RSR: I had the exact same problem; just switch your status to busy and leave it there. All the annoying noises are gone!

People can get your IP with ANY instant messenger if they know what they're doing. =|
And you must have no idea how many of the sites you go to that will record and log your IP address and tons of other info on you with each click. Google, for one.

You can always change the sound of the msn noises to nothing, or something quiet

I do use forums, and AIM, Its just I don't like microsoft. and I don't care who has my IP, its just the people that use MSN are sketchy no offense...

Anyways. I do use microsoft windows. Doesn't mean its not evil, just means I'm a hypocrite.
