I notice on the GeckoCodes page, there's a whole bunch of codes for the Virtual Console games as well as the Wii. However, I don't have any idea how to use Gecko OS to launch Virtual Console games with codes; all I see is how to launch disc-based games with codes. I'm betting it's something really simple, but I just can't figure it out, so I'll appreciate any help. Because I want to download Zelda 3 and go nuts with my Fire Rod without my too-short magic meter getting in the way.

update to the newest version of Gecko.

Are you already using Gecko OS?  What version of Gecko OS is it?  What System Menu version are you (4.2, 4.3, etc)?

It sounds like you just need an IOS that has ES_Identify patched.

New Gecko OS? I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

DCX2, Hi there. I have the same problem of how to use the Gecko codes for virtual console/wii ware games. I have a 4.3u wii system and I'm using Gecko OS 1.9.3.1. You mentioned that "you just need an ios that has es identify patched". Just what do I need to accomplish this? What do I need to download to get this es_identify patched and what steps are to be taken. Sounds like a simple step by step instruction is all I need. Thanks for any help and for your time. Hopefully I can start playing my virtual games with gecko codes.

Click the link in the post above yours.  That will take you to a forum post by 111.  In that post, he links to two separate apps that should be able to patch IOS36 for you.
