Same as others, I want to know if anyone with 3.4 has found this to be an automatic update like Nintendo said it may be. Anyone have any idea? Or did they lie about that and it's still prompted?

Once I know about that I'm downloading right away.

EDIT: Friend just told me he had to prompt it to update. He's not sure since he prompted it as soon as he switched the Wii on (literally went to update right away)

Anyone else know anything?

I sort of want to update, as launching a WiiWare/VC game from an SD card would be helpful. But I really don't want to loose the Homebrew Channel, as I have Disaster Day of Crisis coming in the mail, and I really want to play it. So my question is does any know if I update to 4.0 from 3.4 with the homebrew channel installed will I still be able to use it properly, most importantly Gecko OS and the ability to play PAL games on NTSC Wii? Thanks.

So if I get a Wii with no homebrew with this update, I can't use the twilight hack?

Oh god how I have longed for this update Cheesy

But its a double edged sword that must be downloaded in pieces to prevent all the horrible things that the update has to offer.

I assume that we'll get to see some form of download where all IOS will be manually fake signed and the menu will be downloaded seperately..

oh and marcan: http://hackmii.com/2009/03/system-menu-40-rundown/
