No, it's not better to increase the value, 99999 is the max for this game

These two not fully tested:

Exp After Battle
04559C40 xxxxxxxx

GP after battle
04559C44 xxxxxxxx

Many thanks for these.

Would it be possible to manipulate drop rates somehow? The other major plus would be not having to grind for those 1/1024 drop rate chance items.

so I just replace the x value with how much exp I want?

Hmm, I'm having trouble getting Gecko to load the FFIV channel. I can run the game fine straight from the menu, so I don't think I'm missing any vital IOSs for it. It's just that Gecko gives me an "Error Loading Channel" message when it tries.

Before anyone asks, I have 3.2U, never had 4.0, and it reads the channel list just fine, it just won't boot the specific channel. So I don't think it's because of the IOS downgrade that many people need. Anybody run into this problem? Do I need a specific hook?

Try the VBI hook.

Hmm, unfortunately that didn't work. I ended up trying ALL of the hooks, and none of them worked. Gecko also isn't loading Muscle Koushinkyoku (Muscle March) for me, though most of the VC stuff I've tried (Metroid, Kirby 64) loads fine. I admit I'm at a loss.

Are you able to use the rebooter?

Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: doctorfaust on June 05, 2009, 04:00:15 AM
Sorry if I'm missing something, but doesn't the Rebooter just apply stuff for what's in the drive? If I tell Gecko to do it then it applies codes to the disc in the drive but that's it.

EDIT: Did some more poking as well...
For a slightly older game (Oboro Muramasa), both GeckoOS and the Ocarina standalone app applies codes correctly.
For a new game (ArcRise Fantasia), Ocarina applies codes correctly. GeckoOS boots the game but even though it says 'codes applied', the codes don't actually seem to work.
And AFAIK there's no way to apply the Ocarina standalone app to FFIV The After (Wiiware), and GeckoOS won't even boot it.

So GeckoOS works some of the time, but I dunno, it seems like there's something about these newer games that's messing it up? But I think I saw reports of people using GeckoOS successfully on ArcRise Fantasia, so I don't know if my Wii is missing something GeckoOS needs. I also have a Wiikey in my Wii, which may be confounding things.

no specific hook is needed...the problem lies in your game
grab another different copy of the game should fix your problems

Some more codes

[Infinite HP]
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180
300001A8 FFFFFFFF
14000014 0000270F
140006C4 0000270F
14000D74 0000270F
14001424 0000270F
14001AD4 0000270F
E0000000 80008000

[One hit to kill enemy]
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180
300001A8 FFFFFFFF
34002184 00000001
14002184 00000001
34002835 00000001
14002834 00000001
34002EE5 00000001
14002EE4 00000001
E0000000 80008000

Took a little effort to find two locations, as the game seems to reuse the same memory block most of the time.  (probably no new mallocs since the last free call.  Anyhow,  should be easy to hack in other battle related codes.  A character's structure is 0x6B0 bytes in size, starting from the pointer address.  5 in a row reserved for our characters,  and a number of them immediately after, reserved for enemies.

Strangely enough, no random battle is proving harder to find.  Here is another code though, that will help with serious pwnage of enemies/bosses.

[Always your turn]
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180
300001A8 FFFFFFFF
18000350 00000001
200406B0 00000000
18000358 00000001
200406B0 00000000
E0000000 80008000

Kiss your waiting time for your turn and spell casting good bye.

There a way to manipulate the drop rate for monsters? Or at least get rare monster items? Or summons?

It should be Mindflayer, at least that's what it says.

BTW can you find Mythril Bolt and Mythril Nut? They aren't very rare compared to summon items, but they're used to revive certain characters. (Mythril Spring is also needed, but you will get them anyway if you examine around the Agart cave.)

Thanks.

Don't forget to include the most Powerful Sword and Shield in the game that Everyone can equip

Tokita Sword - Can slice through any protection
Akiyama Armor shield - Blocks any kinds of attack

Ah yes, of course. I should've known that. My console's running in JP so I don't actually see any of the English names.

Mithril Bolt - AAF
Mithril Nut - AB3

I didn't see those items, but again I'm running the JP language version so the names might have changed. Some of the strongest equipment I saw were:
C37 Ultima Weapon
C3B Adaman Shield
C3F Adaman Helm
C43 Adaman Kote

There's also
C6F Debug no Ken
C73 Debug no Tate

In other words "Debug Sword" and "Debug Shield", this may be the things you are talking about as anybody can equip them and they give 255 ATK and 255 DEF/100 MDEF respectively, but as the name implies they are debug items and cannot normally be obtained during the game.

And now a question...
Along those lines, I successfully used caithsith2's Infinite HP and One Hit Kill codes the other day, but today when I went to use them I got a stack dump error. Anybody know why, and more importantly, anybody know how to fix this?

Those should be it, it does 9999 damages. all accuracy x99%

As to fix caithsith2's Infinite HP and One Hit Kill codes, you might need to add DE000000 80008180 after 48000000 805560C0 or use a different IF code in the first line.

For reference you can stack the item codes, Although the One Hit Kill Code still glitches on me.

And if we got item requests, can we get the code for a Lilith rod?

Here are few cheats that would be worth trying to make:

-Having custom party members
-Walk through anything
-can use tents anywhere
-faster sprint

that IMO could be fun.

BTW I had the game freezing but music kept going in Porom's chapter when I went to meet Rydia at her place. I had the following codes ON:
INF health
always your turn (full AP meter)
custom made infinite money cheat (changed the value to FFFF)some 65000Gil....
save anywhere
infinite MP (taken in heteroan?)
have those items that gives +50 mp and 100 hp... (taken here)

the problems are on the In Battle Codes (HP,MP,Gauge)..the address changes and the value at the address is different when it's out of battle

this should be every item in the game, although I have no idea from where the items actually start I counted a rough estimate of the slots and looks like it could go up to FFF, I might have missed a few items at the beginning though.

I generated the list through a php script, beats typing all the addresses by hand

oh looks like I hit the cheat lines limit in gecko os with this one >_>

anyway isn't there any way to make a code that does that stuff in just 2 lines? I remember seeing these kind of codes on the GBA, the problem is that I don't know the code format and if that is allowed, it was called something like slider code or something

this should be every item in the game, although I have no idea from where the items actually start I counted a rough estimate of the slots and looks like it could go up to FFF, I might have missed a few items at the beginning though.

There is a way to make the code using only 2 lines, look at the Codetype document under Serial
and all your codes should start with 004F3xxx (8bit) not 044F3xxx (32bit) and there are about 490 total items in the game including those items you couldn't normally get from normal gameplay.

I used the code posted earlier in the topic as a base.

Anyway I looked into it and I think I came out with this:
084F3E15 00000063
01EA0004 00000000

If I read it right it should write 63 at address 4F3E15 then increase the address by 4
I'm going to test this now

edit: lol it crashes the game, must have done something wrong, maybe the whole code is wrong

edit 2: from further tests I can determine that the basis is right, I just need to know exactly the start address and how many items are there, exactly.
084F3XXX 00000063
0YYY0004 00000000

XXX is the final part of the address from where the items start, YYY is the number of total items

unfortunately I'm limited by the lack of usb gecko meaning I can't test single addresses in a short time

It couldn't be a 5 (0084F3E15), it's either a 3,7,B, or F, and the item starts much earlier than xx4F3E15, even in your previous codes, it started from xx4F388F, how come it suddenly jumps to 3E15 as the starting point?????
To find the right address with usbgecko:
poke an Address with a vlaue then goto Item>Organize, if the address is correct then a new item will appear with the # you specified
repeat, or return to title and reload the game if necessary...

as I said I don't have usbgecko so I have no way to know where the items start from, I'm just trying to guess basing myself on previously posted codes

it's not done through a code, it's done through downloading the complete DLC pack illegally and installing it on your wii
or just wait one month

Oic...then you'll have to wait for someone to come up with the correct addresses.

what do you mean you dont have the chance to buy wii points? lets see, you're on a cheat site that uses either the gecko channel or gecko usb to cheat in games and you want to cheat in the game right? why not just install the DLC wad and get all the stories?

I played around with your original all item code and managed to get it to work using the first XXX used in the 400+ line code you had before.  It seems to mess up the item list (you'll have a ton of one item "covering" the list) ,but if you save and come back to the game without Gecko OS, the item list will be normal.  However, there are some items missing.  I changed the code to:

084F382F 00000063
01EA0004 00000000

And this also works, but is still missing some items (it adds some items and removes some that were there before... probably because the YYY from your code needs to be increased??).  I really don't know what I'm doing, but I think with a little more trial and error a complete item list can be made.  I think the 82F is nearly the beginning (I say nearly because HI-Potions are there, but Potions aren't)... however, there could be stuff before Potions in the list.

Anyways, just wanted to let you know, you're on the right track.  Keep up the good work.

ALSO... any chance of finding a code to increase drop frequency (there are a couple items that increase it a little bit, but I was thinking more like 100% chance of a drop with maybe 30-50% of a rare item drop if the monster has one)?  This would help me a lot (I'm making a guide and would really like to include a complete item list, as well as a complete drop list for monsters).  Thank you.

I could determine that the address 82F is not the first address in the list of items, it's probably somewhere in the middle
you'd have to try addresses lower than 82F and of course increase YYY accordingly.
clicking organize shows you all the items in order, the only problem is that some times there are gaps of invisible items, my guess is that the code takes you over the end of the list, thus putting garbage data in the item list (which is not shown by the engine).
in the GBA FF4 weird stuff would happen when using item values out of the list (in FF4 items were values, not addressess) like for example conversations being put in the item slots.

anyway could anyone find the spells characters know? I'd love to play with these, going out of the list in FF4 revealed enemy attacks, which only worked in the snes version

(oh and the original item code was not mine anyway, I think it was made by doctorfaust, I just used the address to make the slider code)

Hey guys, noob at Wii Hacking and such here, I wanted to know if anybody can help me get these codes working? I am using Wii Firmware 4.0U (I actually tried downgrading, and every step seemed to work without errors, but it still says I have 4.0U), Homebrew Channel 1.0.3, Gecko OS 1.9.1, and the PC Code Manager (I don't know what version since it doesn't seem to be listed). Anyway, I use the code file from the Database on this site, and it adds the codes to the manager, I select the ones I want, go to turn them to .gct and it says that my game has no ID, because the Manager can't recogize four digit IDs. However, I read that Gecko will still recognize it anyway, so no biggie, I put the .gct file into the codes folder on the root of my SD card, the load up Gecko on my Wii. I go to load my FFIV channel from it and it says "No codes found on SD card" and then loads the game with no codes running. I'm stumped, as I've tryed all different things, from changed the layout of the .txt document, to changing the title from WF4E to WF4E01. However, nothing works. Any help guys?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I downloaded the code file on this site by right clicking and pressing save as, if that makes a difference. I've heard of something called a code downloader that downloads the files from this site. Now, while I'm obviously able to download them without it, I'm wondering if saving as is somehow downloading them in an incorrect manner, and that perhaps that's why they aren't working. An answer on that would also be much aprreciated.

Jackomel, are you cucciolo on GameFaqs?  If not, then someone is taking credit for someone else's work.  And, if it is you, posting the code there probably isn't the best idea.  A)Most of the people there don't seem to be overly bright, and you'll just confuse them  ;) and
B)The overzealous moderators on that site might feel the need to moderate the post just because they seem to feel the need to crap on anything they don't feel fits in their nice little world of playing the game "normally".  I half expect the items list I submitted to be rejected on those grounds, and the post I made about it to be deleted.

Oh, and the "garbage" data you referred to, is what I was talking about when I said that there was a ton of one item "covering" the list.  Saving and then reloading the game without codes will fix this.

Anyways, I may play around with the numbers some more later to see if I can find the beginning of the list.

Ok, I've played with the code some more... putting in possible numbers in for XXX without changing YYY (because I think that number is correct).  This code:
084F3503 00000015
01EA0004 00000000
seems to work.  No apparent glitches (ie the multiple item "garbage" data is no longer an issue).  I'm not sure if 503 is the perfect XXX, it may be off a position or three... I'm not really sure how to know for sure.  Anyways, 503 is pretty close to the magic number.

I just tried it with 5EA as YYY because I wanted a broader amount of items...
as a result my inventory was filled with iron shield and  mage robe
ok maybe 1EA is right

EDIT: I finally managed to count all the slots, they are 512, 200 in HEX meaning YYY should be 200 no matter what
now it's just a matter of finding the real starting address

I believe, the total # of items are 22 pages (22 per page) and 6 items (22x22=484+6=490)
Count the # of items you have...
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: mynockx on June 13, 2009, 07:49:31 PM
So there are 512 or 490 total items?  I have 486 right now, which means I'm missing either 4 or 26.

Just for reference, I started with 42F as XXX and that screwed up my characters (I had 5 characters, where there should have been 2, and all had the portrait of the hooded man, plus what should have been Ceodore had the name of one of the ninjas from Edge's tale... going to the status screen froze the game).
This means the starting position is between 42F and 503. (Unfortunately, I think this is about 52 possible positions).

You're modifying the characters, Character values are from 00 (Cecil Paladin) - 1E (Man in Black)

ok, just to get this over with on the item list
try 4F7
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: mynockx on June 13, 2009, 08:12:07 PM
I just tried 4F3 and that made the moon phase immediately jump 2 phases when I started up the game, and there is still an odd number of items in my inventory.  And I have 22 pages and 3 items now... which equals 487 (which is probably what I had before, since I did have an odd number of items in my list).

EDIT: 4FF appears to do the same things as 4F3
EDIT 2: Oops, the moon phase thing wasn't because of the code... I had spent over an hour noting new items and saved without going back to the map screen.  Plus, I forgot to Organize the item screen... so, I'll post again in a few with results.

EDIT 3: This seems to be the code:
084F34F3 00000063
01EA0004 00000000

I now have 22 pages plus 6 items on the 23rd (for 490 total).

very nice, I'm trying this now

edit: mmh... it still leaves me with an empthy page, still missin 22 items, maybe we should increase YYY by 22?

editra:by using 200 as YYY I got a "not used" item stuck in first position, I saved now I'm looking for extras

editga: now this needs a button activated code, hang on while I try to make one

editja: ok I came out with this, should enable by pushing right + 1 (you are holding the controller sideways so it should be down)

202710D8 00000204
084F34F3 00000063
02000004 00000000
E0000000 80008000

another edit: it doesn't work, I'm probably doing something wrong :/

Are you sure that you're not using the button address for the Classic Controller?
and 200 is not the correct value for it

Enough guessing already, here's the math for those who wants to make an All Items code
804F34F7 first item
804F3CAB last item

But, there's no point of playing the game with an ALL Items code

Always Good Status in Battle (including Alive with 0 HP)
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180
300001A8 FFFFFFFF
14000098 00000000
14000748 00000000
14000DF8 00000000
140014A8 00000000
14001B58 00000000
E0000000 80008000

Guys, got another freezing issue, at the end of star-crossed Damcyan,  when returning to Damcyan castle, one texture tile is changing constantly and then when you go to the throne room it freezes on the black screen. this time I used the following codes: inf HP, Infinite MP middle character, always your turn.

so it's sure to be the in battle codes.

Replace the first 2 lines
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180

With
48000000 805560C0
DE000000 80008180
300001A8 FFFFFFFF

should solve your In Battle codes freezing problems

Of additional note,  if you grabbed the codes before my recent edit,  then they most likely were

225560C0 00000000
48000000 805560C0

If that is the case, What g6flavour said.  Replace that with his suggestion.

Awesome, now I don't have to grind myself retarded for rare items drops.

If you want me to help you out AsianKing, Just tell me.

Edit: Okay I'm missing something since these don't work with doctorfaust's code, or is it based off hetoan2 item slot modifier?

Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)

It's an item slot modifier, so it's based on hetoan2.

Hmmm, I used the Hetoan code for slot 1 to get the lilith rod, but it just made the item invisible
044F3CF0 0000000e

Edit: Tried it with several slots with both the lilith rob and stone blade, All I get is the item to turn invisible.

Did you have any items in those slots before using those codes? If yes, then try choose Organize in the Item Menu.

Yeah, there was an item there. potions, I even tried organize several times where it moves weapons and armor first, it just causes them to disappear if they are in the first slot. (It reappears if elsewhere)

Here's the code list I got in it's entirety. (Although I only activated the slot item codes)

QuoteWF4E
Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)

Exp After Battle
04559C40 00500000

Imp, choose Organize
004F388F 00000050

Bomb, choose Organize
004F3893 00000050

Cockatrice, choose Organize
004F3897 00000050

Mindflayer, choose Organize
004F389B 00000050

Slot1 Item Modifier Lilith Rod:
044F3CF0 0000000E

Slot2 Item Modifier Stone Blade:
044F3CF4 00000022

Obviously the first part is right, but there must be something missing from asianking's code since I've tried 4 of them and they all go blank. Since I don't see how I'm screwing this up

Slot1 Item Modifier [hetoan2]:
044F3CF0 0000XXXX

Slot 2 [hetoan2]:
044F3CF4 0000XXXX

just got back home and yeah, this game is a pain to hack.

Well the item modifier isn't included the qty. So this means you have to add the qty. Without the qty code; it means nothing. I don't wanna have to go through detail, but I'll assume you know what I'm talking about. If the items only goes up to FF then possiblities you can add 63CE for the digit and it'll give you 99 of potion, but it max out to 16bit so it has to have it own codes.

Try this codes and see if it's visible to you:

99 Potion
024f382a 00000063 - qty code
044f3cf0 000000CE - item code

I also think infinite slot are possible in here, but I'll take a look on some other time or when I have the time. XD

Extra info: (You don't have to read it unless you feel you need to know)

I think this is what happen, Each items have their own qty codes. It's not because of the organization or reformatting the table. From my understand; I used to hack psx games and this is how the code works.
If item in slot 1 is potion and I buy more potion so I can track the qty. It would give me (8042116A 0063). If I sell all the potion while having the qty code on and the potion disappear then it means that each item has their own qty code. If the potion still exist then it means that any item modifier code that is replaced (potion) will automatic be 99 (Called "Inf Slot #"). So if the game have "Inf Slot #", usually the code would be 2 digit different from item modifier.

Example:
80421168 00CE
8042116A 0063

So... does anyone know if there is a way to modify the item drop rate for monsters?

Another handy code would be to be able to cycle through which monsters appear, assuming the monsters are listed in order like the items were.  What I'm thinking is have the first monster in the list always appear until a certain button combination is pressed.  The button combination would increase the variable that determines what monster (or set of monsters) appears.
Seems like there was something like this for game genie for Final Fantasy III on SNES, except for I think I had to manually change the code in order to change the monster (which meant resetting constantly).

I don't know if either of these codes would even be possible, but they would sure come in handy.  Essentially, I'm interested in what's in the game (ie items, monsters, stats, drops, etc).  Alternatively, would it be possible to hex edit the game to have a look at what's there (I've only done this with a DS game once, so I'm not sure what's possible)?

Yeah, there was an item there. potions, I even tried organize several times where it moves weapons and armor first, it just causes them to disappear if they are in the first slot. (It reappears if elsewhere)

Here's the code list I got in it's entirety. (Although I only activated the slot item codes)

QuoteWF4E
Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)

Exp After Battle
04559C40 00500000

Imp, choose Organize
004F388F 00000050

Bomb, choose Organize
004F3893 00000050

Cockatrice, choose Organize
004F3897 00000050

Mindflayer, choose Organize
004F389B 00000050

Slot1 Item Modifier Lilith Rod:
044F3CF0 0000000E

Slot2 Item Modifier Stone Blade:
044F3CF4 00000022

Obviously the first part is right, but there must be something missing from asianking's code since I've tried 4 of them and they all go blank. Since I don't see how I'm screwing this up

Slot1 Item Modifier [hetoan2]:
044F3CF0 0000XXXX

Slot 2 [hetoan2]:
044F3CF4 0000XXXX

After taking a look at WiiRDGui, the Item Modifier codes are completely useless in this game since it behave differently than other RPGs. The only way to get the items you want is by using their Quantity slot (their Quantity Slot determines both the quantity and item itself).
For example, to get 80 Imps, you'll need to enter the quantity at the Imp address 804F388F (wiird gui address)
Imp, choose Organize
004F388F 00000050

As, for the Item Digits posted by asianking, those are only good for modifying the characters equipments individually.

Hi all, can someone explain how does the no random battle codes work?

the code title says "B+Upward On, B+Downward OFF", is that with the Wiimote holding up right or side way? and by upward/downward I assume it's the dpad?

I've tried both ways and it does not seem to work, nor does it work with classic controller.

I'm thinking of not using the joker and just not have any random battles at all, will this 2 lines of code do it?

Hmmm, I used the Hetoan code for slot 1 to get the lilith rod, but it just made the item invisible

Edit: Tried it with several slots with both the lilith rob and stone blade, All I get is the item to turn invisible.

Can u try this code:

lilith rod

stone blade

Thanks again, the best part is about the organize codes are that they can be stacked so you can use as many as you want at once. I'm sure there's a limit, but I've tried all the item codes that have been made already and no detrimental effects.

It's for the Wii Remote sideway (Horizontal), Upward as in walking Upward, otherwise, I would just say Up if it's vertical. Updated the Cheat Database with a Note that it;s for the Wii Remote.
If you remove the Joker then you'll not be able to turn the code off in-game and that means you will only get 1 random battle per loading game.

shoot, i got all the codes, but I want it to make it shorter... I'm stuck with combining codes. Can someone with combining technique help me with this.

16bit code

Starting is
804f382A

End is
804F3B6E

Going up by +4 from Start until it reaches End.

value should not exceed 63 (hex).

Use the Serial Code

CST4: Serial Code

08______ 000000XX : 8bits serial code (ba) 0NNNZZZZ VVVVVVVV Writes NNN+1 bytes (XX) at ba+address, then makes XX+=VVVVVVVV, address+=ZZZZ

08______ 000000XX      ______ = address , XX = Value
0NNNZZZZ VVVVVVVV   NNN to # of times to repeat, ZZZZ = offset between each address, VVVVVVVV = increase value by, in this case 00000000

Correct me if I'm wrong, I did test the code and it does give me the result as well, but the qty aren't what I expected.

Use the 16bit structure:
CST4: Serial Code
08______ XXXXXXXX : 32bits serial code (ba) 2NNNZZZZ VVVVVVVV Writes NNN+1 words (XXXXXXXX) at ba+address, then makes XXXX+=VVVVVVVV, address+=ZZZZ

Starting at 804f382a, end at 804f3B6E, incr by 4, qty at 63 (hex)

So the outcome is:
084f382a 804f3b6e
00000004 00000000

Where do I put the qty at? I try 00630004, but it give me a funny result ??? Also, I can't equip anything cause of the qty is high that full up inventory.

804F3B6E - 804f382A = 344/4 = 86, total repeat 86 more times

Oh yeah and don't forget to change the qty to 62 (hex) otherwise you won't be able to equip items.

EDIT:

For some reason, I'm still missing items, such as the lith rod flame claws and stuff...

the (almost) complete specification of a slide code (that's how they were called on the gba) should be:
08XXXXXX 0000YYYY
ZZZZVVVV 0000TTTT

XXXXXX is the memory address
YYYY is the value to set
ZZZZ is how many times to repeat the code
VVVV is by how much should ZZZZ increase every time
TTTT should be by how much YYYY increases every time, didn't have an use for it

---------Ur Codes--------
Enough guessing already, here's the math for those who wants to make an All Items code
804F34F7 first item
804F3CAB last item

--------Combining--------

804f3CAB-804f34f7 = 7b4/4 = 1ED -1 = 1EC

code:
084f34f7 00000062
11EC0004 00000000

My qty is off... 1644167266 and yet still missing a few items, but I guess it's alrite, just need to work on the qty now.

EDIT

Geesh, I completely ignored this message then come back and see it... GODLY, I think I need to take a big break. Thanks Jackomel! My work is done.

i kind of confuse here... Ur code:

When do u subtract 1? like for example:

804f3CAB-804f34f7 = 7b4/4 = 1ED -1 = 1EC

code:
084f34f7 00000062

Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)

you need to subtract 1 because the code writes 1 time + ZZZ, so if you dont subtract 1 then it will write 1 address too far.

I don't think g6flavor  subtract his code. Because if he were to subtract; it would be 1EC. Which he have 1ED.

804f3CAB-804f34f7 = 7b4/4 = 1ED -1 = 1EC

The code would be:
084f34f7 00000032
01EC0004 00000000

but he have it

804f3CAB-804f34f7 = 7b4/4 = 1ED

code:
084f34f7 00000032
01ED0004 00000000

Which means he did not subtract.
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: g6flavor on June 19, 2009, 10:31:17 PM
My bad..you shouldn't have minus 1 when you subtract between 2 addresses because you have already -1 when you did the math 804F3CAB - 804F34F7 = 1ED
example: if 804F3CAB = 5 (the 5th item) and 804F34F7 = 1 (the 1st item), it would be 5 - 1 = 4, you repeat the code 4 more times when using the Serial Codeyype

If you have a long series of codes and you want to make them short using Serial Codetype, then you minus 1 from the total # of codes when doing a Serial

But, I still dont see why this code won't give you 22 pages and 6 Items on page 23
2+A for all items x50
2827107a 00000900
084F34f7 00000032
01ED0004 00000000
E0000000 80008000

The Debug Ring should be the last item on the list

btw, if you want to boost your characters stats to 99 Strength, Agility, etc...it can be done after they reached their max level, exp.

Okay, I will try to explain exactly what I try to do:

I want to get back Calca and Brina t the end of Rydia tales, I know we can save them but we cannot have them in your party at the end. I want to know if it is possible with a code to put them back in our party with their level, weapons, stats, etc... ?

If you saved Calca and Brina, using the 3 items (check gamefaqs) you got from the cave before ending the Rydia Chapter. Then they'll be available at the last chapter after you enter the Moon.

Thanks for all the hard work on this game so far. The All Items works awesome, but it's a bit too much. Hope one of you guys are working on a complete list of item modifier codes. Asianking's (couple pages back) is not complete and missed a lot that I see in game with the All Items code.

For example all the v2 rings, and the stuff that modifies xp and rare drops.

if u read above or earlier pages, there are two different code that are posted. use those for your missing item.

g6flavor is kind enough to posted the code. use his code and see if u miss any item. For me, I got the debug ring, but I don't know what else is missing. Not important to me because I have the important items already.

To beta test maybe ? =O

I tried to find a charecter modifier code but I find anything. >.<
I only find a code who change 4 character to the same and at level 0. Oo
Yes, it's kinda strange...after you change the characters, sometimes they become a frog in the Menu screen and not appear in battle, other times they don't have any Magic on their list and they don't gain any exp after battles, so they can't level up

No, it's just the same codes.
Try these values:
19 for Brina, 18 for Calca

It won't do you much good..since after you turn off the code, even after you saved the game with them..you'll still lose them when you load the game with the codes off.

Here is the list I was looking for, but instead spent many hours and many resets (no usb gecko) to make. It contains every item in game. Enjoy everyone.

Change the YY to whatever quantity you want (hex value, not actual). Thanks to Asianking for the starter list (which was missing 'Remedy' halfway through and gave me a lot of extra work.

I put the code on and I exit the Sealed cavern, they dont leave the party et they keep all they stats but they have now the "None" title (And I have saved). =O

Sorry about asking so many questions... but he existe a code to change the status ? ><
Try load the game without using their codes and see if they'll disappear or not. By "change the status" , do you mean changing from Good Status to Frog, Pig, Mini or the max strength, agility?

I'm at the beginning of the game, i dont know if that makes a difference

Most of your codes had already been posted on the previous pages, and if you reload your save file a few times, you might see that the In Battle Codes address changes. So, your In Battle Codes will sometimes works and sometimes fail and without using an IF code or button activator they might also crash the game.

djvj, nice list..it's good for getting any items in the game and asianking's list is good for modifying any character's equpiment in the game, for example, equip 5 swords (left, right, head, body, accessory?)

Here is the value for the Most Powerful Magic in the game:
5E = Twin Meteor , basically, it's the same as Meteor but it could surpass the 9999 damage barrier and the best thing is that it requires 0 MP :)

I remember when I hacked the GBA version of FFIV, i had 2 sets of codes one for World Map and the other was for Dungeons... I wonder if it's the same here...

They realy in the game or just beta ? I test them with the code and it for the Doll. =O

g6flavor: I mean to put back their "Doll" title, but it is okay now, I only must to finish the chapter with the 3 items to revive them, it probably a code to verify if they saved or not.

None title: Not saved
Doll title: Saved

It is cool to have them in the team at the end of Rydia Tale. =D

I'm pretty sure they are usable when I saw them. I have a feeling some of these items are left over from FF4 but still usable. Although I am not sure where you would get a lot of them during normal play.

Looking through that item list.

Knife               A super-sharp knife
Note: I think this is like the one that could be thrown in
the original Final Fantasy IV for massive damage

That is indeed the purpose.  It does 9999 damage when thrown.  (Or ~25500 if you have a limit ring equipped.)  In other words, it is the most powerful thrown weapon in the game, period.

NICE!!! Now, you could do some serious hacking!!!!!

1. in WiiRDGui, change the memory range from 80000000 81800000 to 804D0000 804E0000

2.Goto the Status screen of a character, and put down the Current Max EXP # into WiiRdGui's Specific Value search box and click on Convert Dec to Hex, choose on 32 bits and click on Start to search

3. You'll probably get 1 search result, goto that EXP address in the Memory Viewer
the next 32 bits address to the right of EXP is the Hand address for Weapons(1=left,2=right,3=both), next address is the Current Max HP, next address is the Current max MP, next 5 addresses are the Equipment (Left,Right, Head, etc..), next 24 addresses is for White Magic, then next 24 address is for Black Magic, and follow by Summon

To put it in short, find the Current Max Exp address and add 24Hex = first White Magic address

It doesn't matter what Magic you put into the White Magic slots, as long as when you select White Magic, it'll display up to 24 of any kind of spells (white, black, summon,Ninjutsu)

The most useful Magic in the game that needs 0 MP to cast are Twin Meteor, Regenerate or Reraise (both have the same effect, cures all status with Full HP and MP restored) and Big Bang is not bad

Updated my Item list on page 8 with some spelling fixes on names. g6flavor, you should post it on the code database so everyone can use. I don't have access to post there.

Ok, so it looks like we've got codes to modify items, characters, and magic/abilities... along with a few things like HP, MP, and gil.  Has any progress been made in modifying what monster appears?  How about stats?  Any way to make a spell/ability always work (specifically Cid's Analyze, the Libra spell, Bestiary item, etc)?  How about adjusting monster's item drop rate (besides with the items that raise the rate a little)?

As for abilities, can I get a code that will give at least one character Edge's "Smash and Grab" (or whatever his Steal/Mug command is called)?

I wish I had the tools to look for these things myself, but I don't, so I have to ask.  I'd really like to make a complete bestiary to go along with my complete item's list (which someone else posted earlier in this thread), and some codes along the lines of what I'm asking for would really help.  The creator(s) of any codes that I use to find out everything I can about all the monsters will get credit in the bestiary.

Any other codes that I'm not thinking of right now, that could help the cause, would also be much appreciated.

A code to go in any location.

Ex: You use the last digit to teleport in some place.

00: Baron
01: Mist cave
etc...

Whenever I have a character in those slots their battle gauge stays full, but if i select anything other than attack the move still hast to fill the gauge like normal.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

All Stats are capped for each Level...if Max Stats works for Level 1, it won't work after the character reached Level 2, etc... to make it work for all levels, you might need many lines of codes....

As for drop rate code...only got a 100% fixed Item Drop so far (actually, drop up to 10 fixed items per battle)...if anyone knows how to make Exp,Gp, or DropRate multiplier then that would be great.

Update: 100% Libra found (maybe), but on bosses it would still display ???/??? as their HP
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: mynockx on June 28, 2009, 01:20:15 AM
I would be interested in that 100% Item Drop for sure... assuming the drops are from the monster and not a fixed item, like always drop a Potion or something (that's kinda useless).  After re-reading your post, it does sound like you pick what item drops (rather than what the monster would normally drop).

The 100% Libra would also be nice... maybe.  There are some monsters that you can't Analyze normally (besides bosses) like most of the ones in the final dungeon.  Does your code work on those... or does the game treat them as bosses?  If those also show as ???/???, then I guess this code wouldn't be very useful either (as far as I can tell most non-boss creatures can be scanned with no problem.

If I'm correct on how codes are found, maybe it would work to equip the Rare Band or the Treasure Hunter accessories to see what address changes.  This might be a way to find what needs to be changed in order to modify drop rate and/or rare drop rate.

Anyways, keep up the good work on finding all these codes and thank you for your time.

You will eventually get in after you completed a certain task..just follow the flow of the storyline.

If you Miss when using Libra or Analyze, then mostly likely that the enemy can't be scanned.
If you found an regular enemy besides the ones in the last dungeon that you misses when using Libra or Analyze..or do you ever miss a scan when your level and stats are low? but sucessful scan when your level and stats are high? If yes, then I could test the further more.

Here's a Preview of what's to come.... :

Whatever the code is for making the monsters always drop looks perfect.  I would also be interested in whatever your using to make the battle end, and you get exp, gil, and items for only the enemies you beat (this would also be really helpful for the bestiary).

As for Libra/Analyze missing... it does only seem to happen on monsters that you just can't scan.  I don't think I've ever seen it miss otherwise.

Ccd-ToF --  **SPOILERS**
It's been a few weeks since playing it, but I don't recall ever going back into the Tower of Bab-il (the only time you go in there is during Edge's Tale).  If you're in the final chapter, your task is to collect the Eidolons.  Go all over the world searching for them... once you've got all the ones available, head to Mist and the Mist Dragon will join you (well, as a summon for Rydia).  If you're past this part, I think you need to go to Baron next to confront Cecil.  And from there, I believe all that's left is to go to the moon and the final dungeon (which is super long).  Like I said, it's been a few weeks and my memory doesn't work the way it used to.

Ah, well, if you're just trying to get back into the Tower of Bab-il... I don't think you can.  I'm pretty sure the only time you can get in there is during Edge's Tale.

Okay ! =)

SPOILER !!

Do you go int the Eblan cave during the last chapter ? You can enter it and when you are in front of the entrace of the Tower, a cut scene start:

Rydia: This glow... it's the same as Baron Castle!
Edge: And if it's the same as what the Babil tower once emitted, then...!
*Edge try to enter*
Rydia: Edge !
Edge: Ugh... That didn't do anything...
Luca: Are you trying to get yourself killed?
Golbez: This would be the interdimensional elevator I believe.
Edge: The device that connects the tower of Babil to the moon?
Luca: They're going to use it to transport the Crystals up there!
Edge: Ngh!
Rydia: We need to find another way in there!
*Monster appear*
Golbez: Look like they've got other plans for us.
Edge: Time to fight back!
*Acquired Kiku-ichimonji!* (Great sword for Edge)

I vaguely remember that... and, yes, I did do that.  But, as far as I know, there isn't a way to get in the Tower of Bab-il in the final chapter.  If someone does know a way in though, I'd like to hear about it.  I don't see it happening though.  If the Tower of Bab-il is an elevator to the moon, that would negate the need for the Whale ship.

It is strange that the way is sealed and not destroyed like all other unavaible place...

Seems like you can't enter the place if it's not meant for you to enter:

Anybody found the New location of the Developer's Room? or is it really gone?

"In Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, the location of the original Developer's Office still remains, but its doors are closed with a sign pinned on the wall. It reads that the developers have moved somewhere else and their location will be posted at a later date. However, it is eventually rewritten to ask no-one to look for them again."

About the tower, it will maybe work if we search with a teleport code or this code. =O

Entering the tower of babil in the last chapter probably wouldn't do anything other than walk in it and fight the same monsters we've faced before with Edge. I don't see why they would have done anything to it, if you can,t enter. I think Rydia says they need to enter another way is because this seems like the only way to the moon as of now. (they are not aware yet that the whale is useable.

The new developer's room is located in the final dungeon.  Go to the tail collector's place and there is a walk-through wall in the top left corner of his house (1st floor).

mynockx, when you say in the final dungeon, do you mean the last dungeon where you enter from the Moon's Crystal Room or is it somewhere else? I've walked through all 40+ B floors of the last dungeon and couldn't find anything.

Actually, B11 of the last dungeon is actually the Tower of Babil, so you did enter it.

It's not a walk through code..it's just a X-Axis Y-axis modifier
The addresses are the Overworld are 80543C34 and  80543C38
In Caves are 80544FC4 and 80544FC8
In the Moon .....

So, if you go pass the door, it'll just stand still at the spot, you won't go inside of it

I'm talking about the last dungeon.  To get to the rare tail collector's house, you'll need to take the teleporter back up to the Lunar Whale at some point (I haven't figured out exactly when it appears as an option).  When you try taking the teleporter back down into the dungeon, there will be an option to go to ????.  This is the tail collector's house.
Go inside the house and go as far back as you can on the 1st floor.  The walk-through wall is on the left side.
Like I said, I haven't really messed around with the final dungeon too much (only when going through to finish the game) and didn't notice the ???? on the list of places to go until late in the dungeon.  I'm not exactly sure when it shows up there.  However, if you've made it to the end, then it should definitely be there as an option.

If there's a locked door and you could see a Treasue chest inside, then you could walk through the door and get the Treasure inside.
If you can't see what's inside, like a house with a locked door, you'll be standing on top of the house.

oh..use those addresses along with some Button Activators and the following codetypes to write them into codes

CST1 : Load into Gecko Register
8200 : grN = 8bits at [XXXXXXXX]

CST3 : Gecko Register / Direct Value operations
86TY000N XXXXXXXX: Direct value operations
? = T :
0 : add (+)

CST2 : Save Gecko Register to
8400 : writes the 8bits in grN ZZZ times+1 at [XXXXXXXX]

set the value to 01 (+1 step) and FF (-1 step)

It freezes because it's not meant for you to enter and you could explore the whole world map with the Airship. There is really nothing else to explore and there is no Bahamut Cave in the last moon, the only thing that's left is the Crystal Tower.

Anyone wants to do a Monsters List?
For example:

00 Golbin
01 Basilisk
02 Hell Diver
03 Floating Eye
04 Larva
05 Cave Bat
127 Golbin (1 HP, the one in the Bands tutorial with Biggs and Wedge)
17A Behemoth (Purple Tail drop version)

Post by: mynockx on July 18, 2009, 04:44:48 PM
A monster list? ooh.  So, do you have a good working code?  And by that I mean one that will increase to the next monster (or decrease) with the push of a button combination.  Or is it a "replace digits, replace codes on sd card, restart game with codes, find out the monster, repeat" type thing.  This could be very useful for my bestiary... for instance, I didn't realize that the goblins in the Wedge/Biggs tutorial were different than the normal ones.

I've still been using those other codes you sent me for drops (thanks again).  So, have you found any other useful codes?
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: g6flavor on July 18, 2009, 08:49:15 PM
The value must be locked before you enter a battle, a simple button activator would not do any good. You could do it the way you mentioned it, but it would be a real pain in the @ss since there are over ~200 monsters in the game, you'll probably break your SD reader or sd card before you even finish the list  :o

This is how it works:
You lock the value of 1 monster per battle and the value of a monster (starting from 0) with WiiRDGui. Go into random battle, defeat the monster, increase the monster value, and repeat the process until the game freezes (that should mean that you're at the end of the list)

So, it's a task only for people who owns a usbgecko, and wants to find out all the monsters in the game

Don't have other useful codes other than make the monsters never attack.
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: mynockx on July 18, 2009, 10:07:12 PM
Wouldn't a button combination to increase the value outside of battle work? So, something like: go into random battle (with value starting at 0), defeat the monster, push the button combination to increase the value by 1, repeat until the game freezes.

It just seems like you could increase the value in-game just as easily as you could with WiiRDGui.  Just speculation on my part though since I don't have the tools to test this.  If this were possible though, I'd be happy to make a list of all the monsters for the board here for anyone interested.  If it's not possible, well, that sucks =)
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: g6flavor on July 18, 2009, 11:50:02 PM
You could increase the value outside of battle with a button activator, but that value won't be locked. Like, when the Random Battle comes, that value you changed will be overwrite by the default value.

I played around with it abit and it seems like 240 Hex (+0 = a total of 577 monsters/characters?) is the last character, anything above that will be a Globin with empty name and 0 HP

It's interesting tho, I've never encounter a Grasp Worm (HP 33,000, EXP 57,500, GP 8000) when I played the game the first time.
Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)
Post by: mynockx on July 19, 2009, 01:38:22 AM
I don't remember a Grasp Worm either.  Could be a special moon phase appearance or something... or it could be just super rare or only available in a certain spot (or not at all I guess).

As for the code... I wish I could use it, just can't afford a usbgecko at the moment =(  I'm still kinda confused on why the value isn't locked.  It seems like it should work just like, say the experience code, where it overrides the value without whatever you put for the amount of experience you wanted after a battle.

I just found out that all the Normal Monsters in the game has the exact same HP, EXP, GP, Stats as in the GBA version of Final Fantasy 4 Advance. By Normal Monsters, I mean those monsters that you Randomly encounter on the field, not during special moon phases or special battles like the first Sandworm battles.

How about the challenge dungeon chests?

It seems from RNG manipulation there's a "good list" would it be possible to make the dungeon always give a rare?

You could make a code that constantly writes a gecko register to the address and when a certain button combination is pressed the gecko register will increase/decrease.

I'd like to see some codes for:

Walk anywhere (through walls, etc.)
Code to modify your characters' command menu like Fight, White Magic, Aim, Darkness, Blessing, etc. even adding some commands like Dual Cast, Knowledge, etc. that can't be obtained normally.

though it seems like hacking of this game ceased a while ago, i'd like to refresh a request of WALKTHROUGH WALLS and CALL AIRSHIP and perhaps an EXPERIENCE POINT MULTIPLIER and $ MULTIPLIER and ITEM DROP MULTIPLIER (so if a behemoth drops a Purple Tail, instead it'd be x2 or x3 or whatever)

another thing to request is to call up the PARTY SELECTION screen at the press of a button, during any tale, allowing people to freely choose their characters.... and a FULL PARTY SELECTION code to fill the list with the temp characters such as Fu So Ya and Biggs n Wedge , if it is at all possible that is

i lack the hardware to do it myself, i really wish i could use ftpii or something to connect to my pc wirelessly with the game running

edit: well i guess u can forget the Party mod, i just modded the Save Anywhere to find it lol

it works REALLY WEIRD, and what people it lists is dependant on what menu you are in (since it uses the data currently shown a menu like Black Magic would be a good place to use it, but only if its populated, otherwise it'll be buncha Cecils),

experiment as u please but do NOT try to remove people, it crashes the game,  and using people ur not supposed to have leaves u with a useless non-level-able character..... booo

maybe someone can find a way to make it load the actual character list?

Press 1 and 2 to draw up the party selection screen

Title: Re: Request For Final Fantasy IV The After Years (US)

All Items either one of these codes

084F34F3 00000063
01EA0004 00000000

(thanks goes to [Jackomel] on this code)

or

084F34f7 00000032
01ED0004 00000000

(curtesy of [g6flavor])

both give you the 22 pages with 6 on page 23 items
490 items total, I was confused until I figured out their codes work essentially they are close and do the exact same thing, dont forget to hit ORGANIZE!! also GMO's code on the official database DOES NOT GIVE YOU ALL ITEMS at least for me it didn't, here's what happend I had 1, 6, 4, 2, 3 or whatever of several items and 98 of these others, if you notice that in the first code second part 00000032 or 00000062 or 00000063 is quantity I discoverd on Legend of Zelda NES codes that quantity of hex... 32 is 50 of x item(s) and 62 is 98 therefore 63 is 99, the max in FF AFter years well the max in Zelda is 255 or FF, so I just relearned hex values also the best number in the universe is 42!!! anyways I used GMOs code and made the value zero 00000000 deleted the items and sold the others not affected by this code so it was not all items as g6flavor and jackomel have found, also 42 is 2A in hex and 42 in hex converts to 66 in base 10 aka decimal aka number system we all know 1-9,10,11,12 0-9,A,B,C.... 19 hex is 25 and 1a is 26 1b is 27 I want to find a chart counting in hex oh yeah 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A(10) B(11) C(12) D(13) E(14) F(15) 10 is not ten it's 16! but dont tell your teenager they are 10!! 11 is 17;  12; 18  so I'm not 26 yrs old I'm 1A oh crap that wont work I could be 19 if I was 25, poops

Doing a little thread necromancy here I realize but I would once again like to put a call out for a walk through walls code!  I always have fun messing around with WTW in final fantasy games.  Can anyone out there make this code please, and make it usable in every chapter (tale)?
