I'm all for it. Like put a chatbox that someone could upload on to the the main forum page or something.

just get a free XAT chat and put a redirect on the forum, takes less than 5 minutes to set up

wait wait wait wait, I'v never actually used skype group chat, and isn't it a bad idea, cause what if someone just wants to ask something really quickly, but they're not part of the group? So again I say, IRC would be better, as you don't need to invite people to access it.

Agreed, IRC is better, and still easy to use... freenode offers web-based chat for its IRC rooms, so people don't have to know how to use an IRC client.
