Preventing game disk from system updating?

I recently installed Homebrew Channel and Gecko, and used Trucha Bug Restorer to patch IOSs on my 4.2U Wii, however, somewhere along the way, some of my games decided they required a system update before playing.  I can load and play them through Gecko perfectly fine, but I've been told that there's a way to use Gecko to prevent the system update from overtaking the disk channel, so I could play normally instead of needing to load in Gecko.  Does any such thing exist?

You can stop the updates, but not with Gecko.
But Preloader can.

Wii ver4.1U... I'm screwed, then. got super mario bros. Wii and it's asking for an update. thought bout Preloader, but not to sure "IF" IT WILL HELP, but be cool if it did help. is there way of updating my Wii without doing it through Nintendo?
