Help Loading Gecko 1.9.3

I just finished loading homebrew using bannerbomb and my sd card.... i have os 4.1 on my wii...  the only game I currently play is mario kart.... can someone walk me through the easiest way to load the kart cheats for online play...

i have downloaded the gecko 1.9.3 to my sd card, but i dont know what im doing, it does not show up on my homebrew channel menu....  please walk me through this....

do i need this usb gecko to use gecko?  I am a total newb..forgive me....  HELP!!!!

forgot to add... my wii is 2 years old... i know the age makes a difference from what i read.

You probably have the directories in the wrong place.
When you download Gecko, extract it and search for a folder called HBC.
Inside that directory is one called Gecko193, copy that one to SD:/apps
So the layout on your SD card should look something like this:

SD:
     apps
           Gecko193
                        boot.dol
                        meta.xml
                        icon.png
