Rebooter stopped working

Hi there,

Before I start explaining, please note that I have NOT updated my Wii's firmware, I'm still using the 3.3U that I got by doing the manual firmware update that I got from Wiibrew.org. Everything was working fine until yesterday. The last copy protected backup I did was my Tetris Party saved game and this was on the 30th of December.

Yesterday, I purchased Bomberman from the Wii Shop channel and after a game, I wanted to back up my data but I got the copy protected error. I went to the GeckoOS software and attempted to use the Rebooter, but I got this message:

Rebooting With Hooks
Error Loading Menu

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling GeckoOS, same deal. Can anyone help?

u must be on 3.3v2, u updated on the 23rd of october or after that, u need to downgrade to at least 3.3v1 or even better 3.2

Hmm, looks like someone only read the title of this topic :P

This software is far from being convenient compared to the Rebooter and you need to use a GameCube controller. Also, I fail to see how this will allow me to backup WiiWare saves since this requires an actual game disk.


Now to everyone else, before starting an argument that my firmware is 3.3v2, tell me how I can find out (that it's V2) so that I can simply take a picture to put this to rest.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but Nintendo doesn't force an auto update, correct? You need to agree or shut down the system, right? If so, I don't recall having the choice when I recently purchased Bomberman Blast, Tetris Party or Super Paper Mario.

Again, do you happen to know how I would be able to confirm that my firmware is 3.3v1 or 3.3v2?

if you download Tetris Party you will get 3.3v2. It doesn't need to ask you. it's in the agreement for the shop fix :| it forces it on you.

FFMLAAK also forces an update, but that's only 3.2 :|

naah i read ur first post as well, i jsut assumed ud be on 3.3v2 coz when u check the system menu in teh wii settings it says 3.3E, doesnt say 3.3Ev2 or v1 or w/e

One problem with that statement, I was able to back the copy protected Tetris save file using the Rebooter to my SD card, so that can't be it.

Try to run Bushing's Title Lister.  I'm not sure, but I'm hoping that it outputs the data to your SD card.   If it does, please post the file here.

EDIT:  Sorry, but now that I think about it, tell me if it lists an IOS51 as being present.
