Alternative to USB Gecko?

This is probably stupid but its just an idea.  As an alternative to a USB Gecko could a

USB type A to type A chord?

I can plug it into my computer and Wii and install the Wiird software.

The USB Gecko device actively interacts with the Wii in order for WiiRD etc. to operate. It is more than just an adaptor.

If you can reprogramm http://code.google.com/p/usbgecko/source/browse/trunk/Gecko_src/code%20handler/codehandler.s to use the usb of course but you can only use 0x1900 byte or 0x640 lines of code and you need place for cheats so max 0x196 lines for 255 lines of cheats
