I didn't know if anyone saw this or not, so I figured that I would post it here...

Nintendo Wii U Release Date And Price Revealed

The Wii U has a release date. Nintendo's console will be released on November 18. It will come in two versions, a Basic and Deluxe set.  The Deluxe set will cost you $349 and the basic version will run $299.

As we learned during Nintendo's Japanese press event last night, the Wii U will have 2GB of memory, 1GB for games and 1 GB for system memory. Its discs will have a 25GB capacity and are not Blu-Ray. It will be backwards compatible with the Wii. Additionally, the console will support all Wii accessories straight out of the box.

The Premium bundle will come with a console, a controller, an HDMI cable, power cradles for your Wii U pad, a 32 GB HDD, and a subscription to Nintendo Network Premium which offers 10% discounts on downloadable software, while the Basic bundle will come with just the console, a controller, and an 8GB HDD.

(More details as they are revealed.)

That's actually not a bad price at all even for the deluxe/premium one.

The HDD size is kind of disappointing though considering the other previous gen systems were in the 100s of GBs.

Hopefully the hard drive is just a simple 2.5" one, like in the PS3.  Then you can just go buy your own.

hmm...although at those capacities, maybe it's an SSD?

I'll probably grab a pre-order for the Deluxe after I check my finances/get paid.

I'm not going to buy it at launch. Doesn't seem even remotely worth it.

Preordering a Deluxe one whenever I get down to EB.

Also, the memory capacity is externally expandable. (Through the use of an external hard drive.)

Not sure to get one... huh
I probably won´t ever have homebrew on it and I don´t like their tablet controller.
When the Wii was launched, the controls convinced me, nothing else.

It might be worth getting a launch one...because subsequent machines might have patched exploits.  Kinda like how early adopters of the Wii get to have Bootmii as boot2.

A 1080p Wii with a tablet controller should be interesting, to say the least.

I don´t like their tablet controller.
I agree with this, it seems big and bulky. But the CCP and wiimote are compatible.

I doubt that I will be getting one at launch (unless a store has some extra consoles in stock  Undecided), since I didn't bother to pre-order one.  I'll be interested to see/hear what happens when people attempt to run exploits like the Smash Stack on it.  I'm guessing that all exploits, including that one, will be blocked.

I'll let you know what I think of it... although I probably won't be trying to hack it...

I've taken Monday off to game/goof around.

lol Grin
If at least one of the old exploit work I´m going to laugh my ass off.

I probably won´t get a Wii-U, no matter how things turn out. I´m not convinced in needing another console atm.
