After years of searching the internet, I was able to softmod and convert my American Wii to almost completely functional Korean Wii successfully thanks to some of the wonderfully created homebrew applications! That was more than a year ago and had been able to play any game from both regions I wanted to play at any time I wanted! However, I've run into a problem! I've purchased the Korean version of "Mario Strikers Charged" about five months ago and tried to play it since then by using "Gecko OS 1.07b mod005.01(as far as I know, only this particular version features "Korean disc support"). However, I am receiving the dreaded Error#002 along with the blue screen (of death?! What the...!) :o

For the reference, I am currently using the HBC v1.0.8 along with the both versions of Bootmii that bundled with it and the system menu version 4.2K! I am also using a homebrew called "StartPatch v4.2.6K" and had applied most of the patches it offers but NOT the patches which would disable updating either via online or via a game disc! I am able to play all other Korean games such as "Super Mario Wii: Galaxy Adventure", "Mario Kart Wii", "Elebits" and "Bio Hazard: Darkside Chronicles" and have encountered no problems so far but it just wouldn't allow me to play "Mario Power Soccer". Using the homebrew application called "Any Title Deleter", I was able to figure out that this game requires to use IOS 55! I also have Gecko OS 1.9.1.3 as well as the original "USB Gecko" but not "USB Gecko SE", ready to be used at any time I want! So, is there anyone who can help me out with this problem?

The newer GeckoOS (1.9+) is able to install the needed IOS when booting the game.  As far as I know, installing a Korean IOS shouldn't hurt the Wii unless you install it to the System Menu's IOS slot (which is not an issue here).  I'm also unsure of why you're using a modified GeckoOS; the official GeckoOS should load the correct IOS regardless of the game's region.

I haven't tried this with a Korean disc, so if you're worried, wait for someone else to confirm/dispute my post.  Hope this helps though.

I know there's some problem with korean games on non korean Wiis. I don't know what needs to be done to play them, if you are lucky just using the latest Gecko OS fixes this. This could be, because the latest Gecko OS loads the korean IOS for the game unlike the old Gecko OS which didn't.

If nothing helps, try to get the Gecko OS mod with korean game support source code. I could add 002 error fix code to it, which will work for a few games, but won't for most newer games.

That's the answer that I had been looking for in the last five months! :) Now, how should I send the zip file to you? By e-mail perhaps or do you have a better idea? Please let me know. Sooner the better. Thanks!

PS: I won't expect anything from this but at least there is a hope and that makes me really excited!
