Ocarina is the old name for the code handler.  We don't use ocarina anymore, so anything regarding "ocarina" is out-dated.

Gecko OS is the preferred way to use cheat codes with your Wii games.  First, place Gecko OS on the SD card like any other homebrew app.  http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Gecko_OS

Then, get some cheat codes from the database.  http://www.geckocodes.org/

Now you need to convert your codes to GCT.  Either use the database's Online GCT Creator, Accio Hacks, Code Manager, or Simple GCT Editor.

Once you have a GCT file, make sure it is named the same as your game (e.g. codes for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would go in the file RZDE01.gct).

Place the GCT in SD:\codes\

Launch Gecko OS from HBC and start your game.  If it says "no codes found" you did something wrong.

Did you unzip the "gecko1931" file that you downloaded off of Wiibrew?  If not, extract the contents of the ZIP file, and open the "gecko1931" folder.  After that, open the "Gecko1931" folder, and then open the next "Gecko1931" folder that you see.  Next, open the folder called "HBC."  Next, copy or move the "Gecko1931" folder that you see into the "apps" folder on the root of your SD card.  It should look like this...

SD:\apps\Gecko1931

You should see the following files inside that folder...

SD:\apps\Gecko1931\boot.elf
SD:\apps\Gecko1931\icon.png
SD:\apps\Gecko1931\meta.xml

After you have done that, it should show on the Homebrew Channel.

Gecko OS only works for retail discs.  As per the rules, backup loaders are not supported on this forum.  http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,1671.0.html

Not sure if thes belongs here, but how do I delete codes in Ocarina? Brawl has so many, that codes at the bottom have been chopped off. Where are the codes for Ocarina stored?

BTW, I'm using a USB device. I know how to use Gecko on SD, but not on USB.
