These codes have only been tested in the Remastered Dolby Surround sound version, as that is the only version I have on hand. (I signed up for that replacement.) (I just got my USBGecko today, along with that remastered disc on monday.)

These seem to work everywhere. I have tested every playmode. There is also a possibility of these codes being made for Guitar Hero Aerosmith as well. (I have that game as well.)
Edit: Corrected the game code.
Edit 2: Added the required E0000000 80008000 code line to all of the codes.
Whenever you change the base address/pointer, you have to use a E0000000 80008000 at the end of your codes to reset them.
Your codes might work right now, but if you don't do that, you might just break the codes created by other players.
how did you search in the game and not have it crash? >_< i couldn't do it, but i did give up easily. anyways is there any secret or did you just search?
Yeah, crashing was a frequent issue, but it almost never crashes if the game is paused prior to the search. the problem is the game attempts to catch up the lag in the fret board, and some times the lag is more than enough to cause the crash itself. Dumping a screenshot or watching the memory viewer doesn't seem to crash the game, but that is where I noticed that the game tries to catch up some lag.
I have another code, for Guitar Battles.
Always Have Battle Power
Note: do NOT complete any battle power sequences, or the Wii will lock up. (Not till I figure out why, or someone else does. Although I have the offsets for player 2, until I figure out the lockup issue, there is no point in having player 2, as the computer would complete the battle sequence if not prevented from doing so, in career mode.)
42000000 90000000
20E488D4 00000000
04E588D4 00000001
04E59944 0000000X
E0000000 80008000
0 - Amp Overload
1 - Difficulty Up
2 - Double Notes
3 - Steal Power Up. (This might cause a lockup, not throughly tested.)
4 - Lefty Flip
5 - Broken String
6 - Whammy Attack
7 - Death Drain
I only tried doing a score code and didn't try anything else when it constantly froze 0.o, but maybe i will try some others now. thanks for the tip though :)
the battle codes dont work for me (i have ntsc and the re-mastered disc)
at the top of this page it says for mono only not remastered. also. how can you tell? does it say it on the box? i can't tell if the codes worked cuz it ruined my disk reader when i tried too :( <- totally unrelated to the codes
EDIT: sorry i didn't actually see if it said that 0.o it doesn't and it does say remastered. wish i could help you out, but i dont have a working disk slot
Are you certain the battle code is not working? The game will NOT display the fact that you have the battle item chosen, but you still should be able to fire that item at the opponent.
As for how to tell remastered from the original, the remastered will have a star near the bottom of the disc label, above "ACTIVISION", and also it will have the Dolby Pro Logic 2 logo on it. The original does not have either of these features on the disc label.
Doesn't works for me... Ocarina loads the codes but don't do anything... ;)
yes im sure, the battle codes dont work on the re-mastered discs
they were updated did you try the new ones?
It should, because I made that code, using a remastered disc. Might be a pointer issue that I cannot solve on my own, because I can't quite get the pointer to change.
did you account for an offset? it may only work on 1 song, which would be a problem.
I tried all of these codes and none worked for me and I have the remastered version. I even plugged them into gecko. Thanks for your work tho.
k, i tried the battle codes on career, but it doesnt work. also whats an offset? the battle codes just dont work for me
the_dave: Are you able to do some level of code hacking? Also, do you have the remastered version of the game?
I have come to the conclusion that the codes I have, seem to very specific to the console the game is played on. maybe system menu version or something. As a result, no matter what I do, the offsets do not change, and as a result, I can't search for an offset to use.
What it comes down to, is that someone else, who these codes are not working for, is going to have to search for the offsets that they will work at, and also do a complete ram dump. (All of the ranges, even though the offset is most likely in 80 or 90 range.)
As it is, to search for the full star power codes, fill the star power to max. do an initial 16 bit unknown search, within 90E00000 to 90F00000. (Might be different, if that is the case, then do full 90 range, and figure out what range to narrow to. All of the codes will be in that short 1MB range block.) Activate star power, then do another search, let it drain, do another search, let it drain do another search, all of them being less than last value.
For battle power, you will need to do 2 independant searches. The first search is get a power, then search for its corrosponding value, between 0-7. Now use that power, then get another hopefully different one. search for its value, till there is one offset. write down that offset. For the other offset, search for 0. Get a power, search for 1, get another power, search for 2, get another power, search for 3. If you need to do more searches, use your powers then search.
Then, for the rock meter, fill it, then do initial unknown search. Miss a note or two, do less than search, miss more notes, do less than, repeat, but don't let the rock meter drop more than half way doing this. This one is 16 bits.
Finally, dump all of the ram ranges.
caitsith2:
Yes I have done few games. I have been working on this game but I just now got to searching mem2 location it just takes time cause this game freezes up the wii alot. Thanks for the pointers of where to search I will do that when I get a chance.
Another tip in dealing with the freezes, Actually pause the game, (Plus button on guitar controller, or on wiimote, depending on the controller used.), prior to doing the search. This seems to significantly reduce how often the game decides to lock up on you.
I have uploaded my set of ram dumps (http://rapidshare.com/files/149013334/gh3_ram_dumps.7z), for others that might decide to look for the codes, and maybe find the pointers that need to be used for these codes. (Having the pointer location system specific really sucks here, although it may not have been intentional, but it still sucks.)

k, i tried the battle codes on career, but it doesnt work. also whats an offset? the battle codes just dont work for me
You know how the code isn't working for you. thats because most hackers search for codes on 1 level until they get what they want and they should test it on other levels to see if it works. if it only works on 1 level you need an offset which accounts for what to add to a pointer which leads you to an address. so say the offset is 380+ and you have a pointer, 00000000 (yea i know its not a real pointer) but it would add 380 to whatever value the pointer leads to :D
Ok, Ive made a PAL infinite star power Code using caitsith2's guide. Should i add a pointer? or shouldnt i? If Yes, How would i set it out?
i got:
42000000 90000000
02E61310 000042C8
E0000000 80008000
Should i make it:
42000000 90000000
XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX
E0000000 80008000
XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX = Pointer
lmao a pointer isn't that big. there is no pointer for the original code. i'm not sure if it works however, i have yet to test it.

sorry, im a noob at this and didnt understand anything that u said :P but I lack USB Gecko so i cant make codes :P
http://www.usbgecko.com/codetypes.htm (http://www.usbgecko.com/codetypes.htm)
see if that can explain it i'm really horrible at explaining.
It does appear that the codes do need a pointer, the only problem, is that I have not been able to get the address to change myself, testing with every level possible, testing every game mode possible, even local multiplayer game modes. I have even gone to drastic measures of disabling the no copy flag, to copy the save to SD card and delete said save from system, and even that did NOT change the pointer. So yeah, I have actually tested the codes on more than one level.
Because of that, it may well be difficult, if not impossible for just one person alone to search for the pointers. It will definitely require multiple hackers having this game to combine efforts, in order to find the blasted pointer.
I could help you out with that... But im PAL :S
In some further testing, I found that another case the Wii will lock up on the battle power code usage, is if the battle goes into sudden death.
hey can one of yall try this out its for *FULL TIMES MULTIPLIER* but i only have the original mono ver. so it might not work on the other?

Could you explain how you did this? coz ive been trying it for PAL with no success. Thanks
the FFF part is just hex so u can just search mem 2 90E00000-90F0000 like caitsith2 said and just search what your note streak is. so get above a 25 note streak then pause it with out messing up (kinda tricky) and search for that number in hex, 31=1F etc.., or u can do the long way and search unknown, then start building up ur note streak and pause and search higher then, then lose it, pause and search lower till u narrow down on it . hope any of that helped
Well mine doesnt have the star either, but anyway i'll post a pic

yea i've tried to make a code like this for mono version. it just made it go blank. and i did get the value. i think it's only cosmetic and not actually affecting the game
to clueless: still no idea ? that might be the first version of the game and mines inbetween?
to hetoan2: my multiplier code is actually working i tryed playing "the metal" with it on and missed half the notes and still beat my high score. also if u have the same version as me would u try it out?
*edit went back and checked again tripled my dragon force record with out activating star power , but i noticed if u start missing like 80+ notes the multiplier code starts making the fret bored up the screen. kinda odd

Check the Game ID on the disc (where my pic zoomed in the text) If it is different than mine/this thread's code then yours is probably in between. (btw the game id is just the 4 alphanumerical characters in the 2nd part and the last 2 digits after the last hyphen. Hense RGHE01/RGHE52/etc.)
the same spot on ur picture, all mine says is RVL RGHE USA, and nothing after , now on the other side around the hole it has rvl-rghe-0A
and when i use WiiRD it says RGHE52 same as for ocarina and gecko OS, so like i said i have one in between.
Well maybe, ill change my Game ID to RGHE52 and see if that has any affect, although i dont wanna turn off my game now cause im playing (Wii needs repair due to dropping, so it only loads the game like 4-10% of the time)
i dont think changing its goin to help but good luck anyways!

actually physical damage has caused my wii to become noisy Watch (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ_cSL0zHRg")
edit: yes im sure its due to dropping, its not just guitar hero that doesnt load, its all Wii Games. although GCN games seeem to load just fine (this is actually one of the "symptoms" of the physical damage)

Theoretically, I'm sure it is, since if I'm not mistaken, there's already ways of using custom textures in Brawl with Ocarina. It's primitive, but hey, it's better than nothing, and I'm sure it can be improved on.

There is a way to use custom textures with WiiRD (using a USB Gecko) in Brawl, but not with Ocarina.
Anyway, I'm thinking it might be possible to import songs using WiiRD (with the upload feature), but I doubt it since a whole note chart and song (bass, guitar, and song tracks) would have to be imported. Plus I don't think songs are embedded into the game so that it can be edited anyway.
Edit: Also if your disc doesn't have the star its mono, no matter what it says on the box and the game id for mono is RGHE01.
Also, here is a code for the Stereo version for always full multiplier.
Full Multiplier [SMGPlayer]
42000000 90000000
04E58550 0000001E
E0000000 80008000
For some reason if you start missing a lot of notes the whole chart starts moving. lol
i dont have a star and my game id is RGHE52, also the mono code does the same thing with the fret moving up screen

Hmmm, I don't know I guess it doesn't matter if your game is mono or not to affect your game id.
But I think the chart moving is caused by constant shaking from losing your combo...
yeah it is , i turned on no fail and play dragon force on hyperspeed with the cheat on and it just started shooting up ha

I'm thinking that the music files are stored in the Wii's RAM before the song plays and might be able to be changed then...
Amazing discovery!
DO NOT USE RGHE01 AS THE GAME ID! I tested out the RGHE52 codes AND THEY WORKDED!!
From here on out use RGHE52 as the game ID and all codes i believe should do the same job as the stereo version. (theory)

if that is the case then just make codes for the 52 version.
theres 2 versions of the game , mono and stereo, i made the mono , and made the stereo. and both have the same game ID just like the zelda game. thats about it
I hope its possible to keep the code request forum active enough to get new code ideas :P
stereo codes not working for me and mono codes make the notes look weird... and they reduce of size in half song...
WRF? Now it's working, but I didn't do anything... I think that happens to the notes because I was loosing a lot, or because i used the star `power before the song started...
Somone has the same problem???
***I played again and, yeah, It's because I was missing a lot of notes***
yeah i said it in earlier post and so did SMGplayer, if u miss upwards of 75 notes the the whole fret starts to move up the screen. its cause when u lose a streak the fret jumps alittle and resets. but with the code it just keeps jumping. so yeah try not to play TTFAF on expert ha. glad to see my codes work for more ppl seya
Thanks... sorry about not reading that post... It's just that I'm to lazy to read all that posts... Thanks again...
