Hi guys, I have a Wii on 3.3U, with HBC9, and I managed to get dvdx, wad and gecko 1.07 up and running in the Homebrew Channel, but every time I put a burned DVD, (on a single layer Verbatim) in, Gecko OS says "No DVD identify" or something to that extent, I can't quite read it, as the first have has multiple words on top of each other. I thought it might just be the chopped and scrubbed version of Animal Crossing that I had, but then I tried and .iso from mario party 8, and the same thing happened. I tried through the standard disc channel and through Gecko OS's 'Launch Game' and neither worked. I did some searching on the web, and couldn't find any answers. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

Gecko doesn't play burned backups? We don't support that here.

Wait, I'm so utterly confused. What exactly is Gecko OS used for then?? I've seen in various places on the net that it does, even tutorials telling you how to set it up to do just that. So what am I missing? And what are the exact capabilities of Gecko??? Thanks for the help.

A complete idiot decided to make a backup loader and call it GeckoOS.  As a result, GeckoOS's name was dragged through the mud, as some people thought that the real GeckoOS somehow endorsed or was involved in the backup loader.  The aforementioned idiot removed the GeckoOS branding from the backup loader after Nuke got really, really mad, but the damage was done and there are still guides out there that say GeckoOS is used to boot backups.

And thus I wound up here. Awesome. I feel like a schmuck. Apologies to Nuke and everyone else on the forums. I didn't know, it was done out of ignorance.
