So well.. all homebrew channel owners.. your warranty is void. It's official (at least in Europe).

Bushing posted it at Hackmii: http://hackmii.com/2009/04/warranty/
Translated picture by me (anyone finding mistakes may keep them): http://l0nk.org/warranty-eng.jpg (irrelevant parts have not been translated)

 oh noes! But HBC makes them money the be fair, cause people rent/buy Loz: Twightlight Princess plus say theres a new game exploit people would have too buy that game if they dont have it already! So if I was them I would not keep trying to block HBC, I would try to block piracy.

mines been void for almost 2 years now, lol.

well i guess they arent bothering to block piracy since 99% of the homebrewers that dont use gecko os use it for backuploaders and emulators. Not to be rude but the statement of "oh but i have the original copy" is slight rubbish because theres a reason as to why nintendo are SELLING classic games on the shop channel rather than saying: if you can prove to us you have it then you get it for free. thats the reality and sorry but if any homebrewer says they dont use homebrw for either piracy or gecko os (and very rarely the dvd player but most people have one at home anyway so I doubt that) i simply cant believe them, i dont think you';d void your entire warrenty for homebrew applications and games (no fofence, theyre great games especially since theyre 100% free, but I doubt anyone would void their warranty for tetris or anything like that".

they want to stop the homebrew channel compeltely because the pirates always seem to hang onto the homebrew channel and recover their applications within a week, if nintendo got rid of the homebrew channel completely then the pirates will have nothing to hang onto until a new exploit comes out.

thats how i see it

personally, I don't see this an issue

If you really do brick your wii, nintendo can't tell.
If you uninstall the titles, Nintendo can't tell.

Just be smart when sending your wii in and you wont have an issue.

1) We do not know!
2) MAYBE WRONG!
I did dump the NAND once..
a) before HBC and TP Hack
b) with HBC installed
c) after deleting HBC (with Anytitle deleter! - not via menu - so that even TMDs and tickets should be gone)
d) after resetting Wii

In all cases b, c and d I was clearly able to find traces the HBC left!
I cannot tell for sure if I did something wrong.. and I didn't inspect the filesystem too deep.. but I was pretty sure there were traces!

So we cannot say for sure..

Link, its quite fortunate that nintendo have been slightly thick in the past and anyone with homebrew ive asked "did nintendo do anything to your wii when you sent it to them" and they would say nope nothing, just had to delete the homebrew channel with anytitle deleter, nothing more to it than that.

lets hope they sustain this stupidity

I've always heard that only a few of the workers at Nintendo actually take the time to check if your Wii has homebrew on it. Sometimes you'll get people who don't bother to check, and other times they could find something suspicious and snoop around for homebrew
If you have any requests for AC:WW/AC:CF codes, send me a message. :D

Someone with PinkFish Disc can check and see if it shows up. Nintendo isn't willing to dump the NAND.

Sure you could find traces, but thats because you are smarter than nintendo repairmen.

Probably true.. I am still a little concerned about that new disc Nintendo was mentioning in that e-mail.. which is supposed to do a better detection job. However you're correct that detection disc will only work on Wiis where just the drive is busted.. so in worst case you might really be better off by bricking the whole console in case you have a software error.. let's just not hope irrelevant parts such as the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi adapter go defective.. these are replaced within seconds, however the Wii won't boot without them. And then the HBC would become clearly visible :(

hetoan2

but if you brick your wii and they send a new one all data will be lost, including your VC games, and you will be sent back a NEW wii (unhackable currently) since those are the only ones nintendo's giving now, and you'll be sent 4.0 or higher.

Well, I hope you're right.. we know the internal Flash memory has a unique encryption key.. but who knows if NIntendo knows that key - right now all of us (including me) assume that it is . Only a garbled flash memory (meaning not an unbootable but a completely destroyed one) would help then.

However, I guess and I hope you're right!

F........
I don't understand why Nintendo hates HBC that much, the only illegal thing you can do with it is to get virtual console games for free, and that feature has been killed by the 4.0 update, and if they update your wii every time they fix it and when you play a disk for the first time or play on wifi, most people am going to update. Also, i don't get why they should tell that programs like GeckoOS shouldn't be allowed to get, i can't remember Nintendo acting like this on game shark and action replay, the GTS in Pokémon is overflowing with hacked poké's, and Nintendo is doing nothing to stop it, but on wii, Nintendo permanently ban your wii from the internet, removes the HBC every time we update our wii's and now they increase the costs of repairing a wii to higher than the price of a new wii, or just below!

Right now, i just want to do the things in Radical Hacker's sig to nintendo.....

So then, the USB Loader isn't Free and (so long as you already have the IOS) still working on 4.0 then? As well, said Nintendo fix won't work if a person updates with Wanin's installer.

Don't do stuff that'd cause it to need to be fixed without a way that you can recover from it (or erase all traces of homebrew beforehand) without sending it to Nintendo. (Natural causes being a different story of course.)

There are so many ways to bypass (unwanted) updates on new games these days it's not even funny.

Because they can't do anything for the DS games (afaik) since they can't get the info needed to ban; That and they only ban you on the Wii if you use unfair cheats like always have -item- for MKWii.

So far no update has touched the HBC, only the Twilight Hack and the ability to install the HBC/it. That and knowing Nintendo, when they do finally decide to target the HBC, they'll prolly do some stupid thing like scanning for its ID ('HAXX') to remove it, since that can easily enough be changed to something else if the need were to arise (afaik anyways).
