Here is something strange i have come across, and i was wondering if anyone else has something similar happening with their wii etc etc.

I have a japanese NTSC wii console, not modified, but with the homebrew channel installed.

I have recently bought some US NTSC games to play them on my wii, so that i can play the games in english.

The two games are super mario galaxy, and zelda twilight princess. originally i used the gecko region free 1.5 app to load the games, which loaded mario galaxy perfectly, but zelda without any sound.

 i then tried loading both the games with geckoOS 1.6d, and again zelda would load but without any sound, and this time mario galaxy would not load at all (ie. black screen for infinity) UNLESS i went into the config menu and selected the language as ENGLISH (ie. not just leave it as console default), and it would then load perfectly, no problem.

finally i tried using menuloader 0.5 to load the games. this time zelda loaded up fine with all sound and everything (YAY!!! thankyou to nuke for helpin me out with this), BUT mario galaxy again has the same problem as previous, with the black screen, and this is even after seeing the game disc recognized in the channel menu. (and with this app there is no way to select the language of the game in the menu, so i have no way to fix it - presuming this would fix it as it did with geckoOS 1.6d)

Now i dont have a major problem at the moment because one way or another i am able to play the games i imported (with an sd card full of homebrew region apps - 4 at the moment) ofcourse if i could reduce this to one it would be nice, but i am not too fussed. the only thing it makes me think about is when i do buy other import games in the future, how many more region free apps will i need to find?..

anyway something to think about or look into, if you guys can be bothered. i would do it, but i have absolutely not idea what im doing, im just grateful there are people out there like you who are able to do amazing ****, so that people like me have a better gaming experience. cheers guys.

use GeckoOS ver. 1.06f. simply as that. And as far as I recognize, it has fixed game supports in opposition to 1.06d.
