FYI, you could have just Googled based on my previous post and you would have found it.

Anyway, no info about the project has come out since then that I know of, so I'd still advise getting a USB Gecko since it's not clear when MegaIOS will be finished.  Also, USB Gecko works on GameCube games; MegaIOS can't (for the same reasons that DIOS-MIOS got scrapped).
after reading that it seems megaios got scrapped also

Nice, good to hear.  I do have a question regarding megaIOS, if you're willing and able to answer.  One advantage that the USB Gecko has is that sending/receiving data can easily be done by a small ASM function.  I'm utilizing this in one of my projects so that an ASM Ocarina code can send/receive an arbitrary number of bytes from an arbitrary buffer address, which a PC app of my design will interpret.  Would something similar be possible with megaIOS, so that e.g. an ASM Ocarina code could branch to some function provided by megaIOS which sends/receives an arbitrary number of bytes via WiFi?

Thanks!

sure, it'd be possible. it has a similar ppc blob stuck in the 0x80001800 area and uses wifi as an interface like odehandler.s uses usbgecko/exi right now
