i'm having trouble with the Always Have Items*Works anywhere[dexter0] about when wanting to play 2 players with cheats.  You see, when 2 players are played with cheats, player 1 doesnt got the items but player 2 does.  When i push the button activator for example the mega shroom, it is not usable for player 1 but for player 2 it is.  Player 1 controls the items that were set as button activators on player 1 itself to player 2 which is weird.  Can anyone help with this? Please, i beg you!!!

I have the current activator codes for the Wiimote(NTSC-U) installed and working.  however, i hate the use of the 1 button.  HOw about if it was positioned on the shoulder button of the nunchuk, C button i think.  Upper button..I just think it would give me a bit more flexibility with racing.  Would it cause problems knowing that that is a "look behind you" button?? Or maybe we could assign the B Key to activate any item you're carrying.  Perhaps both..

Have you guys ever thought of doing a button activator for the items... for example b+left = red turtle, b+up = bullet... It works well! I'll give you the codes but it's for pal...

Well, the codes im using dont seem to work Online..Am i enabling the wrong ones??Or maybe when i started editing the txt. file i edited the wrong ones..I know that there are two versions apparently.  One from Volderbeek and the other from Dexter. Which ones work online..i couldnt understand from the instructions. BTW  Im using NTSC.

Oh. Ok..Is there a particular reason for that or is it just that no one has attempted it or something.  Or perhaps its just a conscious decision??

It causes problems for the company.

dcx2 explains it better:

When you cheat online, you do more than piss off the people you're playing against.

When the publisher hears that online cheating on their server is rampant, they hold meetings.  They discuss potential strategies to thwart online cheaters.  They allocate budget money to have developers incorporate changes that can be used to prevent online cheating.  The anti-cheating algorithms also need tested.  Or maybe they just stop providing free public servers altogether.

The time spent in those meetings could have been discussing improvements to the game, or extra levels.  The developer time could be spent fixing more bugs or adding those extra levels.  The testing time could be used to find more glitches.

By cheating online, you not only ruin the game of those you're playing with.  You ruin future games by forcing the publisher to allocate scarce resources away from actual game development.  Do not bite the hand that feeds you.

As the title suggests, I'd like, if possible, to get a cheat code that works on OFFLINE mode multiplayer... I don't even have WiFi, but I always play with by brother-in-law and we'd like to mess around if possible.

The cheat we are really looking for is: press a button (or combination of buttons) to get an item. Would this be possible?!

ps: I hope this thread is ok, I know the rules, but, as far as I'm concerned, we are just not supposed to ask for cheats that would work on the internet, right? I don't give a damn about those, I want a code for OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER!

Anyway, I've found this thread before I opened mine; unfortunately, it does not help me. The codes here only work @single player. As I said, I'm NOT asking for codes to use online, I just want codes that will work @OFFLINE multiplayer. And none of the ones here do.

I know that on the N64 version there is a bit that triggers the loop for the items and another that determines if an item is being held.
