Sorry to shoot you down, but the fact that this thing didn't even have that much activity in this forum in the first place... you're being a little hopeful.

Not only that... but this had a... well... superior port.

I say that because it's not a simple "hey, let's put in extras" like the other Tales games. This had a completely extended arc that had 3/4th the length of the original story script. A lot more content to mess with when PS3 memory hacking is able to be done. (not sure, haven't looked into the PS3 homebrew scene at all much)

Ultima

I really don't consider the Future Arc apart of the story since it wasn't originally intended o be there I take it as a extra like the symphonia sequel.
PS3 doesn't have code hacking(as far as I remember, I no longer look for codes as much and I gave up all hope for someone making a Cheat System for the PS3) Even Though I've gotten used to Axcel Mode and the truckload of extras DLC Music,Costumes.
I'm really stalling for the US version that gets released in February.
though i'm going back to playing Phantasia(PS1) I've finished Symphonia and I know i'm striving for a 100% in Sonic Generations.

Tales of Graces came out originally on the Wii (Japanese release) and some people got into the game code and understand it.  I am hoping for someone who got into the code or is willing to look at it. Here is why.

Graces has attribute weaknesses on battle combatants. You can see them in battle by pressing some buttons and they are recorded in your enemy book.  Human, Beast, Plant, Amorphous, ...; Burn, Freeze, Paralyze, Poison, ...  You can stun an enemy by hitting all of its attribute weaknesses.

You get 2 slots for these effects on each of weapon, armor and gem.  Strictly speaking armor gets X-weakness.  X-Freeze is protection from Freeze.

Question 1.  If I have an attribute in all 6 slots, does the game pick 2 statically or dynamically?  Does the game give me all 6? Does the game give me the 2 attributes on the armor and 2 from the weapon and gem?

* * * * *

There are special qualities in new game + and you get to put one of these special qualities on weapon, armor and gem giving you three.

half damage from female enemies
double accuracy
double Gald
First hit does not cause stagger.

These are the ones that I personally care about although chance of 10% less damage is a worthy contender.

Question 2.  Do I get all 3 when they are different or does the game use its dualize rules to give me 1?

Arudo

Holy wrong section batman.

I've moved this to the correct game section and merged it with the existing topic since ToG is a Japanese release only game.

Regarding your issue however... I haven't had very much luck at all with finding weapon values/shards and such.

Sorry.  Thank you for reading my post.  Even though there is no interest in cheat codes I believe there is interest in the battle mechanics of the game. At least a lot of people like the game play and when the port comes out in Europe there will be a lot of people playing.

Arudo

Isn't the European release technically for the PS3 version and not the Wii one?

Stuff does get changed in a port  unintentionally but I expect that the battle mechanics are the same in the PS3 port.

Arudo

Ah, I see what you mean. I think you're better off asking that on the gamefaqs board though in regards to battle mechanics though.

There has been no interest in the battle mechanics of graces. I posted my questions there first.

There is no analysis of enemy attacks.  There is no analysis of what your characters are weak to.  It seems to be everything. There is a weakness attribute for each class of enemy, ie. Nova, Machine, Inorganic; the status effects; the weapons, ie. slash, impact, strike, aerial,

In particular I would like to know about Solomus' attacks.  I can beat Solomus on chaos but I want to beat Solomus reliably on chaos and without using an Elixer or Life Bottle.  Having gems to block Solomus' attacks help.
You get 3 clones of Solomus at certain points.
In the PS3 version at
clone time Solomus'es attack with Holy Lance, Shooting Stars, Indignation.  What are the weakness attributes of these when Solomus uses them?  Is it straight magic damage?  Is it dragon/human damage?
There is a faq on dualizing mechanics.  There is no complete description of how the rank 7 qualities work. For instance Bruiserine. It is related to staggering. It says first hit does not stagger.  Being as enemies rarely hit you just once what is the point? My understanding is that you can stagger from the first hit but that if you do not stagger from the first hit, then you will not stagger.

There is no complete description of what effects do.  Cheria learns a skill which heals Cheria when she heals an ally.  Does one of the effects attainable on weapons do this also?  Restore ... when does it work?
