Hi, thar.
Today i got my Component (YPbPr or YUV) to HDMI converter.
It converts the analog video signal of Wii or GameCube or whatever to Digital 1080p. i want to use it to record games without losing a lot of quality. I connected the GameCube Component cable (yes, component cable for GameCube exists) to the converter, and the converter to the hdmi capture card. the quality is awesome. but all few seconds the screen gets black. then i have video for a few seconds, then i loose it again.
(it still keeps having the originally input quality, also 480p from GameCube. it just converts it to digital video signals)
it also works fine on Wii. But why doesn't it work well on GameCube? Because it uses 480i?

any idea what to do?

The Wii can only output up to 480p... The dongle-thingy you're using just upscales the image (stretches it, dem stretched pixels).

And could you link us to the convert you bought? Would probably help with your problem.

here is the one i bought: http://www.amazon.de/Ligawo-%C2%AE-YPbPr-Konverter-Signalverst%C3%A4rkung/dp/B002CAYCXM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337488708&sr=8-1

pal 50 also works fine.
forscing 480p instead of 480i using gecko os didn't really work..
also is there are way to solve the problem or do i have to live with using pal 50?
