Hey all, there is a little known game that was hacked by GMO called Home Sweet Home that has an infinite money code on it that does not work for me, though it seems to work for others. I thought I would try to fix it for me and maybe come up with a couple more since it is an easy game to hack since it is slow paced and the numbers change regularly and they are displayed constantly, hence easy to search for and cut my teeth on. But I am having trouble getting the Wii/USB Gecko/Wiird working for this particular game. I have done the normal plug the USB Gecko into slot B and connect the USB wire to my PC then boot up the game with Gecko OS 1.9.3.1, and then once the game is started I open WiirdGUI. But everytime I do, WiirdGUI is just dead, it just sits there and doesn't respond to anything I do or anything I click on. I have tried starting WiirdGUI at different times in the boot up sequence but it just causes issues and either causes the Wii to crash or locks up Gecko OS. I have worked on NES, SNES, and Wii, titles before, but this is my first attempt on a WiiWare title so I do not know if I am doing something wrong or what. When starting the game it says booting up with hooks but I am not sure if these are right or not and if not if they can be changed and how. Also it is been a while since I used the USB Gecko so it is possible that I am just making a stupid noob mistake. If anyone knows how to get this game started with USB Gecko and WiirdGUI working please let me know. I would appreciate it alot. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the dumb question but I am stuck. Have a good one all.

Edit A Couple Hours Later: I just found out that now none of the VC/WW Channels will work. I can no longer use my USB Gecko on anything except Wii Discs. Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue. I have not changed anything in regards to IOS36 or any other IOS for that matter and I have not changed Windows OS versions or updated anything other than Internet explorer. The only thing that is different since I was last able to use my USB Gecko on VC/WW channels is that I have installed a drivekey modchip, but I turned it off to make sure it was not the issue, and I have installed Norton Antivirus instead of Microsoft OneCare but again I have Norton turned off temporarly to make sure it was not the cause. This is really bugging me as I really want to be able to use my USB Gecko on VC/WW channels. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them and that did not work and I have tried using different USB ports and rebooting the PC and the Wii. I am running out of ideas. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance. Have a good one all.

Edit Several Hours Later: Do my config settings need to be setup in a certain way so as to allow WW/VC games to be used by the USB Gecko? Do I need hooks to be set to something other than default do I need to enable debug or something? Do I need to turn SD cheats off? Whenever I get a WW/VC game started and try to start Wiird afterwards the only button that works is show Wiird and it just keeps saying that there is a send error and that it is resetting the USB Gecko Device Driver and sending again. It never connects. But Wiird32 does connect, the command line prompt version. So far the only way WiirdGUI has worked is for a disc based game and that is by starting it in Gecko OS and letting it boot up the game. It wont do that for a channel though, so nothing I try will allow me to use my USB Gecko on a WW/VC channel. I used to be able to do this, I don't know what has gone wrong but its ticking me off. If anyone could help I would be very appreciative. This is just about all the info I can provide on the situation. If you need more or have questions feel free to ask and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Elmoreas

What exactly does that mean? Install Trucha Bug, ES Identify, and NAND Permissions on IOS'es 53, 55, and 56? Or something else? Also if it was working for me before why would I need to install these now to make it work again, what changed to make it need these to require these new IOSes to function. And one last thing once installed what do I do exactly, step by step, to make Wiird function with a WW/VC game. Do I start up Gecko OS then Start the game then start Wiird or is it in a different order, and do the config settings need to be set a certain way or is default okay? Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Elmoreas

P.S. If anyone else has advice or input it would be appreciated too. Thank you too for your help. -Elmoreas

find the wads for IOS 53, 55, and 56 and install them, most new games require these to play them

Nevermind Issue Resolved... Sort of. My IOS36 is Corrupt.

Now I have to figure out how to use Anytitle Deleter (Mod), and delete IOS36 and then restore it with DOPMii Restorer or Trucha Bug Restorer. I am just leary of messing with it as right now I at least have the ability to cheat on WW/VC games and use USB Gecko on Disc Games. If I mess this up I could lose all that and have nothing. Not sure what I am going to do but at least I know what is wrong now. Thanks for your help. Later.

I wouldn't delete an IOS. Especially not IOS36. You know that all everything booted from HBC will stop working if you do?

Just overwrite the IOS36 you have now with a patched one, that will solve your problem if it was a corrupted IOS.

elmoreas

I have tried to overwrite the current IOS 36 with a new patched one but it will not let me as IOS36 is already patched, though corrupted. I was advised by somone over on wiibrew to delete IOS36 and reinstall it with DOPMii restorer but I was concerned about the whole issue of HBC not working due to the deletion of it and am in the process of a PM conversation with him about it now. My only Trucha signed IOS is IOS36 and it is corrupt and I need a Trucha signed IOS to run a program to fix IOS36, so it is a catch 22 there. I am in a bit of a pickle and not sure what to do, if you have any advice it would be appreciated. Thanks.
