I would like to request some codes for the very first version of Ocarina of Time (US). Clearly, this game is NOT from Nintendo, it is an inject and as such finding codes for it has proved to be insanely difficult or next to impossible. Maybe I am simply doing something wrong, but I find that highly unlikely. Still, should someone be able to prove me wrong I would be more thankful than not. I am not requesting a ton of codes just maybe a few converted for it. Such things as the following are really all I would like and they are listed in order of importance to me:

  • Infinite Health (not max)
  • Infinite Magic (not max)
  • Infinite Item ammo (Bombs, Arrows, Deku seeds, etc)
  • Rupees don't decrease when buying (or similar)
  • Fun codes (Multiple-Links, Invincibility, Fast Epona, etc.
  • Anything else would just be nice

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help. I was amazed to find that nothing was created for this injection as I would have thought it to be very popular since it includes so many original concepts/ideas that were later taken out or heavily modified in later revisions of the ROM. If anyone can point me to an already created code-list for this I will be astonished. I spent hours searching through Google trying to find anything I could without even a little success. Once again, thank you to anyone who can help. Oh and FYI, I already tried the so-called 'Universal codes' from the OOT pages in the db and they either don't work at all or they lock up the game upon the Classic Controller warning screen.

EDIT: Well, I would post up a link to obtain the WAD file for this inject to possibly assist in code-porting but I assume that is against the forum rules so I will not. Google is your friend. This is also referred to as the Gold Edition of OOT for those who are curious. Anyway, figured I should add this up.

What exactly is this supposed to do. Mind you, i'm asking before I try it out. Thanks!
-gygabyte666

gygabyte666

Ah, that code. Yeah I saw that one in the database but it was the only region-free one that I didn't test on this. Every other one I found I tried. Sadly, they only froze it at the Classic Controller screen. Thank you, will test as soon as I can use my GC controller later (it's 2:46am here) and post my results.
-gygabyte666

gygabyte666

On that page yes, but I was so determined I went against my gut-feeling and tried some I found listed for Master Quest. After all, in my mindset they had a fairly good chance of working as Master Quest really isn't that much different from the original. Ultimately though, I choose those since most of them were what I really wanted anyway. Like I said, I was assuming ahead of time they wouldn't work but I decided to try anyway. But yes, you are correct otherwise.
-gygabyte666

gygabyte666

That sir, is what we call a failure.

Heh, figured i'd throw in some humor there. Anyway, yeah I tested the codes out and as you may have guessed, it's a no go. In fact, the only visible change I could see in-game was that they significantly slowed it down. Especially at night when the enemies come out. There was some extreme lag, even when trying to exit back to the home menu. I tested using a GC controller in each port to make sure I was doing it right. Nothing.

Well, I give you all props for being able to do this kind of stuff. I probably could too actually as I used to play around with it back in GameGenie/Early GameShark days. Keyword though is that I played with it. Very rarely did I ever get lucky enough to whip out some cool, useful codes. I suppose I probably just didn't understand enough about it. I would like to do it again someday probably but I dunno when. Sadly, the Gecko is just too pricey for me, especially since I would probably not really get anywhere using it, not without some better understanding of how it works and all that.

Awesome! Now, is the Max Inf Hearts code interchangeable? Basically, can I choose only one code line to enable only Infinite Hearts, while the other does Max, or is that not gonna work? Thanks so much either way. I'll check them and report back.
-gygabyte666

gygabyte666

Tested them all out and they all work! Thank you so much! Now if I could just get my hands on the Infinite Magic & Infinite Item ammo codes i'll be all set. As mentioned before, I'd like to play around with the Link-cloning code too but I can live without. Oh and I answered my own questions with swapping code lines for Max/Infinite Hearts. Yes, the one code can be striped out and used exclusively for Infinite Health. Didn't throughly test it yet (Bosses, gaining more hearts, etc.) but it works well when I let multiple enemies hit me, as usual i'll update it if anything uh, erratic starts happening with it. Here is the exact code, just for those curious/following the thread:

Infinite Health [GMO]
02F8E8A0 00000140

UPDATE: Been using the above code for sometime now (roughly, two dungeons, etc.) with no issues at all. It handles obtaining new hearts well as well as new heart pieces. I would go ahead and feel confident saying this code is relatively bug-free. I've had no issues with it.

Anyway, to confirm once more, yes GMO they all work and they all work great! I think the Max Hearts part of the code may cause people issues in the game later on (especially if used early on) but that's purely theoretical. I say this because I noticed it glitches out the Heart Pieces section of the menu and that's why it raised concerns with me (ex: gaining more Hearts/Pieces later on). Thanks so much! Throw more my way if you want/can and i'd be happy to test them.

May I suggest this all be added to the DB soon?

EDIT: Yeah, just checked the DB and these are there so oops. Nevermind then I guess...
EDIT #2: Consider adding this to the list. Tested and working!

I'm currently trying to convert the Infinite Item Ammo code, but no luck yet. I'm was just excited that I got one converted.

Figured i'd make a new reply. Several converts now, and all tested & WORKING! Oh and before I forget, should there be typos or errors in this post, I apologize but i've had no sleep and am very tired, i'll fix it later if it needs it. The codes won't be wrong though as I simply copy/pasted them from my testing code list. Anyway, hopefully they can be added to the DB soon. If I can manage, I wouldn't mind adding them myself, should I be given the OK that is. Anyway here they all are and once more, they are all TESTED and WORKING:

Great! Those look awesome. Nice job on making so many. I'm sure they'll be handy. I'll try to test them but it'll have to wait till tomorrow for me. I'm exhausted and finally going to bed for the night. Thanks again for all your help and everything up till now. I'll continue this tomorrow. Hopefully I can learn to use the converter too. :)
-gygabyte666

gygabyte666

Well, my gamesave is toast for this now. It would seem that my unintentional use of the extra code line for the Infinite Item Ammo convert has caused the game to trip out right before the Fire Temple. Basically, I can not progress to actually enter the room of Darunia or the Goron shop for that matter. So if I plan to continue with this save, seems I'll have to find codes to do it.

Totally sucks, wish I knew how to swap saves or something so I didn't have to start ALL over again. Anyone know of a method to transfer VC saves between originals & injects?

As soon as I realized the one code line gave me all Tunics & Swords I had a feeling I was screwed later on. I should have stopped playing then and restarted. :(
-gygabyte666

dcx2

Try this.

Take the All Tunics and Swords code.  Figure out how to make it *remove* the tunic or sword that's giving you a problem (i.e. turn all tunics/swords into no tunics/swords, except for the defaults).  Then save.  Then leave the game, remove the code, and start it again.  You hopefully won't have the problematic items anymore and plot will progress.
