So I was bored and searched myself on google and found this http://mdmwii.altervista.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3552
I think it's pretty cool and don't really mind but he could have asked before posting them.
In the begining there was nothing. Then it exploded

He did give you credit, but even so, posting other people's work without even notifying, let alone asking for permission, annoys me.  In particular, it annoys me because now that forum will get ad revenue from your work, and any place where you intentionally post your work will correspondingly get less ad revenue.

A general rule of thumb is, if you're posting other people's work in the context of something you built yourself, it's fine; if the only thing that you're posting is 100% other people's work, just link to it.  E.g. I used a few people's videos briefly in my GeckoTunnel conference talk in March, but I certainly wouldn't repost those videos by themselves, even with credit.

I'm going to try to contact him but that may be to much work and un-needed since he gave me credit.

we can´t do anything against it, it won´t ever stop either. :o
You know why? Most people don´t care and just post the codes elsewhere, especially "leakers".
Talking to them and telling that you don´t allow them to post will do nothing.
There´s some site called "codeleakers.com". They copy/paste codes from everywhere.
Why must there be such retarded people, we all could live more relaxed if they just e.g. link to the source page or follow some simple behaving rules. ::)

You can always try sending DMCA takedown notices... many Internet providers (not all, but many) will remove a site if they start receiving copyright complaints.  You own your codes' copyright; any site which distributes them against your wishes is violating copyright laws.

@biolizard89:
Hmm... would be awesome if many people start doing this against codeleakers.com
how can I send such a takedown notice?

EDIT:
Ah wait, just found it on google... thx for telling me though...

@pichu04:
I somehow don´t want to know where my codes are posted. ;D
It´s ridiculous that so many people feel like copying geckocodes/leak codes.
Nobody ever asked for permission and people are not supposed to go to some random place instead.

if i remember right We own nothing that we actualy hack.. The Company that makes the game owns our code.
how older divices got pass this was using encryption they owned the copywrite to the encryption so no one could post there codes that way..
Programing things is alot diffrent then reversing/Hacking..

I think we should atleast tell the owner, an active member, or some form of staff how you feel if this bothers you.  Just because codeleakers.com does it, doesn't mean they do it intentionally.  Look back, they use to not even post credits, but someone contacted the owner of the site and that was no longer an issue.

Just my opinion.

Edit: I made a thread about it on Codeleakers, and they deleted it.  Wow, bully, you were right.
Gotta question?  PM me and hopefully I can help ^^

This is incorrect.  The fact that my code requires the game's code to function does not mean that the game developer owns the copyright on my code.  Similarly, even though Nintendo's SDK is used by developers, Nintendo doesn't own the copyright on all Wii games; the developers own the copyrights.  Team Twiizers owns the copyright on their hacks, and they have used DMCA takedowns successfully against scammers who were distributing them without authorization.

Copyrights apply to all creative works.  Almost anything you create is a creative work; computer code is included in that.

The ONLY way that another code author can legally post a code that's identical to yours without your consent is if they developed it in a "clean room"; that is, they never looked at your code while making their identical code.  They're welcome to look at how your code affects the game (that's protected by the DMCA's Reverse Engineering Exception), but they can't look at your code itself.  Furthermore, in the U.S., the burden of proof for the use of the clean room falls on the person who's using the clean room -- you don't have to prove that someone stole your code; they have to prove that they didn't.  (The question of what constitutes significant proof varies.)

I think the current copyright laws (with the likes of DMCA) have gone too far in controlling what other people can do with the so called "intellectual property" that they have access to, after it's left the hands of the creator. I've a problem with that principle.

megazig

You'd be hardup tryin to defend copyright on a code that's only a few bytes. Longer codes might get through, but small blobs are not explicitly covered

u might get a way with it if say its an ASM code hand u wrote it all.. not just changed an address from Addi to nop .. and so on ..

this would rule out any kinda memory code.. and so on ..
and would only apply to codes like Marios costume changer .. (the one thats like fully asm about 10 or so lines ..

99% of codes built are not Custom code and are just Simple 1 liners .. op changers this would not full under the creative work..

this is the reason why cheat divices used Encryptions .. so ppl could not streal there code and could sue if the compeating divice broke there encrytion and poster there codes .. this was proven already by a cheat divice..
and again it only applied to the Custom Subrutines ..

Codebreaker vs Gameshark,..
