So... I bought an USBGecko and used it a lot, thanks, Nuke, thanks to all developers here in the forum! I like it... But there is a little problem: it doesn't work properly now. Dunno why. I cracked it up and searched the capacitors/resistors in my lab ;-) Maybe one has burnt ^^ Nevertheless it would be easier for me to repair it, when i had the circuit diagramm. If someone could draw one, it would be great. No, i don't want to sell it to _anyone_. That's absolutely not my intention neither I am selling homebrew to anyone (even noobs....). It's just a "repair intention".

Thanks in advance. everything i  killed i managed to repair, therefore i wanna to try it in this case, too :-)

USBGeckos are very expensive here and i don't want to buy a new one; maybe all chips are ok, only a r/c is burnt...

Mine opened on its own, the glue wasn't enough.

probably nothing.

same.

@millw0rm:If you can't fix it click the banner in my sig, (My friend is doing this) do a ton of servays then cash the point for ebay gift cards, then buy a USBgecko off ebay

hetoan2

matt, can you take it out of your sig, I don't want people being tricked in going to a scam site.

There is always a catch, no matter what they say :|

no, theres no catch. (see every point some one earns they make twice that in USD, from the servay sites that that person did so...)

milw0rm

You really don't get it, do you? ^^ I want to have a simple circuit diagramm lol
That's a thing of a few minutes (drawing etc..)... so c'mon :D I won't buy a new. I will _repair_ my old. That's it.

hetoan2

see, none of us are risking to open it up because honestly, you cant get a new one. and nobody wants to be without their gecko.

ask Igglyboo to, he's got 2...

huh? Why risking? There is no risk, when you meter your usbgecko (pin to pin ^^). there are 2 screws. screw them up and get ready to meter. there are no risks... In case of total damage: i have dumped the Flash of the (EEPROM?) of the ICs via a flasher as*.bin File. I could reflash them if needed...

IgglyBoo, please help :-)

Nuke

The Altera Max II code is code protected, once programmed they cant be read back. Your best bet is contact the store you bought it from for a replacement if its broken.

As for circuit diagram, the parts are all off the shelf parts, so pin outs are included in the data sheets.

milw0rm

that means....?
Can you give a circuit diagram or not? ;-)

hehe
But, who wrote the Programm for the ALTERA MAX II? You, nuke? I would be happy, if we could have a talk about ICs programming and so on. I am very interested!

Nuke

yep, i wrote the code, its written in VHDL, although i use verilog nowadays as its much more like C and prefer the way blocking and none block assignments are done.
