Another online game ruined by hackers the week it was released...

Does it feel good to destroy other people's fun?  Do you feel better knowing that folks like you will probably cost Sega money, because people won't want to buy a game with rampant multi-player cheating?

I should get in contact with them and give them tips on how to stop hackers.

you can't stop hackers
Sorry, but I don't like little 14 year olds who just hack online games and think they are big and bad to make non host codes and even dumb enough to just release them to everyone so that everyone who wants to play the game gets pissed off cause every other person is cheating. Example is seth@wiiplaza. How many updates were there to COD and he just gets them patched every other week. The only online codes I would consider fair would be zoom mods for guns.

I haven't even had a chance to try out this game even though i bought it new and the codes are already out.

The way they will stop the hackers like us is stop making games completely. Or disable Wi-Fi from their games. Or even pull the metroid other M bullshit. -_-

Like i said, im not releasing my codes so don't get mad at me.

Exactly this.
And no..he won't release the code.  It will end up "leaked" and another person will end up with some extra cash in their pockets due to said "leak".

dcx2, you should contact them and give a few pointers on how to prevent this from happening.  Developers are losing money, gamers are losing fun and the griefers and profiting while feeling they have the right to.

I got nothing against hacking/code creating/cheating...just keep that **** off the online side of gaming.  Ruin the game for yourself and not everyone else.

I don't publicly release dangerous hacks for new games anymore :\

I didn't for tcon1 either... I was on vacation when this came out so I kinda missed it. Also the online update doesn't like SNEEK :(

I was on vacation also.
It´s the first time I can play TC2 now.
HVS assured to get some good hacking protection.
However, they got one which can detect codes on WiFi login...
but this wasn´t enough to stop the hackers anyways!

@Dcx2:
You´d better help them out, it can´t continue like this!

@77ethod:
The code can´t be unpatchable except it is a C0 or F6 code and even then... <_<
To find this code or maybe other destructive codes won´t be hard anyways.

Another game is doomed, please everyone don´t release good codes I still want to enjoy the game since the first part got totally shitty with all the noobz using inf. rocket launcher + Inf. Health omg ::)
Raping all the WiFi games really gets old and should be stoped now, even if I´m an online hacker also ...

I'm not giving it to anyone..  :eek:  happy ?

Making a video and showing off what you're capable of in a short time- while never giving it out to anyone- is exactly the thing I would encourage when a hack works online.
Further, none of these codes are revolutionary ideas to fuck over online play- they're all quite basic... (so it's not giving asshole hackers any new ideas)

I personally feel there's maybe a little bit too much grief going 777eThOd*'s way on this. Especially since he said he won't give it out..

Just my 2 cents.

Am I hallucinating?

No, this is real...wow.

Well I decided to swing by the Conduit 2's board on gamefaqs, and seeing as there are HVS staff members frequenting that board apparently, as well as a thread in regards to who is hacking in matches, they've put 777eThOd* on their 'blacklist' apparently.

I'd have to agree James, I think the subset of online hackers who make sure that the game doesn't get ruined (i.e. don't release the code) are behaving responsibly.  Being clever enough to make a code work online isn't a bad thing, it's a great way to gain experience with reverse-engineering.  And so long as the cheating doesn't spread and stays in a couple of YouTube videos, I'd say it's a win-win: hackers get their recognition, gamers get to play their games online, and game devs don't lose money.  Is that so bad?

(Unfortunately, many online hackers don't behave responsibly... but that shouldn't be construed to mean that all online hackers are irresponsible jerks.)
