VC/WW games are hackable the game id is 4 not 6 (XXXX) not (XXXXXX)

thats really i can say :P

James0x57

I think it would be appropriate to separate the VC games by console (and only one for WW), yes?

What are the formats for each of these game IDs?
NES/Famicom
Super NES/Super Famicom
Nintendo 64
Sega Master System
Mega Drive/Genesis
TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine
Neo Geo
Commodore 64
MSX
Virtual Console Arcade  (<-- wait, what? Is this the Wii Ware stuff?)

ehm.. i'm not sure, but the first character of the id could be the region
the second one could be the console, but i'm not sure.

the game IDs are comparable to the existing formats...

1st digit: console code.. J for SNES for example..

Full list:

IDConsole
CCommodore 64
ENeo-Geo
FNES
GGamescube games (unhackable)
HWii Channel
JSNES
LMaster System
MMega Drive/Genesis
NN64
PTurboGrafx-16/PC Engine
QTurboGrafx-CD
RWii
WWiiWare

digit 2 and 3.. game unique!

digit 4: region:

ASCII Region
A All regions. System channels like the Mii channel use it.
D German-speaking regions. Only if separate versions exist, e.g. Zelda: A Link to the Past (JADD)
E USA/Canada and other NTSC regions except Japan
F French-speaking regions. Only if separate versions exist, e.g. Zelda: A Link to the Past. (JADF)
J Japan
K Korea
L Japanese Import to Europe, Australia and other PAL regions
M American Import to Europe, Australia and other PAL regions
N Japanese Import to USA and other NTSC regions
P Europe, Australia and other PAL regions
Q Korea with Japanese language.
T Korea with English language.
X Not a real region code. Homebrew Channel uses it, though.

digit 5 and 6 are publisher codes.. like 01 for Nintendo, 08 for Capcom or 8P for SEGA.. however, for VC games we do not know those! Therefore I currently proposed to leave them 00 for VC games because 00 hasn't been seen in the wild yet!

WiiRD Database v2.0 - now with dynamic AJAX menu! ;)
http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/

Suggestions, comments, etc appreciated.

[edit] Other changes:
Browsing update history via the URL stops you at the end (first 30 updates) if you go beyond it.

Browsing update history maintains the current channel (unless loaded by AJAX - will get "fixed" soon).

Changing the channel updates the "DB Updates" link accordingly.

And other things that I can't remember. lol

[edit2] Oh, right, duh, the updates themselves.
ID removed from the updates page, new format:

Grouped by date
[SystemID - hover for full name] [RegionID - hover for full name] <Game title as a link>     hacker name

Looks nice!  Although for some reason Monster Hunter 3 Demo (http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/index.php?c=DMHJ08) is showing up on the DB updates page but not the game listing.  I would have suspected it has something to do with the game ID starting with D, but Aquarius Baseball also has a game ID that starts with D but does shows up on the game listing

James0x57

Fixed, that was my fault (...I think).
Thanks for pointing that out, brkirch.

UPDATE: DB now recognizes Wii ID's that start with S
[SXAE52]

UPDATE2:
The hacker's credit name on the code pages is now a link to..

UPDATE3:
an alphabetic list of games (numbered) hacked by a given hacker- like ZiT and his 331 hacked games. :P

REDSOXROX

It looks really really nice now :D
Red Sox vs. Yankees 4/4/2k10 Season Opener
Red Sox: 9 Yankees: 7 Final!

James0x57

Thanks man :)
With the first release I spent most of my time programming the administration and going for really simple on the user side just to get it up fast since Y.S. had already started! lol
This time I thought I'd try to focus more on design. Since I had so much more to work with this time (going from one console to ..13 or so), it made it a bit easier to think about using space.

Search feature added to the Code Database today.
You can also use it to jump straight to a game if you know the ID, just type there and hit enter, the codes will come up.
