Attention! It is highly recommended that you back up your game save before using any codes.

According to SMK, the following codes have been confirmed to cause problems

Quote from: SMK
1) Music Modifiers (the My Music one and the one that you can only play one song while you're playing. This is mostly if you mess the code up).
2) Stage Modifier (WiFi and offline)
3) Character Modifier (FOR SURE now)
4) Stage Builder codes (Unlimited Parts and Overlapping, I think the version 2 codes might reduce the possibility though so, I don't think these are a worry anymore, probably 20% chance of it happening now. Just don't go overboard with the unlimited parts code)
-----

Due to the popularity of the SSBB USA thread, it was decided that it was probably a better idea to have two threads to separate all the clutter.

This thread is for assistance if you're having trouble with a code not working or have a question.

If you would like to request a code, please go here:
http://www.usbgecko.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141

Please keep all questions and issues in this thread to reduce clutter in the hacking thread. I will try to keep this post and the post in the code thread as up to date as possible.

This is the latest code list I've assembled as of 6:15PM, October 30

Also attached is a Music Fixer list. This list contains specially designed codes meant to restore the default music to a level (In case they have been glitched or you changed them and want them back)

Also attached is a Moveswap code list, a super list with just Super codes and a list of code's for Brawl's Masterpieces

I would like a dark character dump from SSE, so I can try to figure out how to make the icon dark.

Whats the difference between Mario & Mario #32?

How do the character addreses work? I want a simple explanation,I know nothing about this stuff.

Warchamp7

First off the code

48000000 XXXXXXXX
DE000000 80009380
50010000 0000014C
48000000 YYYYYYYY
DE000000 80009380
54010000 0000014C
E0000000 80008000

It's kind of like a copy and paste operation

XXXXXXXX = Character Texture used
YYYYYYYY = Character whose texture is replaced

The X is character that the texture will be copied from and the Y is the character it will be placed on.

Basically theres 4 character addresses

80672FA8 character 1
80672FB4 character 2
80672FC0 character 3
80672FCC character 4

Now let's say you had Player 1 as Mario and Player 2 as Luigi and you wanted Luigi's texture on Mario. You would put Character 2's address as the X (To take Luigi's texture) and Character 1's address as the Y (To place it on Mario)

Oi, small suggestion, but...

Has anyone with a borked save file tried to use the My Music Modifier code?

It might be just a stupid theory, but it could be that the My Music songs all get replaced by non-existent songs, thus causing the borking of the game.

If that's the case, you can officially call me Gary the Messiah.

Well, until we have some way to prove it, it's just that, a theory :/

Well, I bet there are a lot of people with borked save files, and I bet most of them are located in the US, and most of them know how to use Ocarina, and there are codes to change all My Music music associations permanently, so, the logical conclusion to this is that it can be tested.

Why nobody even thought about it still baffles me.

I have a question about the actual change on a fly code.  Everytime I have tryed it in the past hour, it hasn't worked, along with the stage modifier on the fly, and the moving block by Pizza.  Do they just not work with ocarina or am I screwing the codes up somehow.

I USE OCARINA NOT GECKO OS to clear things up

Warchamp7

There is no stage modifier on the fly.

As for the change character on the fly, what are you pressing to do it? The direction specified in the code is the D PAD just to be sure. Not the control stick.

Though online if you give the game a non Existent song just causes it to have no music at all.

Correct, In the first gamecube controller spot, if I press and hold A+UP on the D-Pad... NOTHING HAPPENS... And I'll get a link to the stage changer on the fly in just a sec

Here is a revision of my code for those who are using Krisan Thyme's On the Fly Character Modifier.

284DE4B0 000001C4
4A000000 90180F08
10000033 000000XX
10000034 000000YY
E0000000 80008000
284DE4B0 000001A4
4A000000 90180F08
10000033 00000000
10000034 00000000
E0000000 80008000

XX is Stage ID
YY is Sub Stage ID

L + A + Down = Activates the code (Hold while loading).
R + A + Down = Deactivates the code (Press when level has loaded).

The rules of using this code are the same as the last, but this code is compatable with the On the Fly Character Modifier, using the two unused variables.

That is taken from mariomaniac33 I think... that's what I was talking about

Edit:  But still, both codes don't work... and I don't get the sub-stage ID in this code
