im glad to join such a great forum...but i need a little help

hello guys im new here but i have been lurking alot for the past few weeks ever since i learned to hack. i unfortunately have wii 4.3E and i updated it even before i knew about homebrew. I fully know how to use gecko OS and i have homebrew browser. I can also slightly use brawlbox. i was just wanting to say you guys have a great community here and i am happy that i joined because i know i can get help..... now for the part i need you all

basically the whole point of this topic is suggestions to make my wii a better machine...... i have seen alot about IOS36 or something,is that is safer than downgrading so you could do more things..... what are the benefits of this?

you dont have to downgrade. and the general opinion is downgrading is hazardous if it can be avoided. do you have Brawl or Indiana Jones? there are two different ways of getting homebrew via those methods. (brawl being easier)

did you read correctly..... i already have homebrew and i am aware of how to hack... but what other say apps? are good for homebrew ?

I don't think riivolution loads games (without knowing a lot about it). Perhaps you got it mixed up with Ocarina? If so, I'd use Gecko OS.

You don't need to downgrade, I'm on v4.3e, and I have no problems.

If you want a list of apps so you can look at them and compare, look at this:

On that page, if you click on the apps name there is a Download button to the right, but you won't need to do this because you have the Homebrew Browser.

I believe Riivolution is for loading game patches from the SD card.  You can do some pretty crazy stuff...I think the Fatal Frame 4 translation for the Wii was released as a Riivolution patch.

Gecko OS can do patches, but I think it works differently than Riivolution.  It's more for using cheats, anyway.

The IOS36 stuff is for loading channels (i.e. WiiWare/VC).  There is an app, Simple IOS Patcher, that will patch your IOS36 for you, without downgrading anything.  See the Wii Hacking Basics sticky.  http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,6843.msg59073.html#msg59073

I agree, Accio Hacks allow you to change codes on your Wii, whereas if you use Codemanager you have to put your sd in your pc, which takes much longer.

Yeah! You have to install patched I0S36, and that gives Gecko the ability to launch channels. All you need then are the codes...

Riivolution does indeed load games. it can do its own memory patches along with file replacements (wholey or in part).
along with that it can  use the code handler from GeckoOS so it can do the usbgecko stuff too. (and can do ocarina/wiird cheats)
