question about usbgecko

i want to get usbgecko. i'm starting to learn how all this coding stuff works. i mosh all of it. but the thing is i don't have computer up in my bedroom witch is were my wii. i know you need the wii and the computer to be in the same room so you can connect the usbgecko from your wii to the computer. but i just like to know would the usbgecko need the internet to run on the computer?
