Homebrew Channel Causing Disc Problems?

For some reason, I can get a game to work fine alone, but when I try to use the Homebrew Channel (I.E. Ocarina, USB Gecko) it doesn't read the disk. Why?

Ocarina is discontinued if you have a usbgecko be sure to have the newest wiird gui and the newest gecko os. Other than that try to take out your memory card if you have one in.
