Help please

I just bought the usb gecko but... i have no idea how to use it. Ive been searching all day for an faq or something telling me what to install, where to install it ect. but everything just talks about stuff i don't understand.. all i want to do it get codes for my game... didn't think it would be this hard. any help would be greatly appreciated. First thing i did was install homebrew but my computer doesn't recognize the usb gecko. i have the driver installed that was on the cd that came with it. I also have the gecko os on my homebrew list but it says its not a valid application or something like that when i try and run it. I have version 4.0 i think on my wii so could that be the problem?

the usb gecko plugs into your wii and a usb cable goes from that to your pc

you then need to run your game through gecko os which, sounds like you have an old version which the new homebrew channel doesn't run

have you got gecko os 1.9.1?

you dont need a usbgecko to use cheats

If you GeckoOS file is an .elf you need to convert it. .elf is an older format as Panda said.

Google "elf to dol converter" or simply download the latest version from
http://www.usbgecko.com/manual.htm

The best option is to just download Gecko 1.9

i wish i would of known i didnt need usb gecko. but i did download gecko 1.9.0.1 and got things working. problem is lol most codes dont seem to work that Ive tried. i dont understand why. but atleast i got 1 code to work.
