Alright I just need a quick answer please, and I have a feeling I might get chewed up for asking this cause it's not "RIGHT".

Here is what's going on, I have installed Homebrew just recently, I have Version 3.3 USA Wii, now I installed Menu Loader and Gecko OS cause they were the choice on the the Homebrew Menu installer program.

I recently downloaded One Piece Unlimited Cruise 1 JP version and burnt it,  wanted to play it till the US Version is announce... if ever, if it gets denied I plan on buying the EU version once it comes out cause I know I can just gecko for the real copy, cause it was able to work on a DVD-r it's not a dual layered game, I wanted to play it till the EU or hopefully US version comes out.

I keep getting a No DVD Error, now question, if you can't answer just email me please, if you don't like the whole download stuff that's fine, but understand I plan on buying it (Saving up for it right now as we speak) and just want to enjoy it until one comes out that can be read/ understood.

So the Question, CAN Gecko Play BackUps?, If not, can another program play Backups? Ir nothing can fine can I atleast play the EU version, or will I have to get the JP version?

My Email is [email protected]

Please be nice, I understand the whole pirate backup thing, but I'm just trying enjoy one of my favorite anime based games that the US seems determined to ruin cause we suck, and I want to play it for now till we get it here, can get some use out of my Wii which is collecting dust :P

Nice Try, but I'm not an idiot and I'm not falling for that, I just a clear answer, that's all, if there is none I will just wait, can atleast this program make a EU game work on a US Console?

This forum is about Wii Hacking/cheats code, not piracy...
Ask on GBATemp or Tehskeen !

Great I knew that before I asked, but still figured I asked, yet you never answer my legit question will a REAL copy of an EU game work on an US console with THIS program yes or no?

I went to that site that you said thanks to a person who wasn't rude about it, and honestly what i read seems like alot of risk and stuff that's more of a pain then what it's really worth at the moment, so again please answer my legit question now if you would please thank you.

And the answer to your question is No, No version of Gecko OS can run backup games on an unmodified and it never will.

Regarding other loaders, i really don't know and its best to search google or other sites for that stuff as regardless of what people think warez loaders are illegal, and even the EULA says that "backup" or "archival" copies are prohibited so that argument is very thin and wouldn't stand up in court.

By REAL copy you mean pressed disc? If it's a pressed commercial disc then it runs.. if it's a copy, then like Nuke said, Gecko will be unable to launch it. Only a modchip will help you out there!

I dunno, but I think he wants to know if the PAL version will work on a NTSC wii. :\

Bingo, I was planning on Buying the EU version of One Piece Unlimited Cruise 1 and 2 anyway, I was just wanting to play the copy of the JP version so I can get some enjoyment out of it, cause I didn't have the the money to buy both the JP versions of the game seeing as the total cost on playasia would be around 150-160 Dollars and I don't have that much to spare at the moment, when I can also get both 1 and 2 EU version for around 90 Dollars instead total.

That was my original intention from the get go, but the EU version aren't out as of yet, and since we can't get a damn response from the US deptartment for NamcoBandai I plan on buying them for the EU if nothing is announce by the time the 2 game comes out in EU.

Seeing as how I would have to downgrade my system and re-upgrade and risk multi bricking issues, I prefer not to mess with it.

SOOOO again WHEN I buy the EU version of the game WILL I be able to play it on my US SYSTEM with Gecko OS?

That means yes, Zignoff.

I believe someone did release an unofficial version of gecko os that allows the loading of backups, and is a channel. I can't tell you where it is, but you could just google it. The original gecko os does not support backup loading, but I think it allows region-free games that are originals.

EDIT: Not promoting piracy, just saying that it is possible, and you might be able to do such a thing if you found it.

You have just invented the wheel.. we're very well aware, basically all piracy loaders including USB loaders use Gecko code.. Gecko simply was the first application ever to manage loading Wii DOL files of commercial games - most other attempts at writing loaders got a green screen of error!
