How do you set-up cheats to use for wiiware and virtual console games?

I am trying to use cheats using gecko 1.9 with Yoshi's Story for the USA version. Gecko doesn't recognize the .gct file on the SD card. The ID for this game is NAHE but the code manager thinks their should be more to the id. Most wii games have two numbers following the letter ID. What would that be for these channels? Basically I need to know how to get cheats up and running for a channel. Your assistance would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Actually I made the cheats for that game so should be able to help!

As for the game ID, just enter the ID as "NAHE" it doesn't matter what you put into the game name as the current (AFAIK) version of code manager doesn't recognize the 4 character ID and when it creates the file makes the id the name and blanks out the ID (not sure if that last part makes sense). But if you launch the channel through 1.9 it will look for codes based on the 4 character ID, in this case NAHE. So ignore the warning you get in the code manager when creating the cheat as 1.9 will still find and apply the codes.

Here is a copy of my gct file so you can see what the final output looks like:

NAHE
