im starting to think i better just save up to buy a 2nd wii concsole, one for the HBC with an old system menu and one always updating to play downloaded games from the shop channel and games without cheating.

I only wanna use the HBC for gecko os to use codes on games, like an action replay but i also want this cool update for the shop channel and running downloaded games off of sd, but im seeing problems installing 4.0 with HBC and twilight hack etc. Besides I think the wii is going down in price

wii will not change in price.

plus that is a stupid reason to buy a second wii. HBC and gecko OS are unaffected by this update as long as you have a cIOS and even then you can easily undo the updates for free.

you don't need to waste your money on an overpriced system again when the second one won't be homebrewable ever either. Now ALL wiis in stores have a new boot1 so you'll find yourself royally fucked.

Sorry for the previous post.I suppose that I screwed up my answer.
I tried Gecko OS(both versions,002fix and regular) and neither can use Ocarina.It displays again the same message 'SD error'.
Is there any hope about an updated Ocarina or Gecko OS version which supports 4.0 update?
Or am I doing something wrong?Has anyone else tried to use Ocarina codes after the last update?

SDHC support must be added to the application itself.. the shop channel was made SDHC aware, the Wii Menu is.. back then the HBC learnt SDHC long before the Wii Menu.. Gecko OS admittedly still uses the old libogc libraries.. the new version might switch to new libogc and would then support SDHC..

Ocarina will not be updated so not SDHC support for it!

That issue has nothing to do with 4.0!

I dont have the cIOS file, where can I get one and where should I put it before installing 4.0? i gotta make sure that gecko os does work after the update, im not concerned bout twilight hack anymore cause i will be keeping the HBC and Gecko OS.

If you wanna update with Waninkokos Updater or other updaters then you do not need any cIOS, you can downgrade later on with regular WAD managers!

as long as you're not on 3.3v2 you  still need trucha bug in at least 1 IOS to downgrade.

IOS 16 is no longer an option.

That issue has nothing to do with 4.0!

The problem is that I tried to use the codes after the 4.0 update using my SD card(non SDHC) also with the same problem again.
I don't think  that SDHC cards cause the problem anymore.

if you don't have a cIOS that could be the problem. the only thing is none of us are willing to sacrifice homebrew just to see what your issue is. then we'd all be in the same boat.
