QuoteHello, I'm new here. I just have a really quick question.

When creating talisman skills, whats the hex value for: 3?

I tried creating a talisman that has: +7 evasion, +3 potential, 1 slot and so far Getting the +3 for potential has been a real headache. If anybody can quickly tell me what the value is in hex, i would GREATLY appreciate it.

Here are some Skill point values
+1 = B
+2 = C
+3 = D
+4 = E
+5 = F
+6 = 10
+7 = 11
+8 = 12
+9 = 13
+10 = 14
+11 = 15
+12 = 16
+13 = 17
+14 = 18
+15 = 19
+16 = 1A
+17 = 1B
+18 = 1C
+19 = 1D
+20 = 1E

To figure out a value add 10 to the amount you want then hex it
3 +10 = 13   13 in Hex is D

thx
but I do not find which value hex it is for -10 I have found that maximun -9 (hex: 01) helpls: /

ok...first,I´m using the code 1 hp (easy captures?), but the monster never die and the traps doesnt work, sorry if is a dumb question....
but I try to do this like you told me..

Do you actually know how to capture a monster in game? Because the monster is NOT supposed to die when you're trapping it.

Normally you do this:

Hit it until it's weak.

Trap it.

Tranq it.

Done.

If 1 = -9, then 0 should = -10 from that logic. Although I see no reason to create a talisman that penalizes you Skill point wise...

To Mahdekoms again:

Here, try this one:

2 Slots/Evasion +7 (Dragon):
4A000000 90000000
140E2624 06020007
140E2628 110A0000
140E262C 0000003A
E0000000 80008000

I tried this one out, and it works for me. It appears that a talisman has 3 "qualities," and the second and third qualities can point to either a slot or a skill. When a talisman has 2 slots, you need to put the ability in the second ability slot instead of the first (but the strength/number of that ability still needs to be in the one pointing to the second skill). You can still use "000D" for Expert and "0045" for Crit Draw.

If legitimately statted talismans are in your interest, then you can use http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Charm_Guide in the future to line up appropriate skills/slots/etc.

I hope this one works for you. Best of luck.

Hey, thanks. This one worked after i tweaked it a little. When I tried it, it just said "Evasion" (+nothing). It turns out the 11 and 0A needed to be switched. Thanks much.

Hello, I have literally just joined this site, and I was wondering if anyone could please help me. I was looking on the internet for 'cheats' for Monster Hunter Tri, when I found this site. I thought it was very good, but as I could not read all the pages of this discussion, I was hoping someone could kindly answer my questions, which may sound quite stupid. Here are my questions:

1) Where and how do I input the numbers and letters for the codes?
2) Will these work for the EU version of the game?
3) Can these codes be switched on and off?
4) Will I be banned for using them online/offline? ( I wanted to be absolutely clear on this)

I would be very grateful if someone could please answer my questions, it would be a great help to me, thankyou.

1. First off you need the Homebrew channel and GeckOs/Ocarina. If you have neither then google those.
2. This is for the NTSC-U or American version. some codes do work for EU (PAL) version but there is a PAL thread for that.
3. In order to switch them on and off you need to use either the activators or USBGecko for certain codes. Some codes will not switch off or cause errors.
4. Use codes online at your own risk. People have been banned.

I have a question regarding the activators. Is there a universal code for activators, so one could just add those few lines to a random code to activate it? For example, I want to use "press A to activate" for a certain code which doesn't have activators, can I just tag the universal activator to the code? Or does each code require its own unique activator, so one can't just copy & paste the activator for code A to code B?

You should have just try this yourself ;) and you'll find out that button activators can be used to any code you want, that is why there's instructions on how to use them see here http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RMHP08 (look at the very bottom of the page) that's for PAL button activator address the NTSC-U one is here http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RMHE08&page=5

If you still don't get it, just observe a code that uses one. or read through this http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,2582.0.html

EDIT: And yea i almost forgot, YES! I use just 1 or 2 buttons with all the codes I use (and I use alot! ;)).

daijoda

Thank you doudley, now I know which part of the activator represents what. It's good to learn that.
So for codes that only has 1 line, I only need to tag the first line to activate, so activator+code together contains 2 lines.
Why are some codes wrapped in between
"4A000000 90000000"
and
"E0000000 80008000"
while others aren't?

Ow, this will become a long conversation :D............ before we got out of topic with this thread you should just PM me with this questions, and I'll help you as much as I can!

The ones wrapped in 4A and E0 are pointer addresses which are at the 90 section of the game memory... the documentation of those code types can be found here.

daijoda

So by the sounds of it, I guess I can't just wrap any random code in those two lines and expect it to work. I asked that because I had tried adding those lines along with the activator to a one-line code, and it didn't work, so I guess that was the mistake.

Thanks, I'm satisfied with that, I won't pester anyone anymore on the subject. And doudley, you have such a nice personality, I want to grow up to be just like you!

;D That's too much! But I appreciate it nonetheless ;)  Before you stop "pestering" anyone :p, the idea of using a button activator to any code is really as easy as it sounds! I'll PM you how to.

[From what i understand, is it not possible to make a no slot 2 skill tali code?]
I dont want to sound like someone who barely knows what gecko is and registered just to post once on this topic asking for help,
but for the past few days ive been trying to make a no-slot +7 Evade +10 Speedsetup Talisman with no luck. My problem is i cant seem to make a tali with 2 skills and no slots.
What i have now is

4A000000 90000000
100E2624 00000006
100E2625 00000001 <- [Slots]
120E2626 00000006 <- [King tali]
100E2628 00000014 <- [+10]
100E2629 00000011 <- [+7]
120E262A 00000000
120E262C 0000003A <-2 [Evade]
120E262E 00000046 <-3 [Speedsetup]
E0000000 80008000

but when i try that i get +7 evade +10 setup with 1 slot.

I assume that for the slots you have to have it set to 1 in order to have 2 skills on a tali?
[0=1 slot to use, 1=2 slots to use?]

I tried and moving the skills into slots 1 and 2 and i end up with a glitched tali [the dreaded def gem]
If someone could point me to a no slot tali code base, or show me whats wrong i would appreciate it.
