need help fixing

i had the 'boot to channel' thing so id be able to use gecko os codes on VC games.
but one time when i started gecko, it gave ma a screen saying 'system files are corrupted'
so i reset the console worried, but NOTHING was wrong, missing or broken except for one thing.

boot to channel was gone, it took me forever to get it working back then and now its gone for whatever reason.
how would i go about restoring it? trucha bug it again? is there a new/better method?

any help is much appreciated.
