Greetings,

Is there a way to utilize ocarina from an SD card without loading homebrew et al?

I'd like to be able to just use a few codes for games that I can take to a friends house and use without loading other stuff on his box.  Just something temporary that vanishes when it's turned off.

I've been looking and haven't found anything yet that doesn't require homebrew and bootmii.

I'm not sure about his box, but mine is 4.3U, so installing bootmii is going to be a pain anyway and if I can avoid it by just loading something from an SD card when needed, that would be sweet.

He doesn't want to mod his box at all.

Thanks for your time.

Awesome!  I'll search for both.

Do you have a preference, and is there a home site to obtain latest versions?

Thanks for the answer, this could be very nice!

Okay, I did some looking around and I see that both require their respective game discs.  That's cool, I'll buy one.  The instructions I could locate were for loading hackmii or bootmii.

Is there an instruction page you could direct me to for using one of these to load gecko or ocarina to use for game codes?  I could probably figure it out, but if there's a page already, why duplicate the effort.

If I understand so far, the procedure would be something like ..

Go to buddies house.
Put SD with ocarina or gecko and game codes in Wii
Load game disc (Smash Bros or Lego Indiana Jones)
Perform actions as required to load software from SD
Eject disc
Load game disc of desired play game
Launch game using software loaded from SD
Play!
When finished, remove disc and SD.
Turn Wii off.
It's as if none of the above ever happened.

If I'm missing any major steps, please lt me know.

Thanks again, this is gonna be pretty sweet.

replace boot.elf (or boot.dol, I forget XD) with the gecko one
