Link misspelled the game title. It's really RSVE8P. not RSVEP80.

Link, I thought you were a PAL user?
Or did you import this game?
Title: Re: Sonic Unleashed [RSVE8P]
Post by: Link on November 22, 2008, 11:14:15 AM
neither nor.. it's a borrowed import version

my Wii is 100% modified, even hardware wise, so playing imports works natively - Gecko OS however has higher compatibility in normal cases (though SEGA games always work out of the box, they even include all languages)

i will try again, but it definitely froze with the werewolf levels when i had the low timer code on.

edit: it still freezes, it's the apotos stage, act 3 restless coastside.

if i select gamecube pad in the config menu via geko os (hook type) the level boots fine but the only code that works is the freeze timer, inf lives and Full Gaia Bar does not work, if i select wii pad or default VI mode, that specific level hangs the game.

Just so everybody knows, on the Final Boss, Infinite Rings and Max Boost DOES NOT work for Super Sonic. This concludes that Super Sonic is a completely different character to Sonic, not just a transformation or skin. New codes would have to be made for him OR combine them with the old ones so it affects SS.

Just so everybody knows because I DID try them last night and they didn't work.

No need for an infinite boost for SS.

i'm able to search the jumps, but when poke, nothing happen...

Here's what i did, correct me if i'm wrong... I jump twice and search the value 2; completed search and jump once then search the value 1... It comes up one variable, but when i poke it; nothing happen... I try to change the value to something high and see if it can jump more than two times; nothing... I change the value to 0 and see if it can do unlimited jumps; nothing happen...

Any signs of Super Sonic being playable in the normal Day stages? Or is it that he won't function in the stages because of a lack of being able to "go forward" like Sonic? I mean, he's a completely different character from Sonic so... I don't see why he won't work unless the game crashes when you swap them.

Same for Werehog, just for the lulz. If you wanna know how to do it, open up one of the doors that requires a certain amount of Sun/Moon medals and go into the Sunlight thing to turn to Sonic, wait awhile, and then you'll turn back into the Werehog. If you could achieve a switch like this between Sonic and the Werehog in both Night and Day stages, that would be freakin' sweet.

don't search for 1 and 2, because it will be most likely another number.
just search for unknown value -> jump, search for higher -> land, search for lower -> jump... and so on
if this dont work switch higher with lower

im pretty sure you cant play as super sonic in the 3d sonic games in normal stages. only the final last boss stage. they have been doing this since adventure 1. sega would own if they allowed you to play as super sonic on normal stages
Title: Re: Sonic Unleashed [RSVE8P]
Post by: Link on November 27, 2008, 09:31:22 PM
I was checking on that.. while you can transform from Werehog to Hedgehog in some cases the rule is simple: only if the game loads the other char.. and the same would be for Super Sonic.. first of all: we have to convince the game to load the other character!
Title: Re: Sonic Unleashed [RSVE8P]

dont think it would work well if y'all get it to work. has anyone gotten super sonic to be playable on normal stages for sonic adventure 1 and 2, heroes, 2k6, and this? i think not.

That's because they were just model changes with a different gameplay addition and they were restricted to their Boss stage (IIRC). 2006 was a different ballpark, ST was PLANNING on making him playable in normal stages but, then scrapped the idea (the Rainbow Gem would have allowed you to play as him). I already know about how the past games were and ST's habits, this one's just looking slightly different from the past games. And, remember, people originally thought playing as non-mech Tails in Sonic's stages wouldn't be possible for SA2B and that happened (he was a different character, thus, it was possible) so, this could be the same case here as well except, slightly different in how it has to be executed.

Link, is there anyway to convince the game to load the characters? Or... are you still looking into it?

sure its possible but no one has made it happen; "super sonic zipping through normal stages instead of a final boss fight."

If you pay close attention to the way he attacks and moves in the final boss battle you can see him zooming in at top speed, that could be the action used in moving forward on boost kinda like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIA9hXM3A6Y

That is correct but, if you forced the dash animation they use when you attack each eye and slow it down a little (making the boost the full speed one) then it'd likely work. Backwards, I don't know how you'd get that to work... sounds like it'd have to be completely ignored or coded so if you go backwards it's the same animation.

It can be done just fine, it just might look a little weird.
I mean, I made a moon jump for animal crossing and you can't even jump in that game.
It will look like he is standing still but going backwards.

Haha, that'd be funny, Super Sonic would then essentially be moonwalking. :p

Absolutely cool codes.. I heard now from many sides that the Health and Mana power codes as Werehog wouldn't work.. and some even say infinite rings wouldn't work either.. for me they are 100% working, seems to be savegame related or so.. I will look into those again, they work really fine here I tried them in all situations.. or well..

are they working for some people?

I'm confused by the moon jump codes. What would I need to change the joker address to for use with the classic controller?

It means that you should hold C button than press A button rapidly ...@@

I was working on that code.. after a major backtrace into the stage loading sequence which took me 3 hours, I've given up.Probably I was using the wrong approach but I for myself.. maybe I rethink my approach over the weekend.

It's good to know someone's working on a code like that.

However, don't hold your breath for the Super Sonic code. It never got made for Sonic Adventure 2, so I doubt it will be made for this.

Remember that this game uses a modified engine. It can still work, depending on the original engine.
Hopefully, Super Sonic is stored globally.
In SA2, Sonic was stored inside the data for the final level, if I remember correctly.

While ripping songs from the .iso, I came across the following files...
Character:
              Sonic:
                              Sonic_always.onz
              SuperSonic:
                              SSonic_always.onz
I may later try to switch the files on the disc itself to see if that works

don't waste your time on that.
I tried to switch them with WiiRD but it doesn't change anything

but one_wii_lUS/load_main_game/common/cmn_sv_super and cmn_sv_sonic are loaded when you load an stage.
I switched them but the game crashed

It searched according to it because there were three stage speed of the character.

[00000000] > [Greater than] > [Greater than] > [Greater than]

[00000000] > [00000001] > [00000002] > [00000003]

In most games, the speed is [3F800000] ;)

The value was changed because [3F800000] was in the next address :D

You didn't see any .onz files in heroes. It used the .one format.

.onz is not even a similar format, I checked them out.

Also, that doesn't matter at all. This is a different game engine.

The way the files in SA2/SA2:B (Same with SA1/SA:DX) is Super Sonics coding is all stored in the final boss battles code.

In this, it seems as if the coding could be it's own file, but that's just a guess, from looking at the different files Super and Sonic both have a copy of, I haven't looked into the 2 files that much yet.

The information of the character is included in this game between 90B20000 from 90B10000.

As for the size, a value is stored in 3F800000 in three addresses which continued.

I searched it in 3F800000 afterward for the range mentioned above and looked for 3 that continued.
