Punch Out

Strangely enough this is the first game in almost 3 years that isn't working for me.
I have a PAL Wii with Wiikey. Used RegionFrii and Wiibrickblocker on the scrubbed NTSC ISO. The game loads in the main menu (icon shows), I can select it (and even hear the sound), but when I press begin the screen is black and the only thing to do is disconnect the power cable...

I then reburned the game and got the following error:

Error #002
An error has occurred.
Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc, and turn off the Power the console.
Please read the Wii Operations manual fir further instructions.

After that I even downloaded the PAL version of the game but when I click on the Punch Out icon in the disk menu the screen turns black (no error message) again.
So I installed the Homebrew Channel and the Geck OS (this would help some people told me). I start the game from Gecko OS and it displays: This game requires IOS 53. IOS not found on the disk...

So I patched the ISO on IOS53 and reburned. Same message again in Geck OS...

I'm pretty much clueless what to do next. Any help would be lovely.

Tim, as Gecko says, the game needs IOS 53. so you need to get yourself a IOS 53 and install it.

You removed the update partition with WiiBrickBlocker, that is what Gecko OS needs to install the missing IOS...

If a game requests an IOS that you don't have, the game's update partition will be searched for the IOS and the option to install the IOS will be given if it is found (if you have a modchip, turn off update blocking!)

Just a question, but what's the update that comes with Punch-Out? Is it the same as the one for Madworld?
