funny... you need an sd gecko and an old action replay. Probably a copy of mios-4 and a GC dol of geckoos on the sd gecko then you can use it

You can indeed use the USB Gecko to cheat game cube games.. however it is not trivial (note: the following solutions only works for USB Gecko owners):
Solutions A to C require an SD Gecko
Solution A: -get a very old MIOS which does not block the AR -insert an Action replay -use the SD Load code to boot an SD card in your SD Gecko -run Gecko OS 1.06d Gamecube edition with it - WIiRd will be able to communicate, just do not use MEM2 addresses -profit
Solution B: -get the MIOS from the Super Mario Galaxy/Mario Kart Wii/Smash Bros Brawl disc -use it to run a new Action Replay -use its freeloader to run an old Action Replay -use SD Load -run Gecko OS 1.06d Gamecube edition with it - WIiRd will be able to communicate, just do not use MEM2 addresses -profit
Solution C: -get the MIOS from the Super Mario Galaxy/Mario Kart Wii/Smash Bros Brawl disc or any older MIOS -use it to run the Datel SD Media Launcher -run Gecko OS 1.06d Gamecube edition with it - WIiRd will be able to communicate, just do not use MEM2 addresses -profit
Solution D: -hardware mod your Wii -burn a Gecko OS boot disc -insert it and use it with WiiRd -profit

in that case you can still use solutions A to C... I can only resay: hooking channels and BC (for GC games) is quite complicated.. kenobi, brkirch and Nuke were looking into it very much.. downgrade your MIOS and use the action replay first..

Are there any significant differences between the code handlers in Wii GeckoOS and GameCube GeckoOS, besides of course the lack of Ocarina support? Or do they behave the same? The version number discrepancies are what make me wonder if there's a difference.
Thanks.

Gamecube Gecko OS is based on Wii Gecko OS 1.06d - with the identical code handler! So everything should work the same way mostly!

Thanks, are there any differences between 1.06d and the latest Wii code handler? (Besides Ocarina)

All I can remember is that the old handler had a minor error in the Gecko registers if I recall correctly. But that should be all!

I know this type of topic has been made many a time, but i am unable to clearly figuire out exactly what you need to run AR.
Is USB Gecko 100% nessecary? Can I use GC cheats with this equipment - Modded 3.2U Wii, SD Gecko, GC AR v1.06?

Since your Wii is modified with a drive chip, you could use a disc image of the GameCube Operating System (GCOS) to boot the Action Replay. Also, you could try these instructions, but you will need to sign up to see them... http://board.gscentral.org/showthread.php?t=27503
