I can't use cheats on my Wii channels

This thing is really annoying me, where I don't have the option to Load Channel on my Gecko. I have the latest version, and 4.2E.
Does having 4.2 affect weather or not you get the option to load channel codes? I only have 4 options to chose from

Yes, having 4.2 affects Gecko's channel load options.
You can re-enable Gecko's channel loader by patching IOS36, you can do this with DOP IOS MOD or Trucha Bug Restorer.

For some reason, my Wii couldn't read anything, and the Patching didn't work. Hmm... I have wi-fi, so it should work...

I have no idea of what all this stuff means...

So... I just downloaded the wad version thing that my Wii wants... though, It doesn't appear as one, and the folder has an odd name.
The files in the Folder are called: 0000000c, 0000000d, 00000003, cetk, tmd.523.

Hmm... I've downloaded all of the files I need, but after I downgrade and the program tells me to exit, I start it up again, but I can't seem to get the ios36 Patcher to work... I even used a guide, and the Patching still doesn't work :(

Downgrading is VERY risky, and you are very lucky you did not brick your Wii. I don't mean that as a dig, I am just letting you know so you don't try to downgrade again trying to fix this; it won't help anyways. The Trucha Bug and ES Identify restore process on IOS 36 using IOS 15 to do the install should have worked, I have never heard of it not working. I have no idea of the reprecussions of downgrading on the restore process but I imagine it will not work as TBR is designed for 4.2 AFAIK. I STRONGLY urge you to go to the forums at wiibrew.org and explain your situation and ask for guidance. The guys over there are pros on this topic and know it inside and out. They should be able to help you find a way to get your system back to normal and then get the channel option available to you. You can probably get help on this forum too, but you seem to be having trouble getting responses so I thought I would mention wiibrew so you could get help now. I hope this helps. I wish I could help you, and normally I could on this topic but once you downgraded you went beyond my skill set and I don't think I could safely help you. Best of luck.
