pay 100 bucks to get it cause it was discontinued. oh well. will make use of the codes available though.

>:D >:D >:D

Metroid Trilogy has those hacks now, I've used them all pretty easilly :3 should be able to find it using regular code downloader or the code database.
Also, if you paid $100 you were ripped lol I got it at gamestop for $78.89 X3

Okay. I understand now.

By the way, I don't suppose you could try your hand at making a hyper beam code for MP1 and/or MP2...? (I tried and failed.)

It's possible, someones done it on the gamecube version of the games. not that I can do it X_X but eh, wouldn't it just be a matter of making the game think that samus is standing in the 'hypermode' pools of phason in the final boss arena, possibly via a surface roller code that you toggle on/off with a button activator? Maybe just find a way to make that version of samus's coding (The hypermode samus) replace regular samus's object data or something XD sorry just trying to help :D

I tried by playing up to the Wave Beam and seeing what data changed when I switched beams. As I said, I didn't get anywhere.
There are complete saves on GameFAQs, so I'll grab one of those and try stepping in and out of the Phazon pools. (I don't know when I can, though, I've got more pressing things to do first.)

Yeah I figured that might(Only cause I have no knawlage nor the means to try it myself) help out in finding the "hypermode activation" variables, cause even I can tell that the game actually 'loads/activates' that "mode" wiithout the help of hacking when samus's new suit makes contact with that particular 'instance' of phason. Since obviously it won't happen in 'normal' instances of phason, by which I mean "instance" = the unique type of the phason 'object' in the game's coding that contains said variables that loads/activates the "hypermode"

The game itself says that the suit is able to "enter" a hypermode when in the presense of certain kinds of phason which is stupidly only found in the final boss arena(damn nintendo for making stupid enhancements like that when there's technically phason everywhere!) at the end of the final boss. So yeah, that's the reason for my theory, again I really wish I could help out more than this :D

My only other suggestion that could help would be to use an activation button that's not used in game, like the down key on the pluss pad for instance.
PS: if it sounds like I'm trying to sound smart XD I'm not, I just like to use big words sometimes :P

Hey umm I have a bit of a problem. When I run metroid 1 and 2 with cheats they all work fine. But when I try to run metroid prime 3 in trilogy it freezes on the game loading screen. (the one displayed before you actually start the game.) and my wii remote won't respond along with me eventually having to turn off my wii to reset it.  ???

That's because he wasn't talking to you.

You're using the codes with activators, correct? And only activating them in-game?
What I do is only enable the codes for the game I'm going to play. That way, there's no chance of crashing the game (with incompatible codes, that is).
I'm also using the GXFlush hook, but I don't know if that's relevant to what you're doing.

Um The codes do have activators, but it doesn't make it past the 'game loading' icon. I mean the one just before the opening cinimatic starts when you play it. And yes, I use GXFlush and only the codes for the game I'm playing at that time. Maybe I'll try it with the Wii hook and see if that gets anything done?

I think he was referring to an earlier comment lol I do remember saying the bottom left and right on the pluss padd were useless...
EDIT: and yes, I don't even have time to press anything on the wii-mote before it freezes.

GRRR I wish people were still hacking this game :3 Though I do hope the person I was speaking with is at least trying for the hypermode code in metroid one

Also in some points in the game, I can't move on with the have all accessories code. Maybe someone could have a seperate have all key items code(if the other two games are involved, things like energy tanks, chozo artifacts etc) set aside for that?

Hey, I know nobody wants to give a shit anymore, but incase someone does and would like to try.

Press Left and Right on D pad to change weapon types: (like the old metroid prime games, I miss that feature :(  )
Have fusion suit unlocked left on the d pad + pluss to toggle on and off: could be done with texture hack so u could do it in all three games.
Z+C + left to transform into ZSS in all three games, press again to toggle off/on.

Actually those would be awesome, since the have all accessories code seems to keep you from moving on in some places. This way if you encountered any problems you could turn the suspected acsessories off and turning them back on in the

Also is anyone working on the MP1 "press left or right to enter "hypermode" any time" code yet? I saw somebody do it on the GC metroid prime, so porting that code to wiird on trilogy would be shweet :3

No one is going to go through the thousands upon thousands of rom addr in order to re-write game mechanics
thier is a BIG difference between patching a rom address and and re-writing a game mechanic especially if it's only for a certain situation like multiplayer only
ps it's not an oversight it was done on purpose
hold a charge up beam
press 2
fire charge beam missle combo

Wrong answer.  Apparently you don't realize that the option ALREADY EXISTS FOR SINGLE PLAYER, but it's missing from multiplayer.  AFAIK, that's an oversight by DEFINITION.

Also someone already made a "shoot with B, aim with Z, run with A" code for Resident Evil 4, so it's not impossible.

Also, what the heck does
Quotehold a charge up beam
press 2
fire charge beam missle combo
have to do with anything?  It seems completely out of place, random, and makes no sense at all.

Anyway, I would think that AT LEAST it'd be possible to swap A and B COMPLETELY (like it would even be in effect in the menu options) - that's better than nothing.

Well, I can attempt to see if I can get the logbook code working on my side, but I won't be able to do any code hacking and that stuff if it doesn't work.

However, don't expect a quick response back from me, I already have enough of a backlog of crap to do (that's not to say it's impossible though, it all depends on my mood).

Hi,

It may be a silly question but how do I really use the sharkbyte difficulty modifier ?

I'm using configurable usb loader with ocarina on (gxflush) and I did edit the cheat file by replacing all occurences of X by 0 to get normal difficulty on the 3 games and then generated the gct file.

I'm then launching the game and once everything loaded, I'm pressing left on the wiimote dpad, but I can't see any difference in difficulty (still taking the same amount of damage).

I'm really sorry if this is a dumb question.

Yup, I got the codes txt through configurable usb loader (from geckocodes.org). I did change the X for metroid 1 to 0, put the sd back, enable ocarina with gxflush, enabled the mp1 difficulty switcher and saved the gct file. But when ingame, after pressing left on the wiimote dpad, the amount of damage I take from standard enemies doesn't change.

It's not really that big of a problem, I'll play the game on veteran if needed, but it's gonna take a long time to go through the 3 of them like this :)

Nevermind, I think I got it working in the end (some weird behaviour with CUL). Well, don't know for sure if it is, but if that's hard mode, it's far too easy :p.

Thanks for your help.

edit : confirmed working. Just checked the save status in the trilogy menu, it's saved as "Normal". Thanks again.

Hey Sharkbyte, if you didn't already figure out the 07 codetype, I asked TNTkryzt about it awhile ago.  From what I remember it is a write string command.  The way he uses it is he finds some empty memory and tells it to write his code there and then has a return to where his code was called from.  He said he does it so he can code on the fly.

Seriously guys?  STILL no takers on the "swap shoot and jump for multiplayer" request for my dad & sister?  It's been over a year since I made this request, and it was even the 4th post in this thread.  I don't think you guys realize that they can't enjoy the game until this gets made, and as long as they aren't enjoying it, I myself cannot enjoy it either.

And no, my dad cannot learn to shoot with A and jump with B - it seems to be getting harder for him to learn new things and he's more forgetful then ever.  We're afraid that he may even be starting to get Alzheimer's (his mother died from it).

Well, how about this - a code to do a 'hard' swap of A and B, that is, it would effectively swap the A and B buttons completely, period.

This would end up effecting everything from menus to gameplay to pause screens, but is still much better than having to shoot with A and jump with B.  At the very LEAST I would assume someone could do this, since in theory it should be easier to make a code for (compared to swapping ONLY the jump and shoot actions).

Seriously, if someone could do this, I'll will FOREVER be in your debt...unless there's some custom songs you'd like for Brawl - I can do those very well!

At least the Smash Bros Brawl code hackers care about making codes for changing and/or improving gameplay, but apparently that's the exception to the rule.

So there seems to be a problem/minor inconvenience with the following code:
Press C+Z+2 for Infinite Dark and Light Ammo(OneUp)
2853300A 9EFF6100
C216DC54 00000002
2C000031 41820008
7C1F0051 00000000
E2000001 80008000

The problem being that you get infinite ammo when your ammo count for either beam reaches 49 and the weird thing is you can bypass this, example:
Let's say i have 50 dark ammo and i use a charged shot (which uses 5 dark ammo) you'd think that it would stop at 49 right? Well it doesn't it goes down to 45 and it will continue to go down for each shot, basically the code only works if your ammo count is 49, any way to do this code similarly to the one used in the gamecube version of this game:
Inf. Light Beam Ammo (Mr. Satan)
KUGM-HKN5-TMZUA
UC5M-5QBQ-ZN7W3

Inf. Dark Beam Ammo (Mr. Satan)
NEW8-BJ3Z-6YVX5
QTU4-D54F-44WXF

Edit: Sorry, codes now with credit.
If i remember correctly what these codes do is raise your ammo count to 250, the maximum amount, and makes it infinite. Any chance of doing the same?

In general, I don't like to make infinite codes that set your ammo above what you actually unlocked.  The problem you're having is that it subtracts ammo when you use charged shot, correct?  I'll have to add a conditional case to check for that.  I believe the standard infinite everything should work properly and not subtract from anything else. I'll look into it tomorrow.

Umm... hi there again....

I... kinda feel bad about what I said... I mean, I just wanted to be able to take advantage of the, IMO, fun multiplayer...

Well... we still haven't actually played the multiplayer again from when I got the game near launch, but that's probably because of the said "shooting with A" issue...

I won't give up hope about the code ever being made, but at the same time, it doesn't matter all too much to me anymore...so I'm not gonna be depressed if this never bears fruit.

No offence but your sister is just going to have to get used to reverse buttons.  Lots of people have had to get use to lots of differing control schemes - I myself with MP1 & 2 compared to other first person games in terms of movement, and IMO A should be fire because A is the main button, and jumping comes secondary to firing in this game, as opposed to - say - a platformer.  I mean, think of how much hassle you have put yourself through on such an easy thing to get over.

As for wanting so many codes, have you considered how awesome it would be if you were capable of making your own codes?  There are some games that I really wish there were certain codes for and they never come to fruition, and as a result I've TRIED (it's hard) starting to understand the whole process.  Maybe you could give it a go too?  And hopefully have more luck from me! ;)

Also, no offence intended, but from the way you write... do you have OCPD or Aspergers at all?  Call it a hunch. :)

This game already has plenty of codes, but I nonetheless have a request to make. This game gives you "credits" for achieving various things in-game, and you can use them to unlock bonuses from the main menu, including a screenshot tool and the Fusion Suit for Prime 1.

I want to get my credits legitimately, but don't want (and, currently, am not able) to connect my Wii to the internet. Therefore, at the moment, friend credits (the green ones) are inaccessible due to the pointless and annoying friend voucher mechanic. It's entirely possible to legitimately obtain far more friend credits than you actually need, so I am willing to hack myself a large number of them (at least 15), but I don't want to end up with 99 of every other kind of credit.

If anyone wants to pick this project up, I'd be very grateful. For reference, here's two codes that affect friend credits. I've personally tested the latter; it doesn't work, but it might be useful for making it easier to find the right bit of memory.

The line used to ensure this code is not active unless Corruption is being played can be used for other codes!

I need a working Moon Jump code for MP3... I fixed the one that Sharkbyte made, but it glitches when going through certain doors. The door moves forward graphically, then shuts. But because the door is not in the "doorway", when you try to exit the way you came, even if you shoot the door in it's "new" position, the room disappears and doesn't stay loaded once you're in it.. Also, if you go through a different door than the one you entered the room from, that door glitches, too. An example room that glitches the door when you enter is Reliquary III on Bryyo. The save room before the Temple of Bryyo is also glitched. The fixed code I used is:
