Color changing codes

I've seen one or two color changing codes but that was before I had my usb gecko. Now I want to know how to make one. I have no idea where to start. I am still very new so if it requires lots of lines of code I might not be able to do it.

if its cod, all you should really have to change is one digit (aka 0-9) just locate where your proper name address is. and then change the proper number to change the color. voila

(aka: ^4 you would need to change the value to ^5 or whatever. of course this is ASCII)

normally, it´s pretty random when poking some floats and you write down the code, when somthing changed (I think)
I never really delt with it, since it´s not a useful hack... :(
