no, the pointer tab is only for doing dumps.
Searching must be done with an external app (like Pointersearch v4 by Dr.Pepper).
Also, bug reports became quite pointless. Nobody cares anymore.

Are you sure because the pointer tab asks for dumps, you dump the dumps on the tools tab

Nobody cares about bugs anymore? That's not cool

yeah, they are supposed to be put into an external application so that gecko.net doesn´t lock up and you can continue working with codes instead.
Well, that´s what I do and I´m fine with it. The only damn thing with PointerSearch by Dr.Pepper is that one can´t "force" pointer in pointer.
The app only performs a pointer in pointer search when there´s no regular pointer that got found.
The tool itself is very fast, no comparison to WiiRd Grin

If you're supposed to be using an external application then why is their even a pointer search tab? Also I've used Dr.Pepper's tool and it takes just a couple seconds just like WiiRd, it doesn't really seem faster

lol?
WiiRd takes AGES on pointer in pointer searches while PointerSearch does it in like 1 minute.

In my experience neither of them has ever taken a whole minute, I don't know what you were doing wrong

Wut is this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li3FCPBHsZ8

How am I supposed to debug my codes if I can't see the breakpoint? >.<
I was trying to debug this code:
http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,8972.msg76254.html#msg76254

Also, since I used the pointer tab for the first time, I think the results should be clickable so that it takes you to that address in memory. Probably not necessary, but since it was my first time doing a pointer search, I wanted to make sure the results were good. And I don't think you can copy from the results textbox. And memview should have right click options for the pointer tab. Also, the dumps checkboxes are bootleg. I was adding dumps from 3 to 1 and it ended up checking the boxes for dumps 1 when I did dumps 2. So I was afraid it might go wrong. But it didn't. Other than that, the pointer tab is awesome. It does most of the work for you and then sends the data to dr. pepper's tool I think.

Edit: saw this at the code's address
804EB33C:  4800002B   bla   0x28

Well now I know why the code doesn't work >.> it should be b 0xsomething. But that was totally gecko.nets fault too XD. But it was though. I did right click->gct code on this. But whatever. Still wanna know why gecko.net gave me a blank BP.

yep, gecko.net sometimes gives "invalid address" message as crash breakpoint.
Or it just shows blank. Idk what went wrong with it then... :|
The exception message is misleading, too. It often asks more than once to change to breakpoints tab.
And it crashes some games when an empty codelist is sent. (Also brings up the exception message).
A source/destination register was then damaged. It´s not just me. Maybe I´ll make a video of it. >_<

So yeah, I can replicate the exact same you showed in your video. tongue
You were hacking Kirby. If you hadn´t applied the patches, it would enter a deadloop which just disconnects gecko.net.
So that´s not it.

P.S.
Your screen recording software is quite retarded. May you find a non-advertising one. xD

Well the code was wrong and that was the reason for the crash. I connected the gecko to see what was the problem. After the code was fixed, there's no more crashes.

re: P.S.
Yeah I hated AVS after I saw that. Worst watermark ever. Who would want to buy it after seeing that? I uninstalled it with the quickness. The search continues. >.<

This happened enough times to be a problem. I'm doing a search to find spark charge in Kirby's return to dreamland. The stuff I found in the 80s didn't help, so I thought maybe the 90s.

Unknown 8-bit search in the 90s with kirby just being spark
Greater than search at full charge
Less than search when it goes down one level(green)
Less than search when it goes down another level(a little static). But gecko.net stops responding instead.

This happened 3x in a row, so I stopped. I posted enough codes for one day.

you should be looking through mem80 since NONE of the existing codes were located in mem90...
I don´t think that there´s anything useful in this area for Kirby.
Games with very little ISO size will mostly likely never use mem90 since their needed RAM is too little to be expanded to mem90.
There´s not much data. Anyways, it may NOT disconnect Gecko.Net...

I noticed that reconnecting sometimes doesn´t work with Ossleepthread Hook.
I plug the USB cable, close gecko.net, plug back in, reconnect (won´t reconnect like if the game was crashed), but game is still running.

Yes, Riivolution supports the USB Gecko.

http://rvlution.net/wiki/Ocarina_Codes

Riivolution also supports wifi redirection.  So you can keep the code handler binary on your computer, so you can easily swap in new code handlers.  But you would have to restart (EDIT: restart Riivolution not the PC), because Riivolution copies the codehandler.bin file into memory when the game is loaded.  About as brain-dead simple as it gets in terms of upgrading your code handler, but that's if you get Riivolution working, and it doesn't support channel cheats or GC games.

Hence why I lean more toward using gameconfig pokes, because it's widely supported due to Brawl+.

I'm pretty much confused.

I have the options on my screen because of the XML file. I can change the hook type... RFEE01 (Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn)

And I can see on Gecko.NET that it recognized the game on Riivolution. The problem is... whenever I do something, ANYTHING, like sending cheats, or even looking at the memory viewer by entering an address... the game freezes. And I can do nothing but turn off the Wii by holding the power button.

I've changed it to different hooks and I still can't do anything but freeze.

The regular SD cheats work, but doing anything with the USBGecko kills it.

Same with me. Except it just freezes if I connect the gecko. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I kind of want the convenience of swapping files with riivolution and having the power of my gecko at the same time. But no can do. Sad

I was gonna look into it eventually. It looks like instead of gameconfig.txt you can put the stuff in the xml... I want the gecko to work first though. >.<

OMG, I finally found out about the "empty codelist freezing issue".
It was because I once had a bad undo line somewhere on the codelist which is poked when I send/disable codes.
It gets executed and crashes.
Not too good when there´s moving assembly, because I won´t be able to keep all those codes in one list since all undo lines will be poked, no matter which codes I send/don´t send. I suggest to only poke the ones, that are ticked. Anyways, it´s one of my favorite features on Gecko.Net. Grin
