Hey, I just loaded the homebrew channes and gecko and am a total noob with this stuff. I'm playing a PAL copy of Madworld on a US system and am having the following issues:
1. On an SDTV, the game only shows black and white, meaning the blood isn't showing up, even on the screen where it advises you to put on the wrist-strap and the sega logo screen. This is very ironic and annoying. The game is obviously still playable, but I want my blood dammit!
2. On an HDTV the game doesn't show up at all, only sound is present.
If anyone knows how to fix either of these problems please let me know. Thanks for your help and to the devs of this awesome utility!!!

anyone out there? I feel like my wording was bad on the initial question, so I want to clafiry. The game is meant to be black-and-white-and-red, but it is only black-and-white. It's still very playable (and awesome), but I'd really prefer to play the game as it was meant to be played since I actually payed for it. I think it's an issue with my gecko OS, since the wrist strap warning and sega logo are in a nasty shade of gray when I initially boot up the game.

What kind of cable do you use?.
I am not sure how it works when you play a pal game on ntsc console but when you play a ntsc game on a pal console you need an RGB or S-VHS cable for the colors otherwise the game is complete in black and white or you have a black screen but you here the sound of the game.
So if you use the standard cable that was in the box when you got your wii i am pretty sure you need another cable.
For an HD tv you can buy a special cable(i dont know the name for it in english) with 5 plugs this is for an HD television
the best solution because you can put your wii on 580i (progresseng scan)for mutch better  picture on an HD Tv you can also use an RGB and S-VHS cable for an HD tv but you cant use the 580i progressing scan.

I happen to know that the game can't be forced to other video modes, and if it would be patched, you would get issues.(no Gecko OS can't patch video modes, only warez loaders can do that for now)

This means, you need a tv and cable combination that is compatible with PAL video mode. If you are lucky, it works when you force PAL60 or PAL progressive on the hdtv.

component

and the regular cable is composite, but most of the games i have are ntsc games and i use the regular cable with the scart adapter, i think nowadays some issues relate to your tv and not just the cable

but in this case it may well be gecko or the game version as with mysims racing the pal version i had was black and white through gecko and scrolling but the ntsc version worked fine
