Ok sorry again for my ignorance and hopefully I'm putting this in the right forum!

I HAVE searched but not much comes back for specifically what I have going on, but I probably just wasn't using the right search words.

So here's my setup.

No wireless connection as of yet...will soon though.
Wii 4.2u
Wii Play Original disk (the only game I want to mod)
Gecko 1.9.3.1
code downloader
cheat manager.
homebrew channel

I have Punch out already loaded as a channel (no disk) that was put on there from the previous owner. I used Code Downloaded to get the codes. But I can't save the punch out file to the SD card, the wii won't let me copy it. So I'm assuming I need to launch it through gecko right? Can't do that since it reads the disk right?
jeez I'm freakin retarded with this stuff!

Just did some more searching...do I need a preloader?

.

doomkaiber001

From what I've heard, preloader is a bad thing...

Remove these two:
code downloader
cheat manager.

and get this one:
http://geckocodes.org/AH.php

Gecko OS can launch channels. Just make sure the SD Cheats option is turned on in Gecko OS.

Ok I killed the cheat manager and code downloader. Got that app succussfully installed, found the codes, and made the gct files for them. All is super duper, except when I 'launch game' in gecko it tells me there's no disk.  :(   How do I get around that? And I also made sure SD cheats is on....

James0x57

don't 'launch game'
'launch channel'

if there is no option for launch channel, do a search on here for that problem. Others have had it too

I did some reading, and a lot of what I saw was about downgrading. Should I do that and what version? Kinda looks pretty dangerous.  :/

Romaap

You just have to patch IOS36 for that.
Just do a search here or on google.

You can also find some info here.

doomkaiber001

Don't downgrade! It's dangerous to your Wii

cydp3

Yes, doomkaiber is right, don't downgrade. Try what Romaap said.
